Optimus Prime Stained Glass Lamp: Light Bulb in Disguise

I’ve seen stained glass Transformers and lamps done up to look like helmets, but this is the first time I’ve seen the two combined. This awesome handmade Tiffany stained glass lamp is sure to make any fan of Optimus Prime very happy.

It was made by 3rdEdgeStainedGlass, who spent over 80 hours making it using stained glass, copper foil and solder. The lamp measures in at about 14″ (h) x 12″(w) x 12″(d).

It’s available over on Etsy for a whopping $1150(USD). For that kind of money you’d better hope that there aren’t any Decepticons lurking around your house ready to smash it.

Stained Glass Octopus Chandelier: Eight Arms to Light You

As far as I’m concerned, your dining room can never have too many tentacles. So if you have an extra few grand, this stained glass octopus chandelier can be yours. It even has detachable limbs that can hold candles and glow.

Imagine that Octopus looking down on you are you eat all of your meals, just glowing as if almost ready to attack you and drag you into it’s lair. It was made by Mason Parker of Mason’s Creations. Parker says that each of the tentacles would be about 30 inches-long if they were stretched out, and the lamp itself measures four feet across as it is.

The body and the tentacles can light up separately or all at once. So how menacing it is, is up to you. If you want it, it will cost you $18,000(USD). When you think about it, that’s just $2,250 per tentacle.

X-Men Sentinel Stained Glass Window is Mag-Neato!

Relax mutants. That is not a real sentinel. You can go back to your schoolwork which Professor X is expecting in the morning. This awesome stained glass creation was made by Zero Wing Labs and it looks amazing.

sentinel
You have to love those comic book colors as the Sun shines through and the details throughout. It belongs in a bad guy mutant place of worship alongside Juggernaut and Toad and other villains. Forgive me father, it has been 10 years since my last mutant capture… Dear God, the pain! I’ll do better, I swear.

This thing looks like it came straight from the pages X-Men. Awesome glass pages.

Boba Fett Stained Glass Spotted at The Church of Mandalore

If you worship Madalorian Bounty Hunters, your church needs to look good – and look good it will, with this awesome Boba Fett stained glass. Your lord and hunter Boba Fett will look amazing as light shines down upon him as if he were resurrected from his untimely demise in the Sarlacc pit.

This is the latest addition to the stained glass collection of Michael McLane, who recently created that awesome Boba Fett helmet lamp.

The picture on the left is natural lighting; on the right, artificial lighting. What does this tell us? Fett looks awesome no matter how he’s lit.I would love to see a church decked out in all stained glass panels of Star Wars characters. Now that’s a religion I can get behind.

Half-Life Gets the Stained Glass Treatment

Fans of the Half-Life series will immediately recognize the Lambda logo in this image. But this isn’t just some patch on Gordon Freeman’s uniform, no. This is a handmade work of art – a geeky stained glass masterpiece if you ask me.

half life stained glass

It was made by Evan Daniels of Martian Glasswork – the same man behind the Iron Man and Master Chief stained glass works featured here before. This window measures 25″ x 25″ and was cut from 34 individual pieces of glass. Each of the textures in the center of the symbol is unique, which really makes an already special piece just that much more special.

This one-of-a-kind piece is available over on Etsy for $500(USD). I’m surprised the guys at Valve haven’t snatched it up to put it alongside their life-size TF2 gun and their Portal turret replica.

Master Chief Stained Glass is a Masterpiece of Halo Fan Art

Stained glass seems to be having some sort of a geeky renaissance period. So why shouldn’t Halo get in on the colored translucent glass action? Well, okay then…

master chief stained glass 1

This impeccably detailed Master Chief stained glass window was made by Evan Daniels of Martian Glass Works. It’s just about perfect. The only thing it’s missing is a little glowing blue Cortana floating around and guiding Chief’s way as he takes on the Covenant and countless other nasties.

Measuring in at 50″(H) x 40″(W) and made up out of about 200 pieces of glass, it’s an impressive feat for sure. It took Evan about 70 hours to construct. Of course, all of that work is bound to be worth something, and the big glass Chief is selling for a whopping $3000(USD). But even if you can’t afford it, you should pop on over to Etsy and admire it from afar.

Stormtrooper Stained Glass: If the Empire Had a Church

While I never figured Darth Vader to be a man of faith, he definitely had enough of an ego to start his own church – but instead of religious figures and scenes on the stained glass, he’d much more likely go with something like this.

stormtrooper stained glass

Yep, that’s a stormtrooper stained glass window, and Vader would line the walls of his church with an army of these, and perhaps images of the Death Star and the extermination of Alderaan.

This awesome stained glass window was made by artist Donna Terraza, and measures a substantial 22.5″ by 43.5″, so it’s almost life-sized. And before you go complaining about the helmet design, this thing is based on CC-1138 (aka Clone Marshal Commander Bacara) – who looked exactly like this.

Can you imagine if you had a glass front door, and installed this thing behind the glass? How cool would that be? I bet you’d never get unwanted solicitors coming to your front door again.

The window shown here has already been sold, but you can order one custom made over on Etsy for $710(USD). You hear that, Lord Vader?

Iron Man Stained Glass: World’s Most Fragile Superhero

Tony Stark is only as tough as he is because of his Iron Man armor. That’s why it’s made out of space age material, not glass. If you want to see the Iron Man armor made from glass, here it is. Sneeze wrong and it all shatters like Tony Stark’s sobriety.
Iron Man stained glass
This piece of glass shows off Iron Man’s armor in amazing detail. Seeing the light hit the armor just makes Iron man seem… holy somehow. This amazing piece of stained glass art comes from artist R. Evan Daniels of Martian Glass Works, who says that it’s the most complicated work he’s created yet.

It has 334 pieces of glass and took over 100 hours to build. It measures 9.5 square feet, so he will need to build a special crate just to ship it to you. That is, if you have the $4,500(USD) necessary to bring it home. Tony Stark should be able to afford that with no problem.

Stained Glass Starship Enterprise: Glass, The Final Frontier

Over the years, we’ve come across some unusually geeky stained glass items, and the latest to pop up over on Etsy is this handmade glass Starship Enterprise.

starship enterprise stained glass

It was made by artist Patricia Meehand, using fused and stained glass pieces, and is a pretty solid replica of Captain Kirk’s ship. Though I have to say the “NOC-1701″ is bugging me. Isn’t that supposed to read “NCC-1701?” It’s still a cool piece if you’re not a stickler for accuracy. And we all know that Trekkies can let something like this slide. Or maybe not.

The glasswork is set into an 18-1/2″ x 23″ black picture frame, and would look great hanging in a window or with lights behind it. If you want it, have Scotty beam you over to Etsy, where you can grab it for $200 (USD).
