Tank Vader: The Ultimate Power in the Universe

Darth Vader. He’s one of the best parts of the original Star Wars saga. What if you could turn him into a badass Sith tank and let him loose on your enemy?
Vader tank
That would be amazing. Tank Vader would just decimate whole armies and lay waste to everything in it’s path. The Vader tank is the work of Gabriel Dishaw. It is a miniature tank with the head of the Lord of the Sith riding atop it, much like Danny Trejo’s head on that turtle in Breaking Bad.

Vader tank1
It is made from all kinds of recycled parts: a toy tank, computers, typewriters, adding machines, airplane parts and vintage model pieces.

You can buy Tank Vader from Gabriel’s site for $1000(USD). Sadly my pockets are empty or else I would consider it. It just looks amazing!

Han Solo in Carbonite Fridge: An Ice Box for Tattooine

With this awesome Han Solo in carbonite fridge, Jabba can just reach inside and grab a cold brew or a chilled toad to enjoy while he watches his private dancers. It definitely beats just hanging some frozen dude on your wall.
Hanasonic Fridge

The problem of course is that, that little psycho Salacious Crumb will steal all of your popsicles and then cackle about it at your feet all day. Oh well. Obviously, this model of fridge comes from “Hanasonic”.

So when will we be able to buy our own Han Solo in carbonite fridge? Somebody needs to get to work on that now. I have a lot of nerd dollars just waiting to be spent.

Han Solo Carbonite Ring: Jabba the Jeweler

I bet Jabba the Hutt is kicking himself right about now for failing in his diet. There is no way he could get this awesome Han Solo in Carbonite ring on even his little finger. I guess he could have one of his slaves wear it for him.
han solo carbonite ring
This ring displays a miniature Han Solo frozen in carbonite – one of the most classic moments in movie or sci-fi history. This is a design that was sketched out by Paul Bierker, a jeweler who is obviously a geek as well. I know this because he also made this.

It’s the perfect engagement ring for any Hutt who is in love and also wants to keep his trophies close by.

Somebody Needs to Make This Han Solo Refrigerator ASAP

Every once in a while, something comes along that’s very impressive, incredibly cool and endlessly desirable. The only problem is that it’s not real. Such is the case with this Photoshopped fridge adorned Han Solo frozen in carbonite.

Angry Birds Star Wars II Sees Personal Invitation From The Emperor

When someone like Emperor Palpatine gives you an offer to “join the pork side”, you would be nuts to refuse his offer unless you do not mind being electrocuted to death by his Force Lightning. Of course, this is somewhat like Vito Corleone who gives people an offer they cannot refuse, but with a whole lot more tricks up his sleeve – literally, considering how Palpatine’s robe has a pretty long sleeve to begin with. Star Wars fans will be thrilled to enjoy the first “Join the Pork Side” video that you can watch above, and it has even been voiced by the Emperor from the Star Wars films, Ian McDiarmid himself.

It was just yesterday when we saw the multiplayer mode for Angry Birds Star Wars, but here we are with word about Angry Birds Star Wars II. This particular sequel will see both bird and pig versions of over 30 characters from the Star Wars universe. Do stay tuned as next Monday will deliver the first set of character reveal gameplay videos, and the game itself is set to be released later this September 19th on a worldwide scale, where it will also hit the decks as an universal app across iOS, Android (Google Play and Amazon) and Windows Phone 8 platforms for $0.99 a pop – or whatever you are paying in your local equivalent currency. A free version is also available on Google Play, but that will be ad-supported.

The New Star Wars Will Be Shot on Film, Which Is Probably Great

The New Star Wars Will Be Shot on Film, Which Is Probably Great

Last night, Star Wars: Episode VII cinematographer Dan Mindel announced that the J.J. Abrams-directed movie will be shot on 35mm film, as opposed to digital video. The decision symbolizes the changing of the guard from the reign of George Lucas, and hopefully adds some much-needed vigor to the beloved franchise.

R2-D2 and C-3PO Best Friends Necklace

R2-D2 and C-3PO are obviously best friends in that classic Odd Couple sense. R2 is a take charge kind of droid, while 3PO complains endlessly is is super prissy. If they were roommates, 3PO would be the neat freak. So, I guess it makes sense for them to have a best friends necklace to share.
    droid bff
This one from Etsy shop rapscalliondesign is perfect. Each droid can wear one half of the heart whenever they are apart and then presumably assemble it and hang it on the wall when they are together.

Stupid little short-circuit, R2. To which R2 will reply bleep bleep bleepity bleep blop blip – wWhich we all know means go jump in a sarlacc pit, but 3PO will take it as endearing anyhow.

Nerdblock Gift Box: Question Mark Blocks IRL

If you like LootCrate, check out Nerdblock. It’s also a geek-oriented subscription that sends you a box containing 5 to 6 items every month. Each package contains a t-shirt plus other geeky items. The biggest draw of Nerdblock is that it gets its merchandise from major brands and companies like Star Wars, Nintendo, Marvel and DC.

The company’s retro-style introduction video comes off as a bit patronizing, but it does explain everything you need to know about the service.

The Saga of Star Wars’ Toys Is Almost Better Than the Actual Movies

As much as the original Star Wars was a revolution in filmmaking that gave birth to the summer blockbuster, it was also responsible for the idea of marketing and merchandising the crap out of a film property. It all started with a hastily-designed line of action figures and toys that collectors are still desperate to snatch up. And if you were young enough to remember a Boba Fett figure that never actually fired rockets, you’ll probably love Plastic Galaxy: The Story of Star Wars Toys.

AT-AT Walker Bookcase: The Empire Strikes Book

There aren’t many more iconic creations from the Star Wars universe than the AT-AT Imperial walkers from The Empire Strikes Back. Sure, they ended up having an Achilles’ heel (or four of them), but I’d like to see you design a walking weapon that can’t be tripped. Fans of the AT-AT will definitely appreciate this piece of furniture – a bookcase made in the form of the Imperial walker.

Diana over at Bit Rebels spotted this awesome AT-AT bookshelf by Whittled in Wood. It’s perfect for holding onto your Star Wars books and collectibles, and while it might designed for a kid’s room, I don’t see any reason why you adults can’t enjoy it too. It’s handmade from birch plywood and other woods, and held together with screws and dowel rods. That sounds pretty sturdy to me, but you still won’t want to let any Rebel snow speeders get near it with tow cables.

The AT-AT bookshelf is available over on Whittled in Wood’s Etsy shop for $565(USD). While you’re over there, you might want to pick up a Millenium Falcon
