Carrie Fisher Returning As Princess Leia In Star Wars Episode 7

Carrie Fisher Returning As Princess Leia In Star Wars Episode 7

Last month we heard rumors of Harrison Ford possibly returning to reprise his role as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 7. The news came from a Latino Review reporter, although there were conflicting reports coming in at the same time. Today, on the other hand, isn’t speculation as Carrie Fisher has confirmed she’ll return as Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode 7.

During an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated, Fisher was asked if she would be coming back as Princess Leia:

Question: Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?

Fisher: Yes.

Reports of Fisher returning as Princess Leia first circulated this past November when she said she would return to the Star Wars franchise, but it was later confirmed her remarks were tongue-in-cheek and in no way confirmed her return.

If reports of Harrison Ford’s return turn out to be true, we’ll personally be calling Mark Hammill on an hourly basis to make sure he’s aware he’s the last piece of the puzzle missing from the old cast returning to a new Star Wars film.

The buzz continues to build around the next movie in the Star Wars franchise that will be directed by JJ Abrams. We talked about this film several times already since it was announced as in the works by Disney after it purchased Lucasfilm. Lucasfilm is the company owned by George Lucas, the creator of the Star Wars franchise.

It was previously tipped that Harrison Ford would be reprising his role as Han Solo. Carrie Fisher has now confirmed that she will be returning to reprise her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars Episode 7. We still don’t officially no what the next film will be about, but there have been rumors swirling that the movie would focus on the children of Han and Leia.

With both Ford and Fisher now attached to the film, these rumors are looking more and more factual every day. Fisher confirmed her involvement in the project during an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated. She was asked during the interview if she would be returning as Luke Skywalker’s sister, and she simply stated “yes.”

The only outstanding character from the original trilogy that was heavily involved in the storyline is Luke Skywalker himself. So far, Mark Hamill hasn’t confirmed that he will be returning for the film. Considering that Hamill has had nothing major to his credit since the last Star Wars film, he would be rather crazy to refuse to participate if asked.

This Yoda Hoodie Makes You a Jedi Master

You’d better start perfecting your Yoda voice now, Star Wars fans. Because the first thing that you will want to do after buying this sweet Yoda hoodie is to find someone much taller than you and train them in the ways of The Force.

This awesomely big-eared Yoda hoodie was created by Erin Maynard and will cost you just $45.99(USD). That’s a small price to pay to instantly become a Jedi master. Judge me by my price, do you?

If you live in a swamp, I would not pass a deal like this up. Especially if you live in a hut in that swamp.

Star Wars Nesting Dolls: May the Force Be with You. And You. And You. and You. And You.

These are the dolls you’re looking for. Graphic designer, illustrator and disciple of the Russian side of the Force Andy Stattmiller made nesting dolls of the characters in Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Just the main ones though. Otherwise some of the dolls would be insanely small.

Andy made the dolls out of wood and acrylic paint. The dolls are separated into two groups of seven dolls each: the good guys and the bad guys. The largest dolls are 8″ tall while the smallest ones are just 0.75″.

Jabba the Hutt Cake Makes Me Jabba the Hungry

While Jabba the Hutt is one ugly looking mutha, I still think I’d consider sinking my teeth into his flesh if he were made out of cake and icing – like this guy.

While it may look nasty on the outside, this Jabba the Hutt cake is probably delicious on the inside. It was made by Kate’s Kakes for some lucky dude named Henry. Of course, he had to strangle it with his shackles before he cut it open and started devouring him.

I wonder if it left any Salacious Crumbs on Henry’s tablecloth.

C-3PO Dress: Be a Droid out on the Town

There are a number of Star Wars-themed outfits out there that look pretty good – but most of them are clearly for cosplay. But you could probably wear this Star Wars dress out to a club or bar, which is one of the reasons why I think it works really well.

The C-3PO-inspired dress looks darn good, and even though C-3PO has been underrepresented in fashion, this dress makes looking like a protocol droid quite fashionable. I can already see these working not just at Halloween parties, but in everyday life, which is a bonus. Who wouldn’t want to dress up as a Star Wars character every day that they could?

The Gold Metal Man Dress is available from GeekyU’s Etsy store for $199.99(USD). If that’s not for you, then they’ve got other apparel that you might be interested in, including the slightly more obvious Artuito Dress shown in the first picture above.

Funny Pop Culture Scenes in LEGO

Some people build starships with LEGO, others build houses or recreate classic movie moments. Christian Cantrell has his own unique take – borrowing from popular culture and creating humorous scenes using LEGO bricks. Some of these scenes are downright brilliant, cute and funny.

How about a young punk Luke Skywalker smashing mailboxes with his lightsaber? Or Batman and Captain America laughing at Spider-Man, who is afraid of spiders? One of my favorites are the Stormtroopers riding mouse droids like skateboards. I would say that Christian is a LEGO comedian and artist in one.

X-wing Fighter Bed: Red 5 Nodding Off

Kids can be rebellious. I say give a rebel kid a rebel bed. A rebel X-wing Fighter bed like this one. Well, the bed actually sits beneath the body of the ship, allowing the kid to climb up into the cockpit. If I had had this as a kid, I would never have left my bedroom.

The detail is pretty nice on this X-Wing bed too, with its Astromech droid, X-foils that open and close, and a cockpit where you can sit and watch DVDs on the screen in the nose of the ship.

The owner of this bed sure is one lucky kid. I hope he grows up to destroy a Death Star and earn some fame and glory.

Boba Fett Mixer Stirs up Its Bounty

When it comes to kitchen appliances, women want colors that match their decor. Men want what they usually want. Something cool that looks nothing like what women want. Preferably, their kitchen appliances should look like Boba Fett. That’s why Tommyfilth talked his wife into buying a broken old Kitchenaid for Christmas. It would soon get a super nice makeover.

Soon he refurbished it into this Boba Fett Mixer. It’s got some excellent battle-worn armor and it mixes batter like there was a bounty on baked goods. I’m sure they have already made their share of Star Wars cookies and cakes with this thing.

Okay Disney, your move – let’s see some more officially licensed Star Wars appliances now.
