AT-AT Made from Huggies Diaper Boxes: The Empire is Super Absorbent

Being a man, I’ve never been a stay-at-home mom. I imagine it can get pretty crazy, and at times boring and lonely. When the kids aren’t screaming and pooping all over the place, you are still cleaning up after all of that screaming and pooping. It’s enough to drive you crazy. It’s probably good to have a hobby. Like say, building AT-ATs out of diaper boxes.

That’s what stay-at-home mom, Kelly did in her spare time. She had a ton of Huggies boxes just laying around so she just did her amazingly crafty thang and whipped up this AT-AT that is super absorbent and stronger than the other leading brands.

From the looks of this thing, Kelly is super talented. I don’t remember my mom ever doing anything cool like that. While Kelly was creating this, her kids were probably in the corner throwing a (Boba) Fit… I hear you groaning.

Slave Leia Flash Drive is Chained to your Data

Mimoco has been offering Star Wars themed flash drives for a long time now. In fact, the latest batch of five themed flash drives is the eighth series to come from the company. I happen to think this series has what might be the coolest of all the Star Wars Mimobot flash drives the company has ever offered.

Any male geek out there who is a fan of Star Wars probably remembers one specific scene from Return of the Jedi and that would be the scene where Princess Leia is clad in a gold bikini and chained to Jabba the Hutt.

Mimoco is offering that Slave Leia flash drive complete with a chain around her neck and a bikini top. Granted the curved nature of the flash drive makes slave Leia a bit more portly than she was back in the 80s.

The series also includes a Jabba the Hutt flash drive, Admiral Ackbar flash drive (It’s a trap!), and Luke Skywalker Jedi drive. While that Princess Leia flash drive is most appealing to me, anyone intent on collecting these Mimobots want to keep an eye out at San Diego Comic-Con for a very limited edition Biker Scout drive. Only 1000 of those will be made and they will only be available at Comic-Con. The drives are available in 8 GB to 64 GB capacities here.

Death Star Ice Cubes Seem Ridiculously Easy for Rebels to Destroy

I always thought that the fact that the original Death Star had a giant weak spot in the middle that made it blow up was stupid. You’d think they’d design these things to be less susceptible to attack. But instead of improving upon the original design, the Japanese have gone ahead and made a Death Star that can be demolished by simply dropping it on the ground – or exposing it to heat. Yep, what you’re looking at here is the official Death Star ice cube sphere.

The guys at Kotobukiya have created this special round ice tray which can cast a perfect replica of the original Death Star. Just snap the two halves together, pour in your water, and freeze. You’ll soon have your very own icy Death Star, measuring in at about 60mm in diameter (~2.36 inches.) That’s way easier than having to hire a clone army to build one for you.

Kotobukiya plans on releasing the silicone ice mold this August for ¥1050 (~$13 USD), and I’m hopeful they’ll start to show up outside of Japan shortly thereafter. It’s like the Death Star and Hoth got together and had a baby! Isn’t it darling?

Classic Sci-Fi Scenes Get the LEGO Treatment

Official LEGO Star Wars sets have been around since 1999, but what our other geek needs? Where is our Blade Runner? Or TRON? Why is there no Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy set? LEGO, you are missing out on all of my money. Thankfully, The Living Brick’s “Mi-Fi“ Contest fulfills some of these dreams.

All the entries are in for the “Mi-Fi” contest, and the results are very very awesome. In addition to new scenes from Star Wars, there are LEGO-fied versions of TRON, The Matrix, Back to the Future, Avatar and many more! There’s even a tribute to Spaceballs.

Series 8 mimobots offer Jabba and Slave Leia

This may be the greatest day in history of themed flash drives. If you look back at every Star Wars movie made, one of the most iconic scenes is slave Princess Leia dressed up in that gold bikini in Return of the Jedi. That particular scene has been getting geeks fired up for decades. If you’re a fan of the Star Wars theme mimobot flash drives from mimoco, you want to check out this new series.

The latest series is the eighth in the Star Wars production run, and certainly the coolest is the Slave Leia version complete with bikini. The series also includes a Jabba the Hut, Admiral Akbar, and Luke Skywalker with blonde hair and robotic hand. Luke has been in more of these flash drive series than any other character.

The company is also offering an exclusive version in the series strictly at San Diego Comic-Con. That special edition is a Biker Scout from the forests of Endor. I will say Jabba is a bit too skinny in flash drive form while Leia is a bit too large. The special flash drives will be available in 8 GB to 64 GB capacities. There will only be 1000 of the Biker Scout units made.

Princess Leia Hoodie Could Be Your Only Hope to Have Hair Buns

I know it’s summertime for a lot of folks, but this is exactly the right time to grab the officially-licensed Princess Leia Hoodie. Beat the other Star Wars fans before the Holiday rush.

Star Wars: The Old Republic update 1.3 Allies has landed

Ah, game updates. How far you have come. Back in the day when games came on floppy disks, and you had to switch floppies in between segments of the game, updates were more or less non-existent, simply because there was no Internet. Well, the advent of the Internet has certainly introduced the concept of updates and bug fixes, and with Star Wars: The Old Republic, the same applies – content update 1.3: Allies is now available, where this particular update will see the introduction of Legacy Perks, Ranked Warzones, Adaptive Gear, and a new Group Finder amongst others.

According to Matthew Bromberg, general manager of BioWare Austin, “We are living up to our commitment in setting a new bar for what players should expect from a premium MMO service. In just six months, we have already released three major game updates that have added new content and game features that have addressed the feedback from our fans. And we are just getting started. By the end of this year, we are adding more Warzones, more Flashpoints, more Operations, more updates to the Legacy System, new companions, new storylines and more. We are very excited about the future.”

Well, have you given your copy an update?
