Mushkin has announced a new line of SSDs to its range called the 7mm Chronos Deluxe. Available in 60GB, 90GB, 120GB, 180GB, 240GB and 480GB sizes, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (7mm thick) are equipped with SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a SandForce SF-2281 controller, a MTBF of 2 million hours and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 560MB/s and 520MB/s, respectively. Skydrive, iCloud and Amazon Cloud Drive users have all been treated to upgrades recently, and now Box has announced a bunch of improvements are coming to its cloud platform for businesses. The portal header has been redesigned with a focus on searching and navigating quickly, and you can find other users at your company that bit easier, too. Additionally, Box Edit is ready to drop its beta suffix and, as long as you’ve got the relevant program installed, you can create files, edit them and save right back to the cloud from within the system. And, if you didn’t think the whole experience was social enough, an added ‘like’ feature for files will help you keep up with the latest trending process docs. Green House has rolled out the GH-SDMRXC64G6 64GB microSDXC memory card. Weighing at just 0.2 grams, the waterproof memory card provides read and write speeds of up to 40MB/s and 12MB/s, respectively. It comes bundled with an SD adapter. Many of us may have liked the prospect of Western Digital’s My Book Thunderbolt Duo, but there’s no doubt some of us who discovered that even 6TB just wouldn’t cut it. If that digital pack rat mentality describes you, the solution is here: the company has taken advantage of larger 4TB hard disks to stuff a total 8TB of storage into the Duo’s enclosure. The extra capacity hikes the price to $850, although the company notes that it’s including the often expensive Thunderbolt cable to avoid any surprise trips to the store. Those without the ports or budget for the Duo can still reap some of the benefits through an updated, 4TB version of the regular My Book that hums along on USB 3.0 at a more reasonable $250 price. Either of the new drives should be lurking in stores if you’re hurting for space as we write this.
