You’ve probably run into the old problem of where to keep your spare slice of pizza, or that half-eaten sandwich when you are out and about. You can’t put them into your pocket because that’s just nasty. You don’t want a sandwich full of lint! Well, one girl has solved the problem with a Ziploc jacket.

This Ziploc Jacket keeps all of your food items in plain view and keeps it all fresh. You are basically a walking food cart when wearing this thing. And it’s stylish too.

Want a mohair look? Just fill up all the pockets and let things get moldy! In the mood for red? Fill it up with tomato sauce! Damn. This thing is versatile.

A team of researchers in Switzerland have been working on a new robot that’s able to climb vertical surfaces of all sorts using unique sticky feet. The robot can climb all sorts of surfaces including walls, rock, aluminum, and others. The developers behind the robot believe it could be used to help with mountain rescues, construction crews, or painting walls and ceilings.

The wall climbing ‘bot was developed by Liyu Wang, Lina Graber and Fumiya Iida at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich.

The robot is able to cling to vertical surfaces using special plastic footpads that heat rapidly causing them to melt. When the plastic melts, the compound slimes into the nooks and crannies on the surface it’s climbing allowing it to stick. The robot then uses thermoelectric effect to cool the plastic allowing the foot to release so a step can be taken. The adhesives in the plastic feet melt at about 70°C.

While sticky feet made of melting plastic may not sound particularly strong, the researchers claim that the robot can carry five times its own mass up a vertical wall.

Here’s a coffee table that would go well with the steampunk NES. It was made by Charles Lushear of Bohemian Workbench using found items. I wouldn’t disagree if you think it’s more junkyard than steampunk, but either way it’s an impressive piece.

The cedar wood tabletop used to be part of a fence, the A and B buttons are antique clock movements and the Start and Select buttons are vintage rifle magazines. But the most intriguing part is the directional pad.

Apparently that piece of metal is a Katanga cross or a handa, a copper cross that was used as a form of currency in the Democratic Republic of Congo from the 19th to the 20th century. Katanga Katanga cross, y’all.

Lushear is selling it on his Etsy shop for $2,600 (USD). That’s a lot of Katanga crosses.

Cats have always had their place in history. The Ancient Egyptians regaled them as sacred deities and they were much-loved pets during the Chinese Song Dynasty. The close relationship that cats have with man continues up until today, where felines feel free to express their emotions (hello Grumpy Cat) and are spoiled rotten (have you seen this or this?)

Then along came the Sushi Cats.

Contrary to what the title will have you believe, Sushi Cats is not some new exotic dish on the menu. Rather, it’s a quirky photo series featuring adorable and cuddly cats that are dressed to the nines as sushi – and not just the edible kind, since some of them are topped with accessories and random objects like a handbag, knitting needles, a tie, and even cold hard cash.

Sushi Cats was created by Japan’s Tange & Nakimushi Peanuts and they’re available as photo prints, post cards, and fans in the company’s online store, although they only ship within Japan.

They even put together a couple of humorous videos detailing the history and the adventures of the Sushi Cats…

While I really enjoy the occasional ATV or Jet-Ski ride, and regularly ride my bicycle, I have to say I’ve never been all that comfortable riding a motorcycle. Maybe it’s because the first time I rode on one, I was riding on the back of the seat with a crazy person behind the handlebars, holding on for dear life. Perhaps what I need is a motorcycle with training wheels.

That wasn’t quite what I had in mind. Have you ever seen a motorcycle that big? Yeah, me neither. This crazy bike was built in China by a sewage treatment plant worker in his spare time. He made it entirely from junkyard scrap, and drives along using tractor tires instead of regular motorcycle tires. It measures over 14-feet-long by nearly 8-feet-tall, and hits a top speed of about 25mph. It actually is big enough to carry 5 to 6 total passengers if you can believe it.

Wacky, eh? I guess it needs those training wheels in the back so it doesn’t tip over. It looks ridiculously top-heavy, especially with a driver and three passengers on board. I can’t even imagine riding around with six people on this thing.
