Super Smash Bros. Has A Bunch Of Rules That Could Get You Banned

Super Smash Bros. Has A Bunch Of Rules That Could Get You BannedSo we heard that Super Smash Bros. will be making its way onto the Nintendo 3DS later this year in summer, followed by a Wii U release later in winter. Given that game is designed to be a multiplayer game, safe to say that Nintendo has foreseen that gamers will run into trolls and griefers who will do everything in their power to make the game un-fun for you.

Thankfully Nintendo has thought this through and have come up with a list of rules that will result in gamers getting banned if they break any of them. This was revealed during the Nintendo Direct presentation and some of the things that gamers can do to get banned includes starting a game and not playing, essentially wasting everyone’s time; relentless targeting of an individual which we guess can be attributed to harassment and bullying; frequent self-destructs; frequent dropping which is also a waste of time; and last but not least, cheating.

We’re not sure what kind of cheats the game has since it has yet to be released, but presumably this could also cover the exploitation of bugs in the game and on certain characters that might give players a slight edge over the competition. Of course these rules don’t apply to local multiplayer games so you might want to think carefully of who you invite over for a game of Super Smash Bros.!

In fact this sounds a bit like Microsoft’s reputation system that they’re implementing for the Xbox One. Basically bad players are punished while good players are rewarded. Some of these can’t be helped, like dropping from games since it could be due to a bad connection, so hopefully Nintendo and whoever’s behind the banhammer will be able to distinguish between legitimate drops and players who drop out of games on purpose.

Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Pegged For Summer, Wii U Version For Winter

One of the Nintendo games that many are looking forward to this year includes Super Smash Bros., and during Nintendo’s recent Nintendo Direct conference, it was revealed that the game will be seeing a release this summer for the 3DS handheld console, and as for Wii U gamers, the game will arrive in Winter 2014 instead which is unfortunately a lot later than its 3DS counterpart.

This was confirmed by Super Smash Bros. boss, Sakurai Masahiro during Nintendo Direct where he also went on to reveal additional characters that would be joining the lineup. The characters include Charizard, Sheik, and Zero Suit Samus. Previously these characters were only part of another character, like how Charizard was part of the Pokemon Trainer character. (more…)

Princess Zelda Will Be Playable In Super Smash Bros.

Princess Zelda Will Be Playable In Super Smash Bros. Are you sick of playing as Link all the time in Nintendo’s Smash Bros. brawler franchise? Well you might be pleased to learn that you will be able to play as Princess Zelda come Super Smash Bros. for then Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U. Zelda will also be adorning the armor that she inhabits from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and if the screenshot above is any prediction, it looks like she has the ability to summon the Phantom which is pretty cool. Zelda has always been a playable character so we guess this is just confirmation that she will be returning for the upcoming brawler.

Super Smash Bros. is an upcoming title that Nintendo plans to release for both the 3DS handheld console and the Wii U platform. Unfortunately at this point in time, it is unknown when the game will be released. We had heard the rumors that the game along with Mario Kart 8 could see a Spring 2014 release, although that rumor was quickly quashed by the producer of the game, leaving us to wonder when we might be able to play it.

As it stands, the Wii U platform is not doing particularly well, with critics blaming the lack of blockbuster games, at least compared to the likes of the consoles from both Sony and Microsoft. However Nintendo has always managed to do well with their own titles and we have to wait and see if the addition of Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. will help boost Wii U sales!

Super Smash Bros. Producer Quashes Spring 2014 Release Rumors

Super Smash Bros. Producer Quashes Spring 2014 Release RumorsAccording to a previous report, it was suggested that upcoming Nintendo titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. could be arriving in the Spring of 2014. This information was supposedly revealed by a Nintendo executive, but as it turns out, the Spring 2014 date is wrong. The rumor has since been quashed by Super Smash Bros.’ game director himself, Masahiro Sakurai, who took to Twitter to state that while the Spring 2014 date is wrong, the game is still pegged for a release sometime in 2014, although no specific dates were mentioned.

It was not mentioned if this applied to Mario Kart 8 as well, or if Mario Kart 8 could be released separately, but it has been speculated that both games could see a release at the same time. Either way it looks like if you were hoping to get your hands on Super Smash Bros. in the near future, sorry to disappointment, but either way hopefully we will be given a more specific release date in the near future, so be sure to check back with us later for the details!

Mario Kart 8 And Super Smash Bros. Pegged For Spring 2014

Mario Kart 8 And Super Smash Bros. Pegged For Spring 2014It is expected that come 2014, Nintendo Wii U titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. will be released, although we still have yet to receive a specific release date. According to the previous rumor, it was hinted that the game could see a release in April 2014, although this was a date GameStop provided which for all we know, could be pure speculation on their part. Well according to Nintendo Germany general manager, Bernd Fakesch, both games could be seeing a release in the spring of 2014.

This is according to German source, Neckar Chronik, who reportedly quoted Fakesch on the alleged spring 2014 launch date. While it has been expected that Mario Kart 8 would see a spring 2014 release, Super Smash Bros. pretty much remained up in the air. Either way try not to get your hopes up just yet, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for a more solid release date. Titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. are highly anticipated amongst Wii U gamers, and hopefully we will see the console revitalized through the release of big name titles.

The Wii U has been struggling lately, with some attributing the fact that there is a lack of big name titles available for the console. Developers are definitely not helping as they have chosen not to release games for the platform, or taking away some features.

Details surrounding Super Smash Bros. have been trickling in on a somewhat regular basis as Nintendo has regularly introduced characters that will be included in the game’s roster as well as stages. Don’t forget Super Smash Bros. also has assist trophies, and Nintendo has just revealed one that we think is pretty neat. Possible Super Smash Bros. Release Date Hinted By GameStop

Possible Super Smash Bros. Release Date Hinted By GameStopNintendo’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. is slated to arrive on the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U come 2014, although at the moment no specific dates have been revealed yet, at least until recently when GameStop updated their database and revealed a possible release date which has been set for the 8th of April 2014 for both the 3DS and the Wii U console. We’re not sure if GameStop is speculating on a release date, or if they knew something and might have accidentally let the cat out of the bag a little earlier than expected.

The Spike TV VGX is expected to take place early December and for all we know, perhaps that could be a platform in which Nintendo will use to announce the release dates. If that is the case, it is not entirely out of the question if Nintendo might have given several retailers the heads up before hand, perhaps to allow them to prep their pre-order pages before the official information has been shared with the public. In any case Super Smash Bros. is one of the titles many gamers are looking forward to in the Wii U, which has been criticized for having a lack of triple A titles, at least compared to other consoles. We suggest you not get your hopes up just yet, but check back with us during the Spike TV VGX for the details!
