We all want to be Superman, but sadly can’t be—so maybe the nearest we can get is building his pad out of Lego. At least that’s what Chris Melby thought when he constructed this sensational model of the Fortress of Solitude from scratch. More »
Superman: Escape from Krypton has been terrifying Six Flags Magic Mountain visitors since 1997. Once the tallest roller coaster on the planet and the first to employ a linear motor system, Superman launched riders up a 415-foot vertical track at 100 MPH. Now GE is working to convert the technology behind the amusement park ride into an electric catapult capable of flinging F-35s into action. More »
Sure, Superman can leap tall buildings in a single bound and fly all over the place, but as Clark Kent, he still needs to drive in order to blend in. What do you think he drives? Apparently, it’s a Kia.
After showing off a round of superhero cars last Fall, DC Comics and KIA teamed up to make this Superman Optima Hybrid for the We Can Be Heroes charity. It was recently shown off at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. This super KIA features a grille that resembles Superman’s belt, a paint job that matches the big blue Boy Scout’s costume, along with red wheels and trim and trunk that mimic his cape.
The interior is even better, with Superman emblems on the electric blue seats and steering wheel. If Clark is going to drive this, he is going to give his secret away though. Brake. Brake before Zod!

DC’s Incredible Man of Steel Statuettes Look Like They Walked Straight Out of The Movie
Posted in: Today's Chili Superman is coming, and this summer he’s going to be tearing it up, kicking ass, and taking names on the big screen. For the meantime, though, we’re stuck with slightly smaller versions of the Man of Steel and his posse. But damned if they aren’t pretty. More »
At Toy Fair 2013, DC’s got all kinds of goodies ready to promote the upcoming film Man of Steel. And they’re letting out just a little tease in the form of an exclusive image of the new, never-before-seen Justice League statue “The Kiss.” Prices and availability for this and other upcoming statues have yet to be announced, but we’ll have more info for you when we hit the show floor on Monday. In the meantime, enjoy the tease. More »
The life of a superhero is a solitary one, no matter how fantastic the four. The powers that make heroes unique and special are the same that isolate and distance them from the rest of society. Marko Manov delves into this dichotomy in his fan art series “Superhero Noir” by mixing modern-day mythologies with a classic cinematic style. [Behance via Nerd Approved] More »
If you love DC Comics, and have some spare room on your wall, then listen up! You’re definitely going to want to buy these Justice League posters to fill in that empty space.
This set of five 11″ x 17″ prints from Poster Inspired features cool silhouettes of Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern and Batman.
Each one is digitally printed on a 250g off-white textured cardstock, and has sort of an aged parchment look to its background. Best of all, the complete set will only cost you $50 (USD). Then add on five cheap black frames, and you’ll have a complete art collection for less than 100 bucks.
Remember that part where I said “if you have spare room?” Well even if you don’t, I think you should clear off a wall for these now.
How can you not like Domo-Kun? He’s the cutest little monster we know. And now, he’s been reincarnated in a variety of superhero and supervillain egos thanks to the guys at Funko.
This series of 2.5″ tall Domo/DC Comics figures are quite possibly the best vinyl desk toys I’ve ever seen, and I must have them all. They were recently revealed by Funko, and will be hitting shops at the end of February. The series includes multiple versions of Batman, a couple of Robins, Clark Kent and Superman, as well as The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Shazam. On the evil side of the Justice League, you’ll get the Riddler and Two-Face.
Since these are part of a Funko Mystery Minis series, they’re each individually blind-boxed, with certain toys being more rare and collectible than others. Here’s the rarity scale in case you were wondering:
You can preorder them now over at Entertainment Earth in either 4 packs, or a complete display case. There’s also a line of larger POP! Heroes coming out at the same time, but I don’t think they’re as cute.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it is a remote controlled Superman! Whose only known weakness would be the lack of batteries, where Kal-El of Krypton here deviates from traditional canon as he does not gain energy from the sun’s energies. Of course, this toy is not indestructible either, but someone managed to capture a video of this remote controlled Superman somewhere along the coast of California.
This life-sized device is not the first of its kind, as there were smaller versions of such flying Supermen in the past, although this time around, the human scale as well as realistic shape (complete with an underwear on the outside) makes it the most convincing, and by George are we going to see some memes come up from a clear and decent image if possible. You know, toy companies should just come up with an official flying Superman remote controlled toy instead that is decent in price and offers more flying time than normal. Would be interesting to see where the propellers are hidden though.

Look up in the sky! It’s a bird… It’s a plane… It’s the geekiest R/C plane ever! You will believe a man can fly. This awesome Superman R/C plane makes if feel like Metropolis and makes observers do a double-take, wherever it flies.
Are they filming the new Superman movie with super cheap effects? Nah. Apparently a couple of guys were biking down the Pacific Coast Highway when all the sudden they see Superman fly by. WTF? Well, after some investigation, they caught up with the owner and shot some footage so that we all can see the awesomeness of this R/C plane.
Presumably, it’s one of these, just painted and caped up to look like the Man of Steel. I wish I had one, but I would just crash it on the first flight.
