Like many automotive-news outlets, our reporting of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupé
It’s not often that you see a ring made from a bullet that you could see women wearing. These Bullet Blossom rings are just that. Bang and bloom in one. It’s the softer side of firearm ammunition.
The rings are made from Colt .45 ACP bullet casings that are cut and curled into a beautiful and unique rosette. They’re then soldered to an 18-gauge brass backplate. To top it all off, a Swarovski crystal in the color of your choice is inserted in place of the primer, trading its bang for some bling.
It’s what you get the gun-toting gal who has everything. Plus, if a woman is wearing a bullet on her finger that you gave her, I’m pretty sure she will be yours forever.
The Bullet Blossom ring is available from Gun Goddess, and sells for $45(USD), and is also available in nickel.
Many ostensibly female-oriented phones tend to be compromised, with flashiness on the outside sadly unmatched by power on the inside. Not so Sugar’s inaugural, namesake smartphone: while the Android 4.2-based device is lined with 5.16 carats’ worth of Swarovski Pure Brilliance gems, the underlying hardware is worth attention all on its own. The 5-inch, 1080p Sharp LCD is backed up by a quad-core MediaTek chip, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front shooter and either 16GB or 32GB of storage. Sugar plans to launch the phone in China and Europe, although you’ll have to wait until August for full details. In the meantime, you can catch the full Engadget Chinese hands-on at the link below, and our colleagues’ English hands-on video is available after the break.

Ah, what better way to start off the week than by deciphering a cryptic message. Earlier today we received the above image from a mysterious company called Sugar, and that’s all there really is: some crystals in a candy wrapper, the tag line “The sweetest thing that you’ve never tasted before” (the Chinese counterpart implies “irresistible sweetness”), plus the words “July. Austria. Wattens. Unlock.” along the bottom.
As it turns out, Wattens is where the famed Swarovski is based, so we’re going to assume this has something to do with the Austrian crystal maker. As for the “unlock” part, perhaps Swarovski is going to launch its very own bejeweled smartphones or even tablets under the Sugar brand next month? Whatever they are, hopefully they won’t be as tacky as what we’ve seen in the past. The sweetness would be a bonus, too.

BLU Products: we like your value-packing smartphones, but we have to talk. Your just-shipped Amour is leaning a little too heavily on female stereotypes with its Swarovski zirconia home button, quilted back and luxury-themed take on Android 4.0. We’d rather you focus on the quite respectable budget phone inside. For $159, customers are getting a real bargain: there’s a 4-inch WVGA screen, a dual-core MediaTek chip, dual SIMs with unlocked 3G, a 5MP rear camera and a front VGA shooter. That kind of bang for the buck can appeal to frugal buyers of all kinds, not just those replacing an HTC Rhyme.

A lot of people are wearing the stretchy rubber bracelets to identify their support for a various causes these days. Swarovski has a new bracelet uses that appears to be the same stretchy material, but adorned with black crystals and a stainless steel case that conceals a hidden flash drive.
The bracelet is made from black rubber and has 10 jet hematite crystals on the stainless steel centerpiece. There are some details on this will bracelet that are left the imagination, though. Notably there’s no photograph of exactly how you access the flash drive. We can assume that the stainless steel midsection somehow opens to reveal the usb connector.
What we do know is that the flash drive has just 16 GB of storage. The bracelet is available now for $175(USD) making it one of the more expensive flash drives are likely to find.
