Samsung LTE Mobile HotSpot PRO For T-Mobile Announced

Samsung LTE Mobile HotSpot PRO For T Mobile AnnouncedIf you guys are in the market for a hotspot router, Samsung has announced the LTE Mobile HotSpot PRO for T-Mobile subscribers. Granted this is merely a hotspot router, its design is pretty pleasing to the eye, and some of its features could be worth your consideration. For starters the device will allow for tethering of up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices and naturally it will play nicely with T-Mobile’s LTE network and UMTS. It will also pack a 3,100mAh battery and charging support meaning that on top of using it as a hotspot device, you will be able to charge your other mobile device as well as long as it is compatible with it. The LTE Mobile HotSpot PRO will also pack a 1.2GHz processor with 4GB of internal storage which can be further expanded via microSD. For those interested in getting their hands on the device, T-Mobile is charging would-be customers $50 upfront along with monthly installments, or for those who would rather just pay it in one go, you can expect to fork out $170 for it. For more information, head on over to T-Mobile’s website for the details.

T-Mobile USA Announces Samsung Galaxy Light

T Mobile USA Announces Samsung Galaxy LightThe folks over at T-Mobile have come up with another particular smartphone offering from South Korean conglomerate, Samsung, and this time around, it would be the Samsung Galaxy Light which will no doubt run on the Android mobile operating system from Google. According to T-Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy Light will be one of the most affordable LTE handsets to date, but unfortunately, we do not have the exact details on its pricing. One of the cheapest, eh? Does this mean it is going to arrive for nearly free with a new 2-year contract?

The Samsung Galaxy Light ought to be made available in the weeks to come, where some of its features would include Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 4” display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution, a 5-megapixel shooter at the back, a 1.4GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory that can be further expanded upon via a microSD memory card slot, and a 1,800 mAh battery. This sure as heck seems to shape up to be an entry level handset, and it might just be a good way to introduce someone to the world of Android smartphones, and would be ideal for beginners. Power users, needless to say, would be advised to give this a miss.

New iPads Could Arrive On T-Mobile According To CEO’s Tweet

New iPads Could Arrive On T Mobile According To CEOs TweetCome 22nd of October, Apple will be holding an event in which many believe the new iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2 will be announced. We would expect that both tablets could be made available for purchase shortly after its announcement, most likely via Apple’s retail store or online store, but perhaps there is a good chance that T-Mobile might offer up the new iPads as well, thanks to a recent tweet by the carrier’s CEO in which he asked who is excited for the 22nd of October, which is the same day that Apple’s event will be held.

While the 22nd of October reference could be made regarding Nokia’s own press event, the tweet saw a link to an article covering Apple’s event. As it stands, T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the US to not offer an LTE iPad. Just as they were the last to carry the iPhones, they are the last to offer the iPad, but hopefully if this tweet is any indication, T-Mobile subscribers might be able to look forward to getting their hands on Apple’s new iPads along with LTE data plans via the carrier in the near future. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, so be sure to check back with us on the 22nd of October for the details.

T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 Update Release Slated For Next Week

T Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 Update Release Slated For Next Week

The Android 4.3 update for HTC One has slowly but surely made its way to the U.S. Last month HTC started rolling out the update first in Taiwan, following it up with the roll out for international variants and then for various countries in Europe. The company had previously said that the update would be released in the U.S. before September 30th, but it slightly missed that deadline. The first carrier to roll out the update for its HTC One was Sprint, which went through in the first week of October. A tweet from HTC America President Jason Mackenzie reveals that T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 update is going to be rolled out mid next week.

Only a few days ago AT&T rolled out the Android 4.3 updatez for its HTC One. If everything goes as planned and no unexpected issues pop up at the last minute, then T-Mobile subscribers holding on to their HTC flagships will be receiving the update over the next week. The update brings new widgets for the lock screen, quick settings panel in notification bar, numeric battery levels and improvements for the HTC One’s Ultrapixel rear camera. Users will be notified when the update is available for their devices, the update will be downloaded on the device itself over-the-air.

T-Mobile Cancels Galaxy Gear Orders Placed With Discount Code

T Mobile Cancels Galaxy Gear Orders Placed With Discount Code

Last week it was rumored that if customers used the FALLFUN30 discount code when buying a Galaxy Gear online from T-Mobile, they’ll be eligible for a 30 percent discount on the smartwatch’s $299.99 price. The rumor turned out to be true. Those who purchased the smartwatch from T-Mobile’s website and punched in this code during checkout received the discount, were able to bring the price down to $209.99. This wasn’t an officially sanctioned promotion by the carrier, so T-Mobile has decided to cancel all Galaxy Gear orders that were made using this discount code.

Last night the carrier started sending out generic emails to those who had used the code, informing them that their orders have been cancelled because T-Mobile is “unable to fulfill this transaction.” It assures those customers that their credit cards have not been charged, and invites them to reorder the Galaxy Gear from its website for the proper price. While T-Mobile does apologize for “any inconvenience” caused in the email, those who were quick enough to get their orders in aren’t probably going to be too psyched. Some might say that the carrier should have honored the discount at least for those customers who had got their orders in already, they probably would have expected it to do that. Nevertheless, the carrier has made its decision. Those who still want to purchase a Galaxy Gear from T-Mobile must be ready to shell out the correct $299.99 price.

T-Mobile To Get Sony Xperia Z1

T Mobile To Get Sony Xperia Z1Recently, T-Mobile did make some waves in the news by offering free and unlimited (2G) global data which comes in handy if you are just going to use your smartphone to send and receive emails as well as instant messages on apps, and this time around, the company has also piqued the interest of some by having a Sony Xperia Z1 render spotted with the T-Mobile logo, thanks to serial leaksters @evleaks.

After all, T-Mobile being one of the so-called “Big Four” mobile carriers in the US, ought to carry this flagship waterproof and dustproof device from Sony. We have already given the Sony Xperia Z1 a rather lengthy review just recently, so you might want to check out that particular review of ours before you make a decision as to whether to bring the Xperia Z1 under your fold of smartphones or not. At this point in time, it remains to be seen just when will T-Mobile make an official announcement concerning the exact date as to when the Sony Xperia Z1 will be made available, and neither do we have an inkling of the price detail. Sooner would be better than later, of course, so hopefully the folks at T-Mobile will not disappoint.

T-Mobile Confirms Unlimited (2G) Global Data At No Extra Cost

T Mobile Confirms Unlimited (2G) Global Data At No Extra CostWe’ve told you that this was coming earlier today, and T-Mobile just confirmed it with an official announcement, saying: “delivering unlimited global data at no extra charge in 100+ countries” (that includes SMS too). Unless something terrible is in the fine prints (like the alleged 2G speeds!), this is rather groundbreaking for any carrier in western countries. As far as I know, only select Japanese carriers did something like this before – but at a small cost ($10 to $20 per month). (more…)

T-Mobile’s Next Uncarrier Move Might Bring Global Data Service Without Extra Charges

T Mobiles Next Uncarrier Move Might Bring Global Data Service Without Extra Charges

T-Mobile’s uncarrier announcements started off earlier this year, when the carrier decided to shun conventional two year contracts and also decided to allow its subscribers to jump their upgrade cycles. In New York City this evening, Magenta is scheduled to make its third uncarrier announcements. Nothing has been officially revealed about this announcement as yet, other than the fact that Shakira is going to be there. A Facebook fansite for Shakira has posted a teaser image which reveals details about the announcement, whether or not the details are true, is an entirely different story. Its not like an image such as this is hard to fabricate.

As per the image, apparently T-Mobile subscribers’ data plan will essentially have a “passport,” affording them the luxury to have global data coverage in more than 100 countries. What’s enticing about this is the possibility of subscribers not being required to pay any extra charges for this privilege. The teaser image doesn’t mention if data service is going to be capped, which countries are going to be included and what price the subscribers will have to pay in order to get this data passport. We’re looking forward to the T-Mobile uncarrier announcement tonight, international data coverage being announced with an international star, blends together, does it not? [Image via Droidlife]
