AT&T CFO Skeptical About Sprint T-Mobile Merger

AT&T CFO Skeptical About Sprint T Mobile Merger

The entire idea behind a merger between Sprint and T-Mobile is to compete much more effectively against Verizon and AT&T. At least that’s the case the folks at Sprint and Softbank are trying to make. Regulators might not be so easily convinced. AT&T tried to buy T-Mobile US for itself back in 2011 for $39 billion but was shot down by regulators. The company’s CFO John Stephens is skeptical about the merger, he “doesn’t think” that its going to go through.

AT&T Mobile Share Value Plan Price Cut

The competition between four major U.S. carriers has heated up quite a bit in the past few months, with T-Mobile leading the charge on several new initiatives that have shaken up the wireless carrier industry. AT&T, the second largest national carrier, has gone on the offensive by implementing a new price cut, hoping to get a leg up on its rivals. The AT&T Mobile Share Value plan 2GB gets a $15 price cut and now stands at $65 per month. This price gives a customer with one phone line 2GB of data on AT&T’s 4G LTE network, as well as unlimited talk and text in the country.

T-Mobile Experiences 15 Times More BlackBerry Trade-Ins During Promotion

T Mobile Experiences 15 Times More BlackBerry Trade Ins During PromotionSome of you might recall that back in February, T-Mobile sent out some pretty troll-ish emails to BlackBerry customers, telling them to upgrade their phones to something else like the iPhone 5s. Naturally this did not sit well with BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, who is currently trying to turn the company around, and the last thing he needs is carriers to be unsupportive.

Thankfully T-Mobile had a change of heart and launched a new promotion that would basically allow customers to trade-in their older BlackBerry handsets for something newer by giving them credit as much as $200. However if that customer were to get a BlackBerry, they’d be given an extra $50 in credit. It turns out that the promotion was a success, according to a recent tweet by T-Mobile’s CMO, Mike Sievert. LG L90 Could Be Headed For T MobilePrior to MWC 2014, LG unveiled a trio of devices as part of their L-series lineup, and one of them was the LG L90. The handset was mid-ranged at best, but unfortunately at the time of announcement, LG did not share any plans regarding availability or pricing.

However the good news is that if you were looking for something mid-ranged and if LG has been impressing you as of late, you might be interested to learn that @evleaks has recently posted a photo onto Twitter which shows off the LG L90 as possibly being destined for T-Mobile. (more…)
