Google Nexus 4 To Hit T-Mobile Stores This Month

nexus4 tmo Google Nexus 4 To Hit T Mobile Stores This MonthTmoNews claims that all T-Mobile stores will be getting the highly sought after Google Nexus 4 from this month onwards, and this could point towards Google successfully (albeit slowly) resolve their niggling inventory issues surrounding this device, considering how the Nexus 4 had been a hit-and-miss affair on Google Play for quite some time already. Fret not, those of you who love to do all of your shopping online, the Google Nexus 4 will still remain available in the online store itself.

As for how word of the Nexus 4 arriving at T-Mobile stores came around, this was garnered from an internal email which was fired to retail locations, and the memo’s headline does suggest not too subtly that both T-Mobile and Google are going to move full steam ahead with an expanded availability. What was once available in just a few T-Mobile stores will soon arrive on a nationwide availability scale. Chances are you will be able to pick one up for $199 with an accompanying 2-year contract if you are interested.

T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9315 Announced

tmo bbcurve 9315 T Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9315 AnnouncedThe most affordable BlackBerry yet from T-Mobile has just been announced, where it comes in the form of the BlackBerry Curve 9315 which will run on the BlackBerry 7.1 operating system that is accompanied by 3G connectivity, delivering an easy-to-use package while providing the relevant tools required by customers to remain connected to those near and dear to them. And for business too, of course.

This is a no-frills BlackBerry device that will definitely roll back the years before the smartphone was characterized by a quad-core processor and a full touchscreen display. The BlackBerry Curve 9315 comes with the iconic QWERTY keyboard, built-in WiFi, Wi-Fi calling support, a dedicated BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) key, preloaded apps, a functional 3.2-megapixel camera with LED flash and digital zoom, a microSD memory card slot and an integrated FM radio. It will cost $49.99 alongside a two-year service agreement.

Certainly not a looker by today’s standards, and who knows, it might actually still find its fair share of fans, especially for those who love the throwback days of old where life was a whole lot more simpler.

Still Anxiously Refreshing Google Play For A Nexus 4? T-Mobile Stores Will Carry It In January

nexus-4-4g-lte

According to TmoNews, the Google Nexus 4 should become available in all T-Mobile stores starting in January. It could indicate that Google is slowly resolving inventory issues as the device has been hard to buy from Google Play. The device will remain available in the online store.

The news comes from an internal email sent to retail locations. As the headline of the memo suggests, T-Mobile and Google are going full-on with an expanded availability. The device was already available in a few T-Mobile stores, but it was nothing close to a nationwide availability

After being sold out, Google started referring U.S. customers to T-Mobile. T-Mobile customers could buy the 16GB Nexus 4 online for $199 on a 2-year contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate. For reference, Google is selling the 8GB Nexus 4 for $300 off-contract.

If a 2-year contract is something that you would be willing to do, you should expect the same price, as T-Mobile confirmed the $199 price tag in November. TmoNews believes that each store will only get a few units.

T-Mobile already announced back in November that it would carry the phone, but it was only available online in a few stores. Now, it will be available in-store across the country. Maybe even Google Play will get a reliable inventory soon.

Huawei puts Ascend P1 on sale in the US through Amazon for $450

Huawei Ascend P1 review lead

We’ve grown accustomed to the Huawei Ascend P1 ourselves, but most Americans haven’t had that same luxury without going through an importer. Huawei wants to be more accommodating, if somewhat belatedly: it’s now selling its mid-tier phone directly to the US through Amazon. Shelling out $450 gets the same 4.3-inch screen, dual-core 1.5GHz processor and lightly customized Android 4.0 as elsewhere, but in an unlocked form with a proper US warranty. The only real disappointment is that it’s not the LTE variant, although we’ll bite when there’s HSPA+ 3G for American GSM carriers like AT&T, Straight Talk and T-Mobile. If you’re willing to make the sacrifice for carrier independence, the Ascend P1 awaits at the source link.

Nexus 4 coming to all T-Mobile locations later this month

Having a hard time getting your hands on the coveted LG-made Nexus 4? Look to your local retailer: word on the street has it that the device is heading to all T-Mobile retail locations later this month. The phone has been available at select locations since November, but an internal document uncovered by TmoNews promises a full rollout for sometime in January — touting the Nexus 4’s 8MP camera, quad-core processor and 4.7-inch display. The notice didn’t give a specific availability date, but gave stores the green light to sell the device as soon as they receive inventory. The document is also careful to remind employees that the Nexus 4 can still be had through Google and stresses that devices purchased through Play are not eligible for exchange at T-Mobile stores. Skip on past the break to see T-Mobile’s availability expansion notice.

FCC Filing Outs ZTE Wombat For T-Mobile

FCC Filing Outs ZTE Wombat For T Mobile

The FCC is usually busy all-year round, but we’re sure they’re even more busy the closer we get to CES as they probably need to go through a ton of devices just before they’re officially announced during the biggest week in consumer electronics. One such device has just been discovered for T-Mobile called “Wombat.”

According to the FCC filing, the ZTE Wombat will support WCDMA in the 1700MHz band, Bluetooth support for GSM/EDGE in 850/1900MHz bands and will be made available on T-Mobile. The ZTE Wombat will be a bar-style phone combined with a QWERTY keyboard, a 2-megapixel camera, a 1,000mAh battery, microSD card slot and will run a non-smartphone operating system, instead being a mobile device intended for the most basic of needs such as phone calls, messaging and some media features.

The ZTE Wombat has yet to be officially announced by either ZTE or T-Mobile, but we’re sure we’ll be hearing more about the device once CES shows its face next week.

Is the Samsung SGH-T999L an LTE Galaxy S3 for T-Mobile?

samsung galaxy s3 review 10 640x426 Is the Samsung SGH T999L an LTE Galaxy S3 for T Mobile? Thanks to a recent sighting at the Bluetooth SIG website, a certain Samsung SGH-T999L has been sighted. Considering that the SGH-T999 is T-Mobile’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S3, the inclusion of the “L” at the end of the name has some speculating that perhaps this might be the LTE version of the Galaxy S3 designated for T-Mobile’s network. At the moment T-Mobile is the only  one of the four major carriers not to offer LTE. The carrier has plans to launch LTE networks in 2013 with upgrades already underway, so having a LTE version of the Galaxy S3 on their networks does make sense to a certain degree – not to mention it could be a way to attract customers by using one of Android’s most popular devices of 2012.

However since nothing has been confirmed yet, perhaps we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves. Not to mention with the Samsung Galaxy S4 presumably launching in 2013 as well, and unless this alleged LTE version of the Galaxy S3 launches early 2013, does T-Mobile need an LTE Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4 at the same time (assuming T-Mobile offers the Galaxy S4, of course)? Either way what do you guys think? Would you like to see a LTE-enabled Galaxy S3 being offered by T-Mobile?

ZTE Grand X for T-Mobile approved by the FCC

zte grand x t mobile fcc 1356370479 ZTE Grand X for T Mobile approved by the FCCIf you’re looking for an Android phone where the version of Android has been left untouched, your best bet would be to get a Nexus device. However if you want something else, ZTE might have something for you in the form of the Grand X. The device has recently been approved by the FCC and appears to be headed towards T-Mobile. Given its rather unassuming specs, we expect that this phone should be priced free on contract or perhaps at an extremely affordable price. So what can customers expect? The ZTE Grand X will sport a 4.3” IPS LCD display with a resolution of 960×540, a 5MP rear-facing camera, 1GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. No word on when exactly T-Mobile will be launching this phone, but if it is launched in 2013 then do not expect T-Mobile to offer any subsidy as per their plan, but at the very least you can expect it to be pretty affordable.
