Temple Run 2 Gets Cloud Support

Temple Run 2 Gets Cloud SupportImangi Studios, the ones behind the hugely popular Temple Run game as well as its sequel, is back with a reminder to the masses that they will be rolling out cloud support for Temple Run 2 tomorrow, allowing players to continue their running across different devices. This sense of continuity is a nice touch, but it is no life or death situation actually. After all, you would most probably have a primary device that you use such as a smartphone or tablet, and have Temple Run 2 installed there.

Temple Run Developer Shares Early Prototypes Of The Game

Imangi’s Temple Run probably isn’t as popular today as it was maybe a year or so ago, but that’s usually the case with mobile games. Most of the time these games garner a lot of interest at the start before it starts to become less popular, which is why developers like Rovio have to start branching out into other genres. (more…)

Temple Run Makes Its Long-Awaited Debut On Windows Phone

Temple Run Makes Its Long Awaited Debut On Windows Phone

Temple Run has been making millions of its players endlessly run to see how far they can get with their stolen idol ever since it was originally released back in the summer of 2011 on iOS. Imangi Studios released the Android version of Temple Run several months later in March 27 2012, and exactly one year later, Windows Phone finally gets the Temple Runs.

If you’re a Windows Phone user who is expecting to play Temple Run 2 on your device, you’ll be severely disappointed as this is the original Temple Run that has been released. In other words, don’t expect to endlessly run your way in the great outdoors as you zip-line and minecart your way through the game. (more…)

Temple Run: Oz The Great And Powerful Coming On February 27th

Temple Run: Oz The Great And Powerful Coming On February 27thWithout sounding biased, there’s no question that Temple Run 2 is awesome. I’ve played it on both Android and iOS, and it never fails to entertain. But if a new report is true, then Imangi Studios might be upping the ante once again by releasing a spin-off to the game  just weeks after announcing Temple Run 2. Cecile Fouques, a PR representative for Disney, tweeted that a new game called “Temple Run: Oz the Great and Powerful” is launching on February 27th. Fouques appears to have removed the tweet since it is now inaccessible. (more…)

Temple Run Is One Hot Download This Christmas

temple run download Temple Run Is One Hot Download This ChristmasI guess you know that smartphones and tablets are one hot ticket item this Christmas, otherwise how else do you explain the massive download of the Temple Run game over the Christmas period? Keith Shepherd, founder of Imangi Studios, the very same studio behind the highly addictive Temple Run game, just announced on Wednesday that their game received more than its fair share of love over Christmas. In fact, this game was downloaded over a million times on iOS, and also more than one million times on the Android platform. The good news does not stop there though, as Amazon’s Appstore also registered more than 500,000 downloads throughout the 24-hour period. This is definitely an achievement worth trumpeting about in the span of just one day. To put things in perspective, Temple Run was the top free and top grossing app on Apple’s App Store earlier this year, garnering more than 40 million downloads and 7 million daily active users. Users these days sure are fast and efficient in updating their devices, no?

Windows Phone 8 gets Pandora Radio, Cut the Rope, Urbanspoon and more (update: full list)

Windows Phone 8 gets Pandora Radio, Cut the Rope, Urbanspoon and more

Microsoft knows that Windows Phone 8 is only as successful as its apps. To that end, it’s blowing the doors open in terms of major app support. It’s not only promising a Windows Phone version of Pandora Radio for early 2013, it’s offering ad-free listening for the first year. How’s that for strong out-of-the-box content? On top of this, Microsoft is vowing a slew of new apps and games that had previously only been available in the Android or iOS camps, including Asphalt 7, Cut the Rope, Temple Run, Urbanspoon and Where’s My Water. By the time the expansion is done, Microsoft hopes to have 46 out of the 50 most popular apps onboard, making any platform switch that much gentler. Instagram is a notable omission — still, it’s a big leap in terms of equality.

Update: If you need even more detail, Microsoft has posted a wider list of new apps as part of its official Windows Phone 8 launch post. If that’s not enough, you can catch a video overview of the platform after the break.
