Late last month we mentioned that a Sony software manager overseas had tipped that The Last of Us would be heading to the PS4 game console this summer. At the time, we had no other proof that the game was in the works for the new console. That has now changed.

Today a banner turned up on the Sony Entertainment Network online store for The Last of Us Remastered for the PS4. The banner lists a price of $59.99 and says that you can pre-order the game now. Sadly, when you click that banner it gives to a page not found error.

That means one of two things. Either the banner is broken or someone went live with the banner before it was supposed to. Considering the banner has been up since early this morning and is still there as of this writing, it’s probably just broken.

Sony PlayStation 4 owners have something amazing to look forward to this summer. PlayStation’s Eurasian Software Market Manager Sercan Sulun let it slip on CNN Turk’s Multiplayer gaming show that The Last of US for PlayStation 4 is coming this summer. According to Sulun, the game is going to be available on PlayStation Network as well as on physical discs. Graphics are said to be improved.

Valentine’s Day is a little less than a month away and while we’re sure there are plenty of folks out there who have plans with their loved ones, there are also those who might not have plans and could be looking to stay home and do something else instead. Well if you fall into the latter camp or if you’re looking for a good reason to stay home on the romantic, albeit commercialized day, you might be interested to learn that the first DLC chapter for The Last of Us could be set for a Valentine’s Day release, at least according to the PlayStation Store promotional image that was captured by the folks at GameTrailers, which has also been confirmed by Sony Entertainment Network’s listing.

Assuming the information is accurate and final, the DLC which has been titled “Left Behind” will be priced at $14.99. The exact details of the DLC remains unknown at the moment, but actress Ashley Johnson revealed that the DLC will star a younger and more playful version of Ellie, one of the main characters in The Last of Us. In any case hopefully additional details will be revealed in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back with us later for the details! In the meantime maybe the 14th of February will be a date The Last of Us gamers will want to mark down on their calendars.

We’re sure some gamers might have been somewhat bummed when back in October, Naughty Dog community strategist, Eric Monacelli stated that the developer had no plans to bring The Last of Us to the new Sony PlayStation 4. Given the graphics of the game, we can only imagine the spectacular visuals that it would have if Naughty Dog were to bring it over to the PS4, but fret not gamers because not all hope is lost. In response to a question asked by a fan as to whether the company would bring the game onto the PS4, Naughty Dog’s latest response on the official PlayStation Blog revealed a somewhat optimistic “We’ll see,” which is admittedly a lot better than saying no outright.

According to Monacelli, “We’re just getting our Naughty Dog engine up and running on PS4 as we work on the next Uncharted project. We will see what the future brings! ” The Last of Us launched on the PS3 earlier this year in June after an initial delay with critical acclaim, with some voting the game as PS3 game of the year, and with the game having managed to ship about 3.4 million units to date, so we can only imagine those numbers climbing if they were to bring it onto the PS4 where gamers who did not have the PS3 might get it to see what all the fuss is about. In fact it wasn’t too long ago that Sony had registered a domain for a The Last of Us movie, although whether this was done just to protect the franchise or if a movie is in the works remains to be seen.
