Level 10 M gaming mouse from Thermaltake and BMW DesignworksUSA is very real

Now, a BMW that I can finally afford without having to sell off my firstborn – the Level 10 M gaming mouse that hails from Thermaltake and BMW Designworks USA. We talked about it earlier this year, and it seems that the Level 10 M gaming mouse has finally made the jump from concept to the real world. Just what kind of hardware do you think you can find underneath the chassis? We are looking at five programmable keys as well as a Z-key which allows you to select the corresponding gaming profile on the spot, sporting a default 5,000 DPI in its optical unit, although if the need arises and you have to cover more ground on the screen with the least amount of hand movement, you can always change that figure up to 8,200.

Aesthetically speaking, the Level 10 M gaming mouse does look as though it has out of this world performance – no idea if it will come with the tagline of “the ultimate mousing machine” or whether joy beckons, but definitely the holes drilled in the top of the mouse are not just there for aesthetic purposes, but rather to ensure you will continue to maintain a firm grip on it even if your palm sweats buckets during an intense gaming session. We are looking at a $100 price tag attached to the Level 10 M gaming mouse that boasts of a solid aluminum base and 3D Steering Axis Movement. Want to up your game with this puppy? Grab another look at the Level 10 M gaming mouse right after the jump. [Press Release] (more…)

BMW and Thermaltake’s Level 10 M gaming mouse is real, costs $100

BMW

Thermaltake and BMW DesignworksUSA’s Level 10 M gaming mouse has made the transition from concept to reality. Unlike its teasing appearance in January, the unit now has some real-world specifications, including five programmable keys and a Z-key that’ll change your gaming profile on the fly. The optical unit’s DPI was a closely guarded secret, but the companies have confirmed it’ll default to 5,000, but can be tweaked up to 8,200 if you need it. Sweaty-palmed gamers will appreciate the holes drilled in the top, preventing your secretions from loosing your grip from the handset. It’s available right now for $100, just make sure you’ve worked out if you’re gonna call it a “Beemer” or “Bimmer” before you buy — and yes, we’re resolutely in the former camp.

Update: Well, this is odd. The image above was supplied by BMW (give or take the odd creative addition), but Thermaltake’s version, included after the break, makes the unit look very different indeed.

Thermaltake cures clamminess with $80 Cyclone Edition gaming mouse

Thermaltake cures clamminess with $80 Cyclone Edition gaming mouse

Just when we needed a modern-day equivalent of sailing down the Nile while being fanned by Assyrian slaves, we get this: the Black Element Cyclone Edition gaming mouse, which has a 6,000 rpm rotor directed right at the point where slick skin meets plastic. Pictures of the device have been floating around the web for a while, but we’ve just heard from its creators — TT eSports, Thermaltake‘s sub-brand for peripherals — that it’ll be available in US stores any day now (or officially, “in August”) priced at $80. The patent pending design promises to keep noise down to a sub-environmental 21.7dB, while delivering an airflow of 2.6 cubic feet per minute — which, if you’re lucky, should be enough to not only keep your digits dry but also reach your palm. The fan can alternatively be removed, in which case you’ll be left with a 6,500 dpi laser sensor, an adjustable weight of up to 22.5 grams, “military-grade” grip coating and an abundance of natural oils.

Thermaltake puts external fan on Cyclone gaming mouse

What do you do when you break a sweat from all that PC gaming? You use a mouse that has an external fan mounted on it, that’s what you do. Thermaltake quite literally wants to blow you away with the new Tt eSports Element Cyclone gaming mouse, which is the first mouse for gamers that has a unique outside fan on it, designed to bring some cool relief to sweaty gamer hands.

Other mouse models have previously come with built-in fans, but the Cyclone Edition is the first to feature an external fan, making it really stand out against the rest. And if your hand gets too cold or the fan becomes a bit of a nuisance at any time, it can be detached from the mouse whenever you want. The fan operates pretty quietly, just at an output of about 21.7 dB.

The 30-millimeter fan operates at up to 6,000 RPM, and because it has to support the fan, it doesn’t work wirelessly. While it sure is unique, the reality is that it may only be super effective at cooling the top of your hand and leaving your palm still pretty sweaty.

No pricing or information on global availability of the Cyclone gaming mouse has been provided by Thermaltake just yet.

Thermaltake intros Black Element Cyclone Edition mouse with fan and adjustable weight

Yes, you read the title right. It’s a mouse with a fan. Finally, a relief to my sweaty palms dilemma. Computer parts manufacturer Thermaltake has recently introduced its Black Element Cyclone Edition gaming mouse that is equipped with a small fan. The 30mm fan can reportedly operate up to 6,000 RPM. And if you are worried about getting distracted from the fan’s noise, Thermaltake said that it will operate quietly, just around 21.7 dB. Thermaltake also added that its Black Element Cyclone Edition gaming mouse can last up to 50,000 hours, or roughly 6 years.

On the other hand, the mouse has a customizable laser DPI engine of 100-6500 DPI and nine macro keys with five different macro profiles. And because of the extra power needed to operate the fan, the Black Element Cyclone Edition gaming mouse isn’t wireless. Users will simply have to plug the mouse into a USB port to start using it. An even better feature of the mouse is the capability to adjust its weight. This allows users to adjust the weight of the mouse accordingly, depending on their preference. Availability and pricing has yet to be announced.
