Day and Night Mug adds some flavor to the pantry

day-and-night-mugMost pantries are pretty boring, and that is to be expected. After all, it is the place where you put plenty of mugs, plates, as well as various beverages, with all of the office gossip happening over at the water cooler. Well, instead of carrying around one of those standard issue mugs with a company logo on it, or something that used to be witty, or perhaps even the “World’s Best Dad” mug, why not try something which is very different – in the form of the $9.99 Day and Night mug?

This is a unique mug which boasts of heat sensitive qualities, where it will show you the entire planet in its glory – right from outer space, of course. Needless to say, it comes with a “default setting” that is night, after all, you aren’t going to fill it up with hot water all the time, are you? This would let you know just when it is time to finish off that favorite beverage of yours before it becomes too cold. Basically, it works this way – whenever you add any hot beverage into the mug, the sun would arise and cause its face to shine over the entire earth as you enjoy a bird’s eye view of this planet we call home. As always, just like all of the other heat sensitive items that we have talked about before, neither is the Day and Night mug dishwasher or microwave safe.

Birksun 6 Watt Solar Backpack makes like a Superman

birksunIt is rather common knowledge by now that Kal-El, or rather, Superman as he is more commonly known, loves the sun. After all, he does get recharged by it to a certain extent. Well, you too, are able to harness the power of the sun with the $159.99 Birksun 6 Watt Solar Backpack, and you do not even need to be some sort of super being in the first place to do so, although it would be way too cool if you had that kind of superpowers that Clark Kent has. The Birksun 6 Watt Solar Backpack will be able to explain itself, so to speak, where it happens to be a backpack that comes equipped with a solar charging panel of its own. Not only that, this is a TSA-approved piece of luggage, so you need not worry about having your padlocks cut away when you arrive at your destination.

In addition, the Birksun 6 Watt Solar Backpack would do its part to make sure that whatever gadgets that you have (which will obviously need to be compatible with the right connectors) will be juiced up using the sun’s rays alone, so we would warrant a no-brainer of a guess that it works best during the summer months where sunlight is aplenty. The Birksun 6 Watt Solar Backpack will play nice with the iPhone 5 as well as some of its predecessors, in addition to majority of the Android-powered handsets out there. It is said that a single hour of sunlight is able to generate up to a 25% charge boost for most smartphones, and during those cloudy days, just use the included USB cable to charge up at home and you’re good to go.

“Talking” Tauntaun Stuffed Animal Will Keep You Warm at Night

The Tauntaun was the best way to get around the frigid surface of the ice planet Hoth. It was also the place to keep warm if you were hypothermic, assuming you have a friend with a lightsaber ready to cut the beast open. ThinkGeek has a cute little Tauntaun plush that you don’t have to gut to keep you comfy at bedtime.

The little stuffed animal looks like a cuter cartoon version than the rather ugly horned animal Luke rode in The Empire Strikes Back. When you squeeze the stuffed animal it makes authentic sounding noises that you’ll recognize from the film. You know, things like “RRREREOREROOERRRRR….”

The plush toys were made for Star Wars Celebration Europe II, and carry that name on the foot. Each one measures 12-inches toes to ears and 15-inches nose to tail.

ThinkGeek says that these are very limited edition and once they’re gone, no more will be produced. So put on your warmest winter garb and head over there now to pick up your own stuffed Tauntaun for $29.99(USD).

I wonder if you could install a zipper into its chest and stick your Luke Skywalker action figure inside.

Tauntaun 12″ Talking Plush looks cute

tauntaun-plushAre you a huge fan of Star Wars? It is a space opera that has full of intrigue, action, and some romance thrown into the mix as well. Most of the themes tend to be rather grown up in nature, but once in a while, it is nice to make things smaller – so that it looks cuter. Tauntauns tend to be cute in the first place if you like real life animals like camels and the yak, except that this is part of a science fiction setting. This $29.99 Tauntaun 12″ Talking Plush loves to be hugged, as when that happens, it will be able to make little bleats and gurgles.

Not only is it cute, it is also highly collectible, since it is made in limited quantities being a Star Wars Celebration Europe II (2013) exclusive. This makes it the ideal addition to for any serious Star Wars collector, where it boasts a tridactyl rear foot which sports a “Star Wars Celebration Europe” that is embroidered at the bottom. Once the pair of LR44 batteries die off, he will no longer bellow whenever you hug his neck. Well, what are you waiting for? Once they’re gone, they’re literally extinct unless you scour online auction and sales sites.

Now Anyone Can Kick Around the Empire

Now Anyone Can Kick Around the Empire

Every once in a while you come across a piece of Star Wars merchandise and wonder how it took so long for Lucas’ or Disney’s giant merchandise-o-tron computer to make the connection. A Death Star soccer ball (football for our overseas readers, or inflatable kick bag for you non-sports types) seems so obvious you’d have expected George Lucas himself to have doodled the design between takes on the original Star Wars films, but sadly it’s taken ’til now for it become a reality.

If you’re a big fan of the Mass Effect franchise, you’ll undoubtedly remember the M-6 Carnifex pistol. The company has a limited edition of 500 Carnifex replica pistols available for the entire world. The highly detailed replica isn’t exactly cheap at $399.99(USD), but I guarantee you it’s cheaper than having your own replica commissioned. ThinkGeek says that this is a full-scale replica of the game weapon.

Zombie Garden Gnomes Aren’t as Creepy as Normal Garden Gnomes

I’ve never been a fan of garden gnomes, honestly they are little disconcerting. I always had the sense that they’re watching me and is waiting for nightfall when they’ll creep into the house and stuff Tic-Tacs up my nose until I suffocate. For some reason I don’t find these zombie garden gnomes nearly as creepy as the regular ones – go figure.

These would be perfect decorating your garden for Halloween. ThinkGeek has four different zombie garden gnome styles including the survivor, zombie, rising, and evil versions. Each individual zombie garden gnome is between nine and 11.4-inches tall and made from resin.

The only exception is the zombie version (the one with the blue outfit), which is actually made from terracotta.

I particularly like the survivor gnome because he has a machine gun and it says “Say hello to my little friend” underneath. The gnomes sell for $19.99(USD) each, or you can get the survivor and zombie version in a bundle for $29.99. We’ve seen some other zombie gnomes in the past, but ThinkGeek has machine guns (plus they’re cheaper.)
