Darth Vader Toaster Gets an Upgrade

Darth Vader toasterIn 2008, we did an article about a Darth Vader toaster that was considered a must have for Star Wars junkies. Well, the toaster just got an upgrade.  The new version is shaped just like the Dark Lord’s helmet and is the ultimate addition to your kitchen counter.  The toaster burns the Star Wars logo on one side and the image of Darth Vader on the other.

This new toaster is coming out in July and can be pre-ordered from Bigbadtoystore.com to have proudly displayed on your kitchen counter for a mere $44.99.

Darth Vader Toaster: Your Lack of Butter is Disturbing

This Darth Vader toaster will use the force to turn your bread over to the dark side. Or at least golden brown. And of course it also burns the image of the Dark Lord of the Sith and the Star Wars logo onto your toast.

As if that isn’t cool enough, the toaster itself is shaped just like Darth Vader’s helmet. So if you have always wanted to cook with Vader’s cranium, this is the toaster for you. If you don’t have one, you are just not a nerdy-enough Star Wars fan.

It will cost you $44.99(USD) from bigbadtoystore. Preorder it now for delivery this July and feel the dark side of the toast.

Watchmen Rorschach Toaster: Bread Will Look up and Shout “Save Us!”, and I’ll Whisper, “No.”

Lambert’s Technabob post. December 20th, 2013. Cheap cash-in online this morning, legendary comic book character reduced to novelty item. I am afraid of this culture. I don’t know if it has a face, but it does have a thousand gaping maws. The sites are extended PR machines and the PR machines are filled with… holy crap it’s a toaster that makes Rorschach patterns!

I think the most depressing thing about this is how uninspired the toaster looks. It’s just a plain plastic case with a Watchmen decal slapped on it. I think we should just all treat this as a reference to the psychological test and not to Walter.  Okay? Okay. You can order the inkblot test toaster from Amazon for about $32 (USD).

Foaster Dock Toasts iPhones with Lightning Cables

Designer Mike Charles wanted to have a dock for his iPhone that would not only reduce cable clutter but blend in his kitchen as well. He ended up with the Foaster, a dock for the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C that looks just like a toaster. He gets bonus points for not naming it the iToaster.

The Foaster has a plastic body with aluminum trim. It will come with two MFi-certified Lightning-to-USB cables so you can charge up to two iPhones at once. Sadly, unlike a real toaster its slots are not spring-loaded. The phones won’t sink when you plug them in and they certainly won’t pop off when they’re done charging. But at least you can easily plug and unplug your iPhone from the dock.

Pledge at least $79 (USD) on Kickstarer to get a Foaster as a reward. What’s next? Foven for iPads?

Toaster Hat Keeps Your Head Toasty

…and the fact that it looks like a cowboy hat makes it perfect for cooking up some Texas Toast. It’s perfect for cowboys with a need for toast on the range.

toaster hat

DeviantArtist Fox-Blue had this a toaster just laying around (and a dream to be a toast-eating cowboy) so he made this toaster hat. I would call it a breakfast stetson.

In fact, why can’t butlers and waitpeople wear these? It would be nice for the toast to pop out as soon as they reach your table. Here’s your toast, sir. Will there be anything else? I think he’s on to something here.

PaRappa the Toaster: Kick! Punch! Toast!

PaRappa the Rapper is one of the quirkiest games ever made. So it’s only appropriate for it to have an unusual merchandise. eBay seller xdeath_5 is auctioning off what he claims is a rare PaRappa the Rapper official Space Age Printing toaster.

I don’t exactly get how it works, but it has these metal “printing slides”…

… that seem to be stored in a slot in the back of the toaster. I assume that the metal bits can be slid into the toaster to create images on your bread.

xdeath_5 claims that the toaster still works, just that it’s missing one printing slide and “the pictures don’t appear well on wheat bread.” I guess you just gotta believe that it works. Bid at least $100.99 (USD) on eBay to get a chance to take this rad little toaster home. The auction ends in about 2 days as of this writing, so chop chop!

Domo Toaster

Domo ToasterBreakfast time (as well as tea time, as one can always have buttered toast during tea, too) is said by some to be the most important meal of the day, so why not make it a fun time while you are at it? Do not just settle for any ordinary toaster, especially when you can have some fan art burned right into your slices of bread in the form of the $49 Domo Toaster. I don’t think that you need anyone to tell a Domo-kun fan that this is the toaster to purchase the next time the missus or mom mentioned in passing that their toaster is kaput.

The Domo Toaster does not only look extremely cool, it is also very light to tote around, and most importantly, it will be able to make Domo faces on your toast, so much so that you might even feel bad for biting into your toast. Would you pick up the Domo Toaster if you had a choice for other designs?

Image Toaster Prints the Latest Images on Your Morning Toast

A picture speaks a thousand words. It might be hard to discern 6×6 pixel images on your morning toast, but at least you’ll be able to get a headstart on everyone when it comes to the day’s newest images on Google with the help of the Image Toaster.

The Image Toaster basically ‘prints’ (or rather, ‘toasts’) random new images from Google onto your toast. It was created by Dutch designer Scott van Haastrecht for a school project, but it has the potential to be something big.

His toaster is still a prototype and needs to be tethered to a computer to work, although Scott explains that the final version of the toaster should be able to function via Wi-Fi and will only need a power cord to function.

Printing news or the most recent social media feeds on your morning toast? That could be a reality one day.

Adjustable Bread And Sandwich Toaster

How would you like your toast to be like, sir? Some of us are all right with just fruits for breakfast, while the others prefer something more filling, and a sandwich, bacon, eggs, and some toast with yummy jam would be more ideal – with a pot of coffee on the side, of course. Well, the $129.95 Adjustable Bread And Sandwich Toaster would make for a wholesome addition to your kitchen.

This two-slice toaster will be able to toast entire sandwiches, thanks to a clever modification to the toasting chamber that can expand by up to 2.3″ through a simple slide of the lever, and it will accommodate the included metal sandwich basket. The basket itself will hold the contents of a turkey melt or ham and cheese sandwich, letting the toaster brown both sides of the sandwich equally without prejudice, while melting away any cheese. It also has an adjustable-width toasting slot that holds bagels, small baguettes, and croissants in a jiffy, offering easy removal of toasted items.

You can select from ten browning settings of toast bread from a light brown to a dark walnut color, while there is a bagel setting that toasts the interior while gently warming the exterior of bagels. Bread lovers ought not to miss this.
