ChargeLight does more than just light up your world

It is said that every home should own a torchlight of their own, at least a couple would be good, as you can never quite tell just when you will need to “call” upon it. Of course, there is also the issue of ensuring that you have the right amount of batteries (as well as size) to go along with those torchlights, otherwise it would be about as effective as an ordinary paperweight. This is one of the reasons why those hand cranked torchlights are pretty popular, although after a while, the internal battery sort of dies and cannot hold a charge any more – making it unfit for use unless there are two people around – one to crank it, and the other to work with his/her hands. Not only that, it emits a fair amount of noise which is bound to attract attention in a zombie apocalypse, and that is a huge no-no. This is where the ChargeLight comes in handy.

The ChargeLight comes with a couple of tools on offer which are essential to our connected lives, namely power and light. This is an elegant, portable LED flashlight that not only provides light, but it also has the capability to double up as a battery pack for just about any USB device, and these will include the iPhone, iPad, and Android-powered devices among others. Not only that, it will come in a lightweight form factor that is also sleek, making it a snap to tote around in your pocket or purse, without having to worry that there is a possibility of dead batteries coming into the picture.

The ChargeLight has an extremely low internal discharge rate, where it is capable of lasting over a year without having to be juiced up. LED lights will show off just how much battery life there is left, letting you know when you have power, and making it easy to check at a glance. You can charge it via the included dock or use a USB adaptor, whichever floats your boat. Oh yeah, the dock itself is also a charging hub for multiple devices simultaneously. You can choose between 100%, 50% and 10% light power based on your needs, and it is up for pre-order at $99.99 a pop, with shipping to commence this September.

Torchlight II Hack Allows You to Reset Skills Infinitely: Respec My Dodge Mastery

One of the defining features of Diablo III is my utter disappointment with it. Another is its skill system, which lets players shuffle their characters’ learned skills at any point in the game. On the other hand, Torchlight II uses a more traditional skill tree system. Players can only reallocate the last three skill points they used, otherwise they’re stuck with their build. Unless you had an item called a Potion of Respec, which lets you reallocate all of your skill points. This hack lets you have as many bottles of that potion as you want.

torchlight ii potion of respec hack

The hack involves replacing a file inside a folder in the Torchlight II application with an edited version, which was uploaded by Runic Games Fansite member chewtoy. That edited file will fill the player’s Shared Stash with Potions of Respec. That’s 40 potions, but I guess you can re-paste the file if you need more. Here’s a guide courtesy of YouTuber MaguzEx. Skip to 1:10 in the video for the walkthrough:

You can download the edited file on Runic Games Fansite. Note that doing this will essentially replace whatever is in your Shared Stash with the potions, so be sure to move the contents of your Shared Stash elsewhere before doing this hack if you don’t want to lose those items. I highly recommend backing up your saves just in case something goes wrong. Also, other members of RGF seem to be having trouble making the hack work in non-Steam copies of Torchlight II, i.e. the hack might not work if you didn’t buy the game from Steam.

[Spoiler] Torchlight II Has a Guest from the Other Side of the Borderlands

Two of the most well-received games this year are both sequels, which were also released within a few days of each other: Torchlight II and Borderlands 2. It turns out these two games shared more than just a launch week, they also shared a robot:

torchlight ii borderlands 2 claptrap

Yep, that’s CL4P-TP aka Claptrap. Actually that’s a lot of Claptraps. Redditor anti087 was messing around with Torchlight II’s console commands when he discovered that he could summon the robot from Borderlands 2. According to several Redditors, to summon a unit in Torchlight II, all you have to do is bring up the console and type “unit monstername, x” or “monster monstername, x”, where monstername is the name of whatever it is you want to summon and x is the number of units of that monster that you want to appear. For example, if you want to summon one Claptrap, you can type in “unit claptrap,1″ or “monster claptrap,1″ (minus the quotes).

But why can you summon a Claptrap unit in Torchlight II?  Because he’s actually in the game as an Easter egg! Here’s proof from YouTuber pronstorestiffi:

Did he just give away his nut? Gross.
