Torchlight 2: More Than 1 Million Copies Sold

torchlight2 thanks Torchlight 2: More Than 1 Million Copies SoldRunic Games has expressed their gratitude and thanks to over a million fans of the game Torchlight 2 which has sold over a million copies, especially after the gamers themselves were required to wait after a delay in the production, resulting in Torchlight 2 hitting the market later than many of us had expected. I guess this shows that good things come to those who wait, and gamers are not an impatient bunch of folk who do not appreciate a good thing when they see one. Hopefully other developers would be able to realize this and not rush through their titles in the years to come.

The Seattle-based studio thanked their fans as Torchlight 2 passed the one million sales mark, and tweeted, “We had an amazing 2012, and proud to say that #Torchlight2 has sold over 1 million units! Thank you! Happy New Year’s Eve everyone icon smile Torchlight 2: More Than 1 Million Copies Sold ” This title saw several delays in 2012, making many people wonder whether this PC exclusive title would actually roll out before 2012 was over. We’re glad that they made it, and here is to the next million!

Max Schaefer interested in adding building tools to Torchlight 2

While games like Diablo and Torchlight are fun in their own right and in a clickfest kind of way, we guess after a while it does get somewhat repetitive and boring. Runic Games’ Max Schaefer in an interview with Indie Game Magazine Radio revealed that he hopes to introduce changes to the company’s latest game, Torchlight 2, and make the game more dynamic as opposed to just killing monsters and looting them and moving on. While this is in no way a confirmation of the upcoming features, Schaefer revealed that he would like to see creation tools being introduced to the game. (more…)

Torchlight 2 for Mac still a couple of months away

It was just last week that Runic Games officially released their highly anticipated Torchlight 2 RPG for Windows. Unfortunately for Mac OS gamers, if Torchlight 2 is a game you would love to play on your computer and don’t want to have to shell out money for Boot Camp and Windows, it looks like you will be in for a wait. According to Runic Games’ CEO, Max Schaefer (via Reddit), he revealed that the Mac OS version of Torchlight 2 is on the agenda of things to do, but unfortunately it is still a couple of months away from being completed at the very least. This is pretty disappointing news for Mac OS gamers who were hoping to get their hands on the game in a timely manner, but we guess better late than never, right? In the meantime, it seems that gamers who use the Linux platform have not been forgotten too and support for Linux will be added in the future. Until then, gamers on Windows who have forgotten about the release will be able to get their hands on it via Steam or on the Torchlight 2 website.

Torchlight 2 developers sign off on Act 2, still has some way to go

RPG gamers, if you’ve been looking forward to Runic Games’ Torchlight 2, you might recall that a while back, the developers stated that they were trying for an end of summer release. Well in a recent update to the game’s progress, Runic Games’ Travis Baldree stated that the team has finally given Act 2 of the game a “pass” and are currently working on character class skills to ensure that everything is in order before they release the game. Torchlight 2 is expected to comprise of four different acts so it looks like the team still has Act 3 and Act 4 left to go through before they deem the game worthy for a release. It looks like they are keeping to a very tight schedule so here’s hoping that they are able to make that end of summer timeframe! However hypothetically speaking, assuming the game is delayed, would you be bummed or would you rather they take their time and release a more polished product? In any case you can check out the progress and updates they made so far in the Runic Games’ forums.

Torchlight 2 is still on track for a summer release

With Diablo 3 launched and making its rounds for a couple of months now, it seems like now could be a good time as any to launch Torchlight 2, a game by Runic Studios which some consider to be a possible competitor to the Diablo franchise. Well the good news is that if Diablo 3 disappointed you majorly with its bugs, errors and issues, you might be pleased to learn that Torchlight 2 is apparently still on track for a summer launch. This was revealed by Runic Games’ president Travis Baldree  who was quoted as saying, “The end of summer is September 25th or something like that, right?
