Toys R Us’ Stock Of Next Gen Consoles Sold Out

Toys R Us’ Stock Of Next Gen Consoles Sold Out It is a blow-for-blow account when it comes to the next generation of video game consoles, namely the Xbox One and the Sony PS4. When Sony’s PS4 was introduced, it sold over a million units in under 24 hours, and many people were certainly looking forward as to whether Microsoft’s Xbox One is also able to do the same – and the good news is, the Xbox One held its own as well, selling over a million units, too, in less than 24 hours. Toys R Us, one of the larger retailers around, has assured buyers for Black Friday that they will have Xbox One as well as PS4 bundles for sale from 12:01 am Eastern time tonight, but apparently, all of that stock has already sold out in such a short period of time.

This underlines the huge popularity of both consoles among gamers, and this kind of demand does not seem as though it is going to stop anytime soon as the holiday season kicks off. Are you still on the lookout for either the PS4 or the Xbox One, but are continually disappointed because both consoles seem to be sold out just about everywhere you turn and look to? Hopefully your “quest” will be fulfilled soon.

Toys R Us Unveils Tabeo e2 Tablet For Kids

Toys R Us Unveils Tabeo e2 Tablet For KidsBack in 2012, Toys R Us unveiled a tablet of their own making catered towards children called the Tabeo. The device was not the most impressive tablet we’ve seen, but then again a child does not really need all that processing power, right? For those who are looking for a tablet for their child but don’t want to spend obscene amounts of money on a “proper” one from Apple or Samsung, Toys R Us has announced the successor to the 2012 Tabeo in the form of the Tabeo e2.

Once again the hardware on the Tabeo e2 is not the focus, but for those wondering, it will be powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor, sport an 8” 1024×768 display, come with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via SD card. The software on the tablet will be based on Android 4.2 and will come with a children’s app store where thousands of free apps can be downloaded.

The tablet ill also come bundled with educational apps along with a host of parental controls. Targeted at children aged 6 to 11 years old, the Tabeo e2 will be available for purchase come October for a somewhat affordable price of $149.

The Tabeo e2, which is an inch bigger than its predecessor, comes with a dual-core 1 GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB of in-built storage, which can be bolstered via its up-to 64GB microSD card slot. Up front, you’ve got an 8-inch 1,024 x 768 multitouch display, displaying Android 4.2, with all of the parental controls and child-friendly apps you’d expect from such a device. If you’re looking for something to keep the rugrats occupied whilst you gaze lovingly at your new 4K TV, the e2 will launch in October for $150.

Target Launches Year-Round Price Match Of Online Retailers

Target Launches Year Round Price Match Of Online Retailers

We don’t know about you, but when it comes to shopping, we prefer to do it from the comfort of our home while sipping a chilled glass of Hi-C and reading the latest Cracked magazine. Forget for a minute how reading a magazine and shopping online wouldn’t make any sense and let’s move on to why you’re here: Target is announcing a year-round price match with online retailers.

Now, before you get excited about a bargain you found on UncleWilliesHouseOfDeals.net that you plan to bring in to Target in order to get a 110-inch HDTV into your pickup truck for $.28, there are some limitations to the price matching with online retailers. First off, it needs to be a way more legitimate retailer such as Amazon, Walmart, BestBuy, ToysRus, and, ironically, Target’s online website.

Target shoppers will also be able to demand their price match before or after a product was purchased from their stores. All you’ll need to do is make a trip to the lovely Target Guest Services section of the store to show them proof of the price difference, and Target will match that price.

Target’s year-round price match of online retailers goes into affect immediately.

tabeo tablet is now official at Toys “R” Us stores

It was not too long ago (a month thereabouts, in fact) when Toys “R” Us announced their very first ever consumer electronics device that was specially developed and designed by the company, tabeo, resulting in a tabeo tablet for kids. Hey, you know the saying – monkey see, monkey do, and kids these days look up to parents (and it has always been that way for generations) as their idol and inspiration. So dad and mom both own a tablet of their own, why not them? The thing is, a kid is not really able to appreciate all the fine lines of the iPad, not to mention its fragility in the hands of a boisterous toddler, so this is the basis for a birth of a tablet known as tabeo.

tabeo is a spanking new 7-inch, multi-touch tablet that will arrive with 50 free, pre-installed apps, ensuring that these apps are able to engage and entertain kids right out of the box. Of course, knowing the kind of dangers that accompany unsupervised Internet use, the tabeo will come with its fair share of safety features for parents to make full uthat parents are proving to appreciate. The nationwide rollout included the launch ose of, and appreciate along the way.

Just to recap, some of the features include noise-cancelling headphones and colorful earbuds, and there is also a bunch of accessories where Toys R Us intends to make money from, ranging from stylish folio cases to supplementary AC adaptors. All of these can be found over at Tabeo.com, which you can call it a one-stop place or the ultimate online hub for consumers who want to know more about tabeo’s features.

Troy Peterson, Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager, Toys”R”Us, U.S., said, “Consumer demand for tabeo has been very strong since we announced its introduction last month, and we’re proud to roll out this exciting new kid-friendly tablet to consumers nationwide. Eager shoppers and early gift-givers finally have the chance to check this item off their kids’ wish lists, and will be pleased to find that there is an entire ecosystem of accessories, such as earbuds, cases and more that come in fun colors, helping to build on kids’ tabeo experience.”

Rovio hints at Angry Birds tie-in with Star Wars on October 8th, Red Bird Five standing by

Rovio hints at Angry Birds tiein with Star Wars on October 8th, Red Bird Five standing by

The green pigs have had their moment in the sun: it’s time for the Angry Birds to come back. Rovio Mobile has posted a teaser of a collaboration between its frustrated avians and Star Wars that will get a grand reveal on October 8th at Toys R Us’ Times Square location in New York City. No clear giveaways exist as to what’s coming, although Rovio is promising animations, comics and other material in the weeks ahead — we imagine it means more than a toy line, as unique as that can be. But does it mean an Angry Birds Space add-on that goes well beyond the Martian landscape, an entirely new game or something else altogether? We’ve asked the company for more details and will let you know if we’re given more information. In the meantime, get ready for what’s likely to be a geek culture explosion.

    [Thanks, Jaakko]

Toys R Us launches family-friendly internet movie service, plans Tabeo access, HD video and more

Toys R Us launches family-friendly internet movie service, plans Tabeo access, HD video and more

Like Amazon, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble before it, Toys R Us is following the path of being a retailer distributing its own branded hardware (Tabeo, Nabi) with an accompanying app store, and then supplementing those offerings with a digital media service. ToysrusMovies.com is a Rovi-powered digital storefront currently available to PCs, Macs and other Flash compatible devices, with an app planned for the Tabeo soon, as well as Blu-ray players, HDTVs and other mobile devices including iOS and Android. The content consists of “more than 4,000” titles from big names like Disney, Fox, NBCUniversal and more, available for 24-hour rental starting at $2.99, and $5.99 for download or streaming. Right out of the gate its scored an early release of Madagascar 3 two weeks before the disc release, currently a $16 purchase with “unlimited” streaming to activated devices, with downloads to up to 5 devices. Now of course, all it needs is some compatible devices, but building an ecosystem is a process, and may be key to separating Toys R Us’ offerings from the competition. Check out more details in the press release after the break or at the site.

Children’s tablet maker suing Toys R Us over Tabeo design

Children's tablet maker suing Toys R Us over Tabeo design

Currently lawsuits are all the rage in the tech industry, however it’s somewhat of a sad day when the ill-effects of corporate hardball trickle down to children’s toys. Nabi tablet maker Fuhu filed a lawsuit at a San Diego, California federal court claiming that mega retailer Toys R Us stole its product’s trade secrets for the development of its forthcoming Tabeo tablet for children. Fuhu alleges that last year Toys R Us agreed to exclusively carry the Nabi tablet in order to gain access to confidential information before launching a tablet of its own. The partnership between the two companies ended in January and Toys R Us has since announced its plans to release its Tabeo tablet this fall. Fuhu is suing for an undisclosed sum and requesting that Toys R Us relinquish its stock of Tabeo tablets. It’s too early to tell if this lawsuit will have an impact on the Tabeo’s launch plans, but if Fuhu has its way, Toys R Us will receive a lump of coal and a court order this holiday season. Bah, humbug!

Even Toys"R"Us Has a Tablet Now [Tablets]

Toys”R”Us has taken a good long look at the increasingly crowded Android tablet market and decided it wants a minuscule sliver too. So starting October 1st, every child’s favorite store will start selling a seven-inch, $150 Android device called the Tabeo (Tabby-oh? Tabe-e-oh?) targeted at younger users. More »

Tabeo tablet from Toys R Us listed for $150

Toys R Us has just posted a new listing for their child-centric 7” tablet that runs on the Android operating system from Google, calling it the Tabeo. How cliched, but I guess that should still be able to capture the attention of the masses. Priced for $150 a pop, the Tabeo will go on sale from October 1st onwards, and according to the Wall Street Journal (subscription required), additional details will be announced later today. Images on the site (as you can see above, courtesy of Engadget) do point towards a rather conventional design.

All in all, the Tabeo does seem to point towards a tablet that caters more for the older kids compared to the younger generation, but it does seem to have its fair share of features that do cater to the younger age group. What do you think – is the Tabeo on your Christmas shopping list for this year? Or perhaps your little one might want to settle for something that is far more “adult”?
