Rapid Reload Double Marshmallow Blaster

There is nothing quite like recollecting all that had happened in the past, those snazzy adventures and near misses with the rest of your progeny around a campfire, roasting marshmallows in one hand while keeping warm with some hot chocolate in a mug in the other. The thing is, you can also do so indoors, but here we are with another different use for tasty marshmallows – as ammunition. Wait a minute, didn’t mother always tell us not to play with our food? Well, times have changed, and you can have some tasty fun with the $29.95 Rapid Reload Double Marshmallow Blaster.

This unique blaster will be able to pelt your targets with not one, but two barrels-full of plump, harmless marshmallows, and we are not talking about a short range, but rather, hitting your intended target up to 30′ away. Needless to say, the power that this thing packs makes me wonder whether there will be curious kids who would use other stuff apart from marshmallows as its ammunition, and this might be dangerous.

Barbie Photo Fashion Doll – Because Fashion and Photos Just Go Together

I played with Barbies when I was a kid, I can’t say it was a very lengthy period of my childhood.I guess Barbie just got a little boring after a while, although I owned a newer Barbie-type concept, it was a doll that came with 3 heads, so you could pop on a different one if you desired a different look. Looking back, it was more than a little strange. Looking forward… isn’t it amazing how far we’ve come?

Check out Barbie Fashion Photo Doll, with a camera lens lodged between her shoulder blades, whatever pictures you snap, Barbie can “wear” on her cool graphic tee! You understood it correctly, you can customize Barbie’s t-shirt by taking photos with the embedded digital camera and those pictures then show up on the shirt, as they are, or customized with some included special effects.

Barbie can hold up to 200+ pictures and the camera controls are cleverly incorporated into Barbie’s belt. For more design options, your little techie fashionista can plug the doll into a computer via included USB cable and have access to more backgrounds and graphics. Then, when she’s done, she simply uploads the pics back to the Photo Fashion Doll and her t-shirt “fashion” is complete.

The 11.5 inch Barbie comes complete with an embedded digital camera and LCD screen, a doll stand, a pink USB cord, rechargeable battery, and instructions, all for under 50 bucks at amazon.com (internet connection required for added editing effects)

Furby: u-nye-loo-lay-doo?

Every year as the weather starts to turn cooler and the kids go back to school, I start to get a feel for the holiday presents I will need to get my hands on right away, for whatever reason smack in the middle of September, it all becomes crystal clear… time to dust off my credit card and grab one or two things that I know I probably wont be able to get my hands on if I wait!

Let me reintroduce you to Furby, a cool little critter you might remember from the late 90′s… Well, he’s back, and better than ever, with more expressive LCD eyes, a wider range of motions, and of course, its own iOS app. Furby responds to music or your voice, likes to be tickled or played with, and actually develops a personality based on the way you treat him.

You should know that Furby primarily speaks Furbish, but don’t worry, you can get some help with that, by downloading the free app that can give you a hand with translating, and the more you speak to your Furby, the more English he will eventually learn.

So if you think your child would enjoy a crazed, screaming little faux fur rodent-owl robot that will most certainly drive you 1000 miles past crazy – then Furby might be the perfect holiday gift! But you’d better get your hands on one quick, because they’re already sold out all over town. Available in 10 vibrant colors at amazon.com but remember to keep your eye on price and try not to spend much more than 54 bucks, if you end up waiting too long, don’t say I didn’t tell you so…

Giant Monopoly Game

One thing that is timeless about the game of Monopoly is this – greed is still an inherent trait in all of us, where we want more and more in our lives, so much so that owning a monopoly of things is always a good thing as long as we are the owners. Having said that, you might want to relive those classic Monopoly moments of your youth with your own kids this time around, but instead of playing on a usual sized board, how about treating them to something special? I am referring to the $149.95 Giant Monopoly Game that will include playing pieces that are 150% their normal size, accompanied by an oversized board to boot.

The board itself is built with solid wood stained and varnished for a subdued gloss finish befitting wealthy industrialists, measuring 30″ x 30″ in size while including a 20″ x 20″ recessed well lined with smooth green felt so that you can place the 3″ x 5″ Chance and Community Chest cards within. The well is also perfect for rolling the game’s 1″ cu. dice. The entire raised playing surface tips the scales at 12 lbs., so flipping over this board when you lose is not a good idea as someone is gonna get a hurt real bad if the board flies off in the wrong direction.

Somersaulting Truck Race Track

So those normal race track games are pretty much boring in this day and age of the iPad. What must toy manufacturers come up with in order to wow the audience all over again? I suppose the answer is pretty simple, especially when you take into consideration the explosive kind of action that we see on the big screen these days. With the $99.95 Somersaulting Truck Race Track, you can be sure that your little one will not be all that bored on a rainy day.

The Somersaulting Truck Race Track will feature a raceway that comes with a trio of vehicles which are more than capable of performing somersaults when they bounce off the circuit’s built-in trampoline. This is claimed to be a Hammacher Schlemmer exclusive, and your budding engineer will be able to snap the track’s pieces seamlessly together, forming a winding off-road course that is textured with potholes, fallen limbs, and rocks for the set’s autonomously operating 3.5″-long van, wrecker, and SUV. They will roll with the action thanks to knobby 1″ diameter rubber wheels.

Powered by half a dozen AAA batteries, the course is a real challenging one, what with an ascending corkscrew which will deposit vehicles down a ramp onto the trampoline’s 6″ x 8″ rebounding surface.

Ride On Double Digger

Have you ever wondered just how it would feel like digging up roads during peak hours, causing inconvenience to the masses simply because you are following orders from the top management who do not seem to know what’s going on on the ground? Well, I suppose you can give your little one a taste in the life of one who rides and operates a tractor for a living with the $199.95 Ride On Double Digger.

To put it in a nutshell, this is the ride-on loader and backhoe which enables your little one to not only sit on it, but to dig and dump sand into the included trailer. Both the articulated loader as well as backhoe can be controlled through levers and handles which are easy for tiny hands to operate, and good thing there are no engines to keep this running as it is pedal-powered, meaning you need not burn more money on gas. Heck, there is even a steering wheel that works great to inform the family dog or cat to get out of the way. The chain drive system is fully enclosed so that pant legs will not get caught while pedaling, but of course one should always use this under adult supervision.

Motorized Ferris Wheel Construction Set

I am quite sure that many of us who are in our early 30s and older would have had fond memories of heading off to the fun fair when we were little kids, and the ferris wheel was always one of the attractions which should not be missed. Of course, those with less intestinal fortitude would be happy with bumper cars, disturbing clowns who get around on stilts, as well as sitting in one of those spinning teacups. Well, here is a way for you to commemorate your childhood memories with the $129.95 Motorized Ferris Wheel Construction Set.

This particular construction kit will form a motorized, rotating Ferris wheel, and in total there are 890 parts so you know for sure this is not the toy to get for your hyperactive 5 year old. The 890 parts will comprise of plastic girders, connectors, and gears which require no glue as they snap together in order to form the 23″-tall Ferris wheel’s platform, frame, and eight swiveling passenger cars.

The motor is battery-powered, where a quartet of spur gears will help rotate the wheel clockwise or counter clockwise at eight revolutions per minute, helping recreate the intricate mechanical design and leisurely pace which rolls back the years. It requires a couple of AA batteries to run, and comes with a color, step-by-step instruction manual to help the uninitiated.
