New Jersey Bans Tesla’s Direct Sales ModelThe New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has just passed a rule earlier today that will signal the end of Tesla’s direct sales of cars to consumers, being the third state in the country to do so after Arizona and Texas. This might end up as a rather huge blow to Tesla, who happens to be a manufacturer of all-electric cars, as they do not depend on dealerships in order to sell its rides, taking on a very different business model compared to the route that other car companies take. This particular rule would kick in from April onwards.

At the end of last month, we reported that it was well on its way to Stockton, and fast forward to today, the Google Barge has finally arrived in Stockton. This just goes to show yet again that patience is a virtue, and good things come to those who wait. The Google Barge has made its way to its new home in Stockton after managing to come to an agreement with the city’s port to lease a spot. The entire journey took 80 miles to complete, with it having left Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay.

    Safety Concerns Raised Over CarPlay FeatureApple’s recently announced CarPlay is basically the company’s rebranding of iOS in the Car which was unveiled last year. For those who missed our recent coverage, it basically sees a form of iOS integrated into a vehicle’s infotainment unit where they will be able to pull up features such as Maps, Phone, Music, and more.

    There will also be a button on the steering wheel of the vehicle that allows users to activate Siri on their phones without having to look at their phone, which is a great safety feature.     Google’s Projected Mode System Could Feature In Mercedes Benz CarsIt was just a few days ago when we brought you word on Mercedes-Benz having the intention to include Android support when Google’s car infotainment system is ready to rock and roll. This rumored in-car system is speculated to be known as “Projected Mode,” where it will hopefully offer better Android integration. Well, a leaked job posting from Daimler does drop additional hints to support what we reported earlier. According to the job posting on Daimler’s website, it pointed to the requirements of a software engineer that are needed to implement “Google Projected Mode” in Mercedes Benz rides down the road.
