Facebook Home ‘Airplane’ ad brings one traveler’s News Feed aboard — literally

Facebook Home 'Airplane' ad brings your friend feed aboard before takeoff, anyway

Sure, Facebook had a weird ad with Blink-182 for the HTC Status, but its sneak peek at its newest TV spot for the First and Home is on another level. Posted today on its Facebook profile, the campy piece literally brings one traveler’s feed to life inside the cabin of his flight during boarding. We won’t spoil the goods for you, but it’s interesting to see Facebook’s first thrust at marketing this skin and smartphone combo out to the masses. Catch the full clip after the break.

The Last of Us 30-Second TV Ad Highlights Game’s Story, Action

We think by now we’ve come to terms with Naughty Dog delaying The Last of Us, especially when they continually release new content on a regular basis. The delay only pushes the game back a little over a month, which is way better than having to wait several months. The latest video for The Last of Us is its 30-second TV spot, which was first aired during last night’s season finale of The Walking Dead, which means Sony most likely dropped a ton of cash to air it.

The TV Spot shows a nice mix between highlighting the story in The Last of Us, while also showing some action against those nasty spore-infected people. It felt like the perfect TV ad to air during The Walking Dead, considering those who don’t know the game’s story will most likely believe it’s zombies you’ll be fighting in The Last of Us. Oh, those silly, zombie-loving The Walking Dead fans. They’ll believe anything is a zombie if it shuffles around, lunging at people at every chance they have while often screaming “Brains!”

BioShock Infinite 60-Second TV Commercial Is Full Of CGI Awesome

The closer we get to March 26, the harder it is for us to not have BioShock Infinite on the brain. We’ve seen some great content coming from Irrational Games over the past few months which highlight Columbia’s Impending Doom, Elizabeth possibly being a person who should be feared as well as Booker’s motives not starting out to be as honest as we were lead to believe. Last night, the first official 60-second TV commercial spot for BioShock Infinite debuted, and it’s as awesome as you probably expect it to be.

BioShock Infinite’s 60-second TV commercial is a great mix of action and music with a little bit of the supernatural mixed in there for good measure. Unfortunately, as the commercial suggests at its opening, it’s all CGI, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome, especially considering the in-game footage has always looked fantastic to us.

If you have yet to pre-order your copy of BioShock Infinite, even after hearing about its nifty pre-order bonuses and its premium and Ultimate Songbird editions were announced, we think now would be a good time for you to get your order in as the game looks to be one that shouldn’t be missed.

Did Amazon just tease football fans with new Kindle devices?

Watching tonight’s Cowboys / Giants game? We hope you stuck around for the commercials, because Amazon may have given NFL fans a glimpse of what’s to come during tomorrow’s event. According to folks watching the game, the firm ran a brief commercial featuring what appears to be a pair of Kindle devices, which comfortably fit previous reports that two new versions will be landing soon. One of the devices packs a touchscreen in a black finish, and looks distinct from hardware in the company’s current lineup. At any rate, you can catch the minute-long TV spot after the break or wait until the firm’s press conference tomorrow for concrete details.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Sony kicks off an Xperia Ion TV ad campaign for the US, meets your daily explosion quota

Sony isn’t known for rolling out the red carpet when one of its phones arrives Stateside, although that’s partly because US carrier-endorsed versions are few and far between. It clearly sees the Xperia Ion as worth the five-star treatment it’s giving the rest of the 2012 Xperia line: the company is starting a rare TV ad campaign to pitch its 720p wunderkind to an American audience that might not have noticed the Ericsson badge going away. As you’d expect, the pseudo single-take spot ends up being as much a vehicle for pushing other Sony projects as it does for the Android phone in question; we hope you don’t mind getting a brand overdose. With that in mind, there’s more action and explosions per square capita than in any other smartphone ad in recent memory, so if you’re upset that other smartphone ads are just too… peaceful, click Play and get your fill of danger.
