Second Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Trailer Revealed

In case you missed it, the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag debut trailer has been released, and if you like what you see so far, you might be interested to learn that another trailer has been released. This trailer is less story-based and basically introduces you to the character you will be playing, Edward Kenway who is essentially a pirate who has been trained by assassins. It looks promising and based on what we’ve seen so far from the trailer debut and leaked screenshots, it is possible that Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag could be a huge success. Then again it is possible that the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise helped to rekindle and bring pirates back into the spotlight, so maybe the success of the game could be attributed to that. In any case if you’ve got a minute to spare, check out the trailer in the video above.

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag Screenshots Make Their Way OnlineIn case you missed it, the trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag has been released ahead of its intended debut. It looks pretty good and I have to admit I am loving the pirate theme. Very Pirates of the Caribbean-ish if you ask me. Anyway if you’re interested in seeing how the game might look like in terms of gameplay, you’re in luck as screenshots from the game have since been released. Just like the trailer, the screenshots from the game look pretty impressive, and it seems to incorporate a lot of outdoor elements in them. As you can see, your character will be able to explore the town, the jungle and even hop onto a ship (is that a whale we see there?!). Pretty cool stuff. The game is expected to be released on the 31st of October (according to the trailer) and will be available on current gen consoles and the PC, but it will support next-gen consoles as well, such as the PlayStation 4 and presumably Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Debut Trailer Revealed

So the other day thanks to an oversight on the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag trailer website, it was revealed that the game would be released on the 29th of October and could be arriving on next-gen consoles as well, like the Sony PlayStation 4. Well the good news is that the oversight turned out to be true and the not only has the trailer for the game been released, but it has also been confirmed that it will be seeing a release on the31st of October as well. In any case if you’re wondering what the next Assassin’s Creed game will be about, there will be a pirate theme surrounding the game which we guess fans of pirates and the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise will be pretty chuffed about. Either way if you’ve got a couple of minutes to spare, check out the debut trailer in the video above. So, who’s excited for the game?

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag reportedly launching October 29

Just yesterday Ubisoft officially announced the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, but details were quite scarce; we merely got a look at the box art and that was it. However, a screen capture of a landing page on Ubisoft’s website (which has since been taken down), says that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be launching on October 29 on “next-gen consoles.”

assassins_creed_iv_black_flag_page

The game has already been confirmed for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U, so we should now see it arrive for the PlayStation 4 and the rumored Xbox 720. Of course, this isn’t too surprising, as the release date for the game will hit around the same time that the next-gen consoles should launch. However, the screen capture suggest that the game will be releasing on October 29 for next-gen consoles, suggesting that the PS4 and Xbox 720 will be out by then.

The landing page where the release date was leaked is now replaced by a countdown for the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagworld premiere trailer,” which is set to launch in four days and 12 hours from the time of this writing. At that point, we should know more details about the upcoming installment.

The leaked screenshot also means that pre-orders will be available for the game, and those who pre-order the title will receive a collectible Todd McFarlane poster, a cartoonist who used to draw Spider-Man comics for Marvel. Since the release date was pulled and replaced with the trailer, it seems like Ubisoft will announce the release date for the game early next week when the trailer launches. Stay tuned!

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag confirmed

This technically isn’t the first time that the fourth installment in the Assassin’s Creed series has been announced — Ubisoft confirmed earlier this month that the game would be coming to gamers at some point. However, Ubisoft today announced the title of the new game, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, as well as revealed the box art that will be plastered on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U versions of the game.

There’s no clear details past the the name of the game and the box art, but we can clearly tell that the game will be pirate-themed. However, we already know that the game will feature a new protagonist and will be set in a new time period from past installments. According to the embargo lift date, more information about the game will be revealed on Monday.

However, on the Assassin’s Creed III Facebook page, where the box art was posted, we’re at least given the name of the new protagonist, along with “possible scenarios” and locations. Our new hero for the game is Edward Kenway of Britain, and as for locations of the game, “Jamaica, Bahamas, Cuba, Mexico, and maybe any England city with seaport” are possible.

However, take all that with a grain of salt since that Facebook page isn’t the official fan page from Ubisoft. As for a release date of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, that’s still not known either, but Ubisoft has said that we should expect sometime during Ubisoft’s fiscal year 2014, which could be anytime between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Introduces Swashbuckling Pirate Adventures

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag Introduces Swashbuckling Pirate Adventures

The Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag posters that were leaked yesterday turned out to be promotional materials for the next Assassin’s Creed game now that Ubisoft has confirmed the game by releasing its official box art.

The box art image released by Ubisoft shows the new Assassin that we could expect to be featured in the game on the front and is equipped with a ton of weaponry. We can see he has three guns attached to him, a cutlass and, of course, the iconic Assassin’s Creed hidden dagger located on his right forearm. In the background, we can see the Assassin is aboard a pirate ship, which would lead us to believe he is, indeed, a pirate assassin. Take that, ninjas! (more…)

Sony teases PlayStation 4 developer list, includes many of the majors

Want to know just who’s developing for the PlayStation 4? Sony just gave is a very good peek: it’s promising worldwide support for the console, and quickly flashed just which companies that entails. The cursory look shows us many familiar heavyweights, such as 2K, Activision, Capcom, EA, Konami and Ubisoft. We’ve also spotted Rockstar, Square Enix and other names that most would have hoped for with the new PlayStation. Suffice it to say that Sony hasn’t had any problems attracting the support it needs for a decent early lineup, although we don’t know how many of these developers will have something ready for launch day.

Update: A few exist that aren’t (directly) mentioned in the graphic above: Blizzard is porting Diablo III to the PS4, and Bungie will put its future MMO-like shooter, Destiny, on the game machine.

Rayman Legends Online Challenge Mode Hitting Wii U This April For Free

When you consider how much of a double-edged sword Ubisoft’s recent Rayman Legends announcement was, ultimately fans of the side-scrolling action title are left to suffer as there won’t be any version of the game released until September.

The delay not only affected fans, which we’re sure many of you took to your social network of choice to vent your frustrations, but it also affected the developers behind Rayman Legends. Because of the outpouring of support from its fans, Ubisoft has decided to provide some more Rayman goodness this coming April in the form of an online challenge mode. (more…)

EA and Ubisoft team up to share games on UPlay and Origin

It looks like Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are taking the whole “embrace the competition” phrase to a new level. the two companies have announced that they will be offering each others’ games on UPlay and Origin, meaning that you’ll be able grab EA games on UPlay and Ubisoft games on Origin, something that we don’t see happen very often.

Screen Shot 2013-02-19 at 4.12.51 PM

UPlay will now offer a handful of games from Electronic Arts, Warner Bros., Bohemia Interactive, Telltale Games, Robot Entertainment, and more. This includes titles like Batman: Arkham City, Crysis 3, Orcs Must Die 2, The Walking Dead, and To the Moon. To celebrate the expanded library, Ubisoft is offering gamers a free game download if they purchase a game for $19.90 or more.

In return, EA is listing a handful of Ubisoft games on Origin, including Assassin’s Creed III and Far Cry 3. EA has been offering third-party games on Origin for a couple of years now, but that doesn’t lessen the excitement of even more games becoming available on the service, and this will no doubt instill a bit more confidence in gamers that game publishers don’t have to be complete DRM fanatics.

In total, Ubisoft’s UPlay will gain 25 games from 12 different publishers, and it’ll allow the smaller indie games to get more exposure through Ubisoft’s store, while also helping out Ubisoft itself grow its library of games. Of course, no other digital distribution service is quite up to par with Steam, so both EA and Ubisoft have a lot of catching up to do.
