Samsung jumps aboard the curved Ultra HD TV bandwagon

samsung-curved-hdtvSamsung might be from the same country as that of LG, hailing from South Korea, but this does not mean that they are bosom buddies when it comes to sharing customers in the consumer electronics arena. Samsung has laid claim that they have on offer a world’s first, which is also the largest and most curved 105-inch Curved UHD TV ever, and this bad boy will be unveiled over at CES next year. Next year is not too far away actually, especially when you consider that CES 2014 is happening in January next year.

Your eyes will definitely be blown away by what the Samsung 105-inch Curved UHD TV is able to deliver, as it will make use of a new proprietary picture quality algorithm which is capable of offering optimized color and greater feeling of depth. In a nutshell, you will be treated to nearly two times vivid images when viewed from the side, and it comes with 11 million pixels (that’s 5120 X 2160 for you) screen resolution alongside a 21:9 aspect ratio.

Samsung’s 105” Curved UHD TV is touted to be the world’s most curved, it comes with nearly two times vivid images when viewed from the side, offering you the best possible TV viewing experience from any angle. Apart from that, the 105 inch monster will also make use of its ‘Quadmatic Picture Engine’ that will be able to offer up UHD-level picture quality regardless of what kind of source it hails from.

Pricing details and other hardware specifications remain to be seen, but if the past few editions of CES is anything to go by, this could very well lead to the first generation of many curved Ultra HD TVs down the road. Unless Japanese companies like Mitsubishi and Panasonic have nothing like this up their sleeves in January, we do expect to see them jump aboard the bandwagon in CES 2015.

LG intends to wow the CES 2014 crowd with first 105” Curved Ultra HD TV in the world

lg-105ub9The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas has always been the place for companies to roll out and showcase their latest technologies, hoping to wow the masses along the way. Having said that, we have seen some pretty impressive releases in the past, and the TV segment always does seem to have something new for everyone. For next year’s edition of CES, the folks over at LG has lined up another world’s first, which is their LG 105UB9, where in plain English, it would be better known as the first 105” Curved Ultra HD TV in the world.

Sure, there has been larger sized TVs revealed in the past such as those from Mitsubishi and Panasonic that ran on different technologies such as plasma, but those did not have any curves that the LG 105UB9 comes with. At such a large size, you will be able to enjoy magnificent picture quality as well as a wide viewing angle, where the Ultra HD TV itself will be able to render even the most minute detail in breathtaking clarity so that you, the viewer, will be able to enjoy an unprecedented level of viewer immersion.

Apart from that, the LG 105UB9’s cinematically proportioned 21:9 CinemaScope screen makes it perfect for enjoying movies the way they were meant to be shown on the silver screen. Not only that, it will also let you check out viewing information on the side of the screen without having to suffer the ignominy of that blocking any of the ongoing action. The LG 105UB9 will boast of 11 million pixel (5120 x 2160) screen resolution, which are far more pixels than you can shake a stick at compared to a regular Full HD TV. As for pricing details, that remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – it is not going to come cheap considering the kind of technology that it comes with.

LG Says Bigger Is Better, 105-Inch LG Curved Ultra HD TV To Hit CES 2014

LG Says Bigger Is Better, 105 Inch LG Curved Ultra HD TV To Hit CES 2014Is bigger necessarily better? The folks over at LG certainly think so when it comes to their TVs, having announced that they will unveil the 105” LG Curved Ultra HD TV at CES 2014 which is happening in slightly more than a fortnight’s time. This is a world’s first, considering how it comes with a 21:9 aspect ratio, and with the groundbreaking 105” size when measured diagonally, you know for sure that the 105UB9 is all set to be the officially largest curved TV ever made to date. LG did venture into such territory before, hitting the 77” curved OLED TV in September earlier this year, and to see the leap made to 105” is certainly nothing short of breathtaking.

LG claims that the 105UB9’s cinematically proportioned 21:9 CinemaScope screen makes it perfect for you to skip the cinemas and just stay at home to watch your favorite movies after they have been released on Blu-ray, right in the comfort of your own bean bag. Apart from that, such a wide screen allows users to access viewing information on the side of the screen without having any of the menus block the on-screen action. The LG 105UB9 will come with a whopping 11 million pixel (5120 x 2160) screen resolution, and do expect this bad boy to cost a pretty penny when it arrives. Of course, we have seen larger displays before like 150″ monsters from Panasonic and Mitsubishi, but those run on now-ancient technology and certainly do not boast of such high resolution.

LG sports a new 77-Inch Ultra HD curved OLED TV to wow the masses

lg-ultra-hd-oled-curveJust how much larger do you think that TVs in the living room will get eventually that having a projector around is redundant just for screen size alone? We are not quite sure where the glass ceiling is set in terms of measurements, but one thing is for sure – LG has just edged closer to a new record. In fact, their latest offering comes in the form of a 77” Ultra HD curved OLED TV that might just set the tone for the next-generation TV market. You might get a sense of deja vu out of reading this, but that is because the South Korean consumer electronics giant rolled out a 55” curved OLED TV earlier this year at CES, leaving this 77” monster to debut at IFA 2013 instead.

Havis Kwon, president and CEO of LG Home Entertainment Company, shared,“LG was proud to be the first company to commercially launch an OLED TV and we are once again setting our sights high with the ULTRA HD CURVED OLED TV. This 77-inch TV is proof that we will never stop pushing the boundaries and exploring new possibilities.”

Needless to say, this bad boy from LG would clearly make it the largest OLED TV in the world at the moment, not to mention being the new flagship from LG at the moment, boasting some of the most advanced next-generation TV features in a single chassis. It measures a whopping 77” diagonally, where the large screen’s IMAX-like curvature would ensure that you, the viewer, has a field of vision which is filled more completely compared to a conventional flat-screen TV.

Not only that, it will also merge with LG’s exceptional WRGB OLED and ULTRA HD technology, which would let it deliver infinite contrast ratio and resolution that amounts up to four times greater compared to regular Full HD. No idea on pricing, but chances are pretty high you have got to pay for this through your nose – and more!

Samsung Ultra HD TV range sees new F9000 series added

Are you currently on the lookout for a spanking new TV to fill up that empty space in your living room? If you have answered in the affirmative, then I am quite sure that you would have considered getting an Ultra High Definition TV before the missus shot down your suggestion. Well, one can always hope, no? Perhaps if you dimmed the lights, put on some candles around the dining table with her favorite tune playing in the background, and let her have a look at what Samsung has in store (with her favorite dessert just “coincidentally” sitting by the notebook), and perhaps she might change her mind. I am referring to the new 55” and 65” UHD (Ultra High Definition) models from Samsung that offer brilliant picture quality and superior upconverting technology, where these will be made available from July 21 onwards.

Samsung’s best-in-class Ultra High-Definition (UHD) TV family has just gotten a couple of new members in the form of the F9000 line. They will arrive in 55” and 65” models as mentioned, where you ought to be able to experience home entertainment at a whole new level with the right kind of media, although you would most probably find that it is not too possible for the ordinary consumer to replicate the audio experience of a movie theater.

The F9000 series will deliver four times the resolution of Full HD TV, assuring that your eyes enjoy a vivid, crystal-clear picture. The F9000 UHD TV makes use of Samsung’s proprietary Quadmatic Picture Engine, where it is a four-step process that includes signal analysis, noise minimization, UHD up-scaling and detail enhancement in order to seamlessly upconvert SD, HD or Full HD content to UHD-level picture quality. Now do not expect magic to happen here, as I am sure that most of us have experienced the DVD upconversion to Full HD resolution which has had varied results in the past. The 55” model will retail for $5,499.99 with the 65” model tipped to go for $7,499.99 a pop.
