Shoptagr: Tag Now and Shop Later for Less

Shoptagr: Tag Now and Shop Later for LessShoptagr allows fashion aficionadas and aficionados to never miss a sale, ever. This new web application allows users to tag their favorite clothes on ecommerce sites and select a preferred price, when the item is available at a matching discount, then they receive an alert via email and/or sms.

According to co-founders Jonathan  Friedman and Ronen Yuval-Hoch “Retailers use special pricing software that results in prices changing more often than consumers can keep track of, leading to many  missed  shopping opportunities.  Online sales shopping can be really frustrating. Shoptagr should be the answer to those problems.”

Fashion ecommerce is booming and according to this report from Hamburg-based secondary market research company yStats.com, clothing is the number one product purchased in B2C e-commerce. That is probably why Shoptagr launched today with fashion and clothing partner sites such as Asos, Bloomingdales, Shopbop, Zalando, Nordstrom, Net-A- Porter and many others.

Photowall App Turns Chromecast Into An Interactive Photo Frame

Photowall App Turns Chromecast Into An Interactive Photo Frame

Google was surprised by just how popular the Chromecast became shortly after its launch. Initially only released in the U.S., the $35 dongle saw “millions” of units being sold. Last week the company finally released it in an additional 11 countries. As it reaches more people across the globe, Google has been focusing on getting more apps for the dongle. It opened up the Chromecast SDK for everyone. The company itself has developed a new app for Chromecast, its called Photowall.

Photowall leverages Chromecast to turn the TV its connected to in an interactive photo frame. Even though the app is only available for iOS, and once Photowall is up and running through it, anyone with a compatible device can join in the fun by visiting a link on Chrome. Before photos are beamed up to the TV, users can doodle on them and can even add annotations.

All users connected to the Photowall will be able to beam images to the TV through Chromecast. Once everyone has finished adding their special touches, the app is capable of creating a YouTube video of the photo collage, which can then be shared with anyone on the internet.

Photowall for Chromecast is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store.

    Skype For Xbox One Updated

Skype For Xbox One UpdatedSkype has announced an update for Skype for Xbox One which adds better synchronized chats, push notifications, and bug fixes – among other things, here’s the exact list from Skype’s blog post:

    • Improved Chat
    • Marvel’s Captain America
    • Contact Filtering
    • First Time Tutorial
    • Swatting Bugs

To me, the most important ones are the improved chat and the contact filtering. I have been less than pleased with the “Metro” version of Skype, and other full screen versions of the apps. The space was typically not very well managed, the conversation sync was slow and if you have a lot of contacts, browsing them was not very nice. (more…)

K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1 Touted To Be World’s Cheapest Octa-Core Full HD Smartphone

K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1 Touted To Be World’s Cheapest Octa Core Full HD SmartphoneChina has churned out its fair share of smartphones recently that offer plenty of bang for your hard earned buck – if you’re living in China, that is. They seem to have managed to whittle down the cramming of as many features as possible into an affordable package into a work of art, and you can also take a look at the likes of the Gionee Elife S5.5 being the world’s thinnest or slimmest smartphone, measuring a mere 5.5mm in its thickness. Well, it seems that the K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1 (what a mouthful) also deserves a closer look. It might not be the thinnest handset on the planet, but it is going to be the cheapest octa-core Full HD smartphone in the world.

New San Francisco Apple Store Receives Final Approval

New San Francisco Apple Store Receives Final ApprovalLook out, San Franciscans! It seems like you will most likely play host yet again to another new flagship Apple Store, as the San Francisco Board of Supervisors have already given the green light for Apple to begin construction on this new flagship store that will be located in the city’s Union Square district. Union Square is famous for being a high-traffic tourist area in downtown San Francisco, where it will be designed by Foster + Partners, which is the very same UK-based architecture firm that came up with Apple’s new spaceship-like headquarters design in Cupertino that is touted to open its doors in a couple of years’ time. Hence, the new location would more or less make this a flagship store for Apple, considering how close it is (relatively speaking, of course) to Apple’s corporate home in Silicon Valley.

WhatsApp Voice Calls Coming Later This Year

WhatsApp Voice Calls Coming Later This Year

WhatsApp has been in the news quite a lot recently, obviously this can be chalked up to the fact that Facebook has agreed to pay $19 billion to acquire the world’s most popular cross platform messaging service. This rags to riches story will inspire many for years to come, but just because its being acquired doesn’t mean that WhatsApp will cease to exist. Facebook will continue to run it as it is, while the time preps up to add even more value to its service. Co-founder Jan Koum has revealed at a session during Mobile World Congress 2014 that WhatsApp voice calls are coming in the second quarter of 2014.
