    LG Posts MWC Teaser Trailer

With LG announce the G Pro 2 and some low-mid ranged handsets, we have to wonder what else the South Korean tech company might have in store for us at MWC 2014. Perhaps the handsets will be put on display and demonstrated for the world to see, or perhaps LG might have other products that they are still keeping under wraps, but either way LG has since released a teaser trailer for their presence at MWC 2014 which will be taking place in Barcelona next week. The video shows off a couple of LG’s devices, including the LG G Flex, and also based on the tagline which reads, “Knock and Discover Tomorrow”, we can only assume that LG might share additional Knock Code details.

For those unfamiliar, Knock Code is LG’s new security system for its smartphones. It is also the successor to Knock On feature which allows users to double tap the screen to wake the phone up, rather than pressing a physical button. What differentiates Knock Code from Knock On is that it allows users to wake up the phone by tapping a series of patterns. According to LG, there are over 86,000 possible combinations, meaning that figuring out your knock pattern might not be as easy as one might think. In fact LG believes that Knock Code is safer compared to Touch ID, but we guess we will have to wait and see to find out.

An iPhone Back In 1991 Would Have Cost At Least $3.56 Million

An iPhone Back In 1991 Would Have Cost At Least $3.56 MillionTechnology has definitely come a long way since two decades ago. For those who grew up in the 1990s you guys probably remember that computers cost a bomb back then, and that owning a computer was truly a luxury (it still is in certain parts of the world). Laptops would be crazy expensive and people would pay hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for additional storage which can now be had for $10-$20. That being said, have you ever wondered how much an iPhone would have cost you back in 1991? Well according to Bret Swanson at Tech Policy Daily, he has estimated that an iPhone back in 1991 would have cost at least an eye-watering $3.56 million! Yikes!

According to Swanson’s breakdown, the A7 chip would have cost $620,000, the flash memory of 32GB $1.44 million, and the 15Mbps data connection at $1.5 million. “Considering only memory, processing, and broadband communications power, duplicating the iPhone back in 1991 would have (very roughly) cost: $1.44 million + $620,000 + $1.5 million = $3.56 million.” Of course this doesn’t take into consideration things like the Touch ID sensor found in the iPhone 5s, the display, the touchscreen technology, the camera, and etc., but with 3 components coming in at $3.56 million already, we’d hate to think how much the final product would cost.

Isis NFC iPhone Payments A Possibility With Incipio Cashwrap

Isis NFC iPhone Payments A Possibility With Incipio CashwrapIsis is a relatively new mobile payments solution that’s backed by three major U.S. carriers, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile to be precise. It was confirmed last year that the service will be rolled out within the year, and sure enough on November 14th, Isis mobile payments went live across the U.S. Isis requires NFC or near field communication to function, which we all know isn’t present in iPhones. This means that millions of iPhone owners in the U.S. can’t use this service, though that might change with Incipio’s Cashwrap case.

Before the iPhone 5s was announced, it was rumored that the new smartphone might finally come with NFC, which would allow it to be compatible with Isis. iPhone 5s was announced back in September and it was confirmed that it won’t feature NFC. The Cashwrap case will supposedly allow payments to be made through the mobile payments service by incorporating a micro-NFC chip within the case itself, which when coupled with an app would allow payments to go through.

Incipio Cashwrap is rumored to be compatible with Apple’s most recent iPhones, which would include the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. It is believed that this case has already present in AT&T’s inventory, the carrier is expected to start selling it soon for $70. Though so far no official announcement has been made by AT&T, Isis or Incipio for that matter.

Galaxy S5 Release Event Rumored To Take Place In London, Mid-March

Galaxy S5 Release Event Rumored To Take Place In London, Mid March

We know that Samsung is going to release a new flagship smartphone in a couple of months, which is expected to be called the Galaxy S5. Already there have been a lot of rumors about this device, a Samsung executive recently said that the Galaxy S5 will be released in April. Rumor has it that the release event will take place in London, around mid-March. An exact date has not been rumored as yet, but England’s capital is claimed to be the place where the Korean juggernaut unveils its latest flagship to the world.

This latest rumor comes after reports that a launch is expected at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. MWC kicks off late next month, but it didn’t seem likely that the announcement will be made there. Samsung hasn’t launched a flagship device at MWC since Galaxy S2. The rumor about Galaxy S5 event in London comes from Italian journalist Flavio, who claims to have heard from a reliable source with knowledge of the global launch event. Samsung hasn’t dropped any hints as yet, about its upcoming smartphone or the location where it will be unveiled. It is still a bit too soon to be sure right now, rumors such as this fly around quite a bit prior to a new product’s unveiling. We’ll only really know for sure once invites from Samsung start coming in.

WWE Network To Stream On Connected Devices

WWE Network To Stream On Connected Devices[CES 2014] While we all know that WWE offers entertainment wrestling with some interesting scripts, there is still the excitement of seeing beefed up men as well as ladies having a go at one another, with subplots running in the background at times, too. At the Wynn Hotel and Casino earlier this evening, wrestlers including Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and WWE chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon has introduced a bombshell where the streaming landscape is concerned – the WWE Network will is set to be realized this coming February 24th at 11:05, with an asking price of $9.99 per month, which ain’t too much actually. For what could get you an average meal in a city, this subscription will include all of the network’s pay-per-views, WrestleMania included.

The kicker is, it will not be made available in cable subscriptions; but rather, it will simply stream on every device you own. However, one ought to take note that it will most probably not feature Raw and Smackdown as part of the deal, although old episodes will make the cut on the new network, in addition to pre- and post-show content. Making use of the digital network, would see WWE take full advantage of different revenue streams , and the apps will also allow viewers to purchase tickets to the org’s live events, gaining access to the e-store as well.
