Coming in both 240GB and 480GB sizes, these fanless SSDs are equipped with an anodized aluminum enclosure, a USB 3.0 connection interface, Synchronous NAND Flash memory chips and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 436MB/s and 429MB/s, respectively. Transcend hits back with a new line of USB 3.0 portable SSDs, the ESD200. Coming in both 128GB and 256GB sizes, these SSDs are equipped with a USB 3.0 connection interface, a one-touch backup button, a built-in ECC function and promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 260MB/s and 225MB/s, respectively. I-O Data is preparing to release a new line of USB 3.0 portable SSDs namely the HDPX-UTSS. Coming in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacities, these ultra-thin SSDs (9mm thick) feature an aluminum enclosure, a USB 3.0 connection interface and are backed by a one-year warranty. The 60GB, 120GB and 240GB models will start shipping from early December for 10,920 Yen (about $137), 16,485 Yen (about $207) and 31,080 Yen (about $390), respectively. [I-O Data]
