The Pulse Jump Rope takes away your energy and gives it to your phone

Pulse Jump Rope
We are in an age of multi-tasking. We talk with friends through video chats while eating lunch on our break, play games on the bus ride home, and listen to music during all of it. We don’t like sitting still, and even through we’re moving as fast as we can, it still doesn’t feel like we’re being efficient enough with our time.

If you want to feel as though you’re killing two birds with one stone, then the Pulse Jump Rope is just the way to do it. This harnesses kinetic energy when you’re playing with it, and turns it into an electrical juice box for your gizmos. If you were wanting to start exercising a bit more, this would be a great way to motivate you out of your chair.

We all dash like mad to an outlet, but if you only had to jump rope for a few minutes to get hours of power, then it would certainly be worth it. Well, if you think $129 is worth something you may or may not enforce into your daily regimen. This would be nice to have around as an emergency backup battery, as it would only take a little effort on your end to get things charged up. If you’re in an emergency situation, it’s likely you’re in a power outage and will be looking for something to do anyhow.

The Kairo Double-Sided Rechargeable Hand Warmer will fight off frostbite

Enelop
There are those of us who feel as though we’re always in need of a jacket. It’s not a medical condition, we just feel cold more often than not. That being said, having this sort of situation makes winter even more difficult of a time to get through. Of course, you can break out the boots, scarves, leg warmers, extra-fuzzy socks, and double sweaters, but there’s always room for more ways to warm yourself.

The Sanyo Eneloop Kairo Rechargeable double-sided hand warmer will keep your fingers from feeling like popsicles. It comes with an AC plug, 2-AA Eneloop batteries, a miniUSB cable, a USB adapter, and a carrying case. The exterior is a brushed aluminum with a plastic top.

This will last for about 4 hours on one charge, but can probably be stretched out a bit more if you only use it on the lowest setting.  You can either keep this in your hands, or in a interior coat pocket to keep you toasty. It has the ability to raise its internal temperature to 113 fahrenheit, but don’t be too shocked if it falls a bit short. This particular hand warmer will cost you around $91, which will likely only be a worthy purchase if you’re specific about the aesthetics of your gizmo. Otherwise, you may want to spring for something in the $20-30 range (either that, or buy a better pair of gloves).

Toshiba announces USB adapter for TransferJet technology

transferjet-adapterThe folks over at Toshiba must be on to a good thing here – they have just announced an adapter which will be able to play nice with the TransferJet close proximity wireless transfer technology, and not only that, this particular adapter will also feature an USB 2.0 interface that makes it compatible with a whole lot more devices. This particular adapter is already on sale in Japan at various electronics retail stores, and will arrive in a couple of models – one with a Micro-B-type connector that is more often than not found in modern day smartphones, while the other happens to be a Type A connector that is commonly used when it comes to the world of personal computers. Either way, folks using both devices are more than used to seeing either one of them in action.

Toshiba has big plans for this particular adapter, where they hope to use it when it comes to exchanging image and video files between a smartphone and a personal computer, not to mention the ability to do so between a couple of smartphones to boot. Toshiba is also mulling over the very real possibility of using it when it comes to kiosk terminals, so that interested parties will be able to purchase video files at such kiosk terminals, as well as transferring such image files to printers sometime down the road.

So far, no manufacturer’s suggested retail price has been put forward, although there has been speculation going around that the expected retail prices of the Micro-B and Type A models happen to be ¥4,000 to ¥5,000 (approximately $38 to $48, respectively, and you will also be able to pick them up as a set from ¥8,000 to ¥9,000. We are all for a greater level of connectivity between devices, and just so you have an idea on how speedy file transfer speeds are with TransferJet, we are looking at a maximum transfer rate is 560Mbps (effective transfer rate: 375Mbps) over a range of 3cm, now how about that?

The XE4400 USB Battery and Wall Charger can kill two birds with one stone

portable_usb_battery_wall_charger_inuse
There are days where it would be nice to be without all the clutter of technology and its constant news feed. It can feel overwhelming, as though you’re constantly behind on the times. Thankfully, those days are few and far between. Mainly because having the ability to talk to all of your friends and family at a moment’s notice and see how their lives are going because of social media is awesome. Of course, checking all of this information constantly (paired with the occasional round of Angry Birds) can drain the battery life on your phone within the span of a few hours.

If you don’t want to find a plug to station yourself at, then you might want to look for something that can help your phone last through the day. The XE4400 Portable USB Battery Pack and Wall Charger would surely do the trick. It doesn’t pack too much of a punch with its internal 4400mAh battery (the equivalent of 5 hours on an iPad), but it still gets the job done.

Something that makes this battery pack a bit special is that it can plug into the wall when you do have access to an outlet, which will let you charge two USB devices at once. This will only cost you around $25, and will certainly help you last through the day. Heaven forbid we get stuck with a brick instead of a smartphone when trying to coordinate plans or find directions.

The Optimus Popularis is a keyboard for every occasion

optimus_popularis_keyboard
There are a few standard pieces of hardware we use for our computers. They come in various shapes and sizes with different features, but we all have a mouse, monitor, and keyboard. While some have more buttons than others, you don’t normally find any that are so over the top that they have a price tag in the thousands.

The Optimus Popularis is looking to change the status quo, by draining your bank account. This keyboard has 77 programmable keys that are all a half-inch square displays. Why on Earth would this come into existence you ask? Well, obviously there’s a market for it. You can switch between layouts with ease, which means changing from task to task will be a breeze. The resolution is 72x72p, and the minimum frame rate is 10 fps. It’s made of aluminum and plastic, and weighs close to 7 pounds. It will work on Windows XP or Mac 10.8 or higher through USB. The Modernist Pencil Sharpener might make you excited to draw again

iDraw Modernist Pencil Sharpener

Have you ever had a blank piece of paper in front of you with a perfectly sharpened pencil in your hand? Knowing you have an open canvas on which you can create literally whatever you’d like is a very freeing feeling. Of course, as your put graphite to paper, you’ll eventually need to resharpen it. Chances are pretty high that you have a cheap plastic sharpener laying around that does the job just fine, but you’re always left with a mess of shavings everywhere.

If you’re wanting to look overtly professional as you whip out your expensive drawing utensils, then you’ll likely want to have high-quality accessories as well. The iDraw Modernist Pencil Sharpener is a rechargeable pencil sharpener that is made out of premium materials. It’s compact, portable, and charges via USB, so it’s not too hard to find a cable that will do the trick.

The body of this fancy tool is a sandblasted aluminum with an anodized finish to make sure it’s a bit more durable. There is a sliding door which will release all of the shavings trapped inside. While this means you won’t be putting them directly on the floor, it does mean you’ll want to find a trashcan to toss these in every once in a while. Not to mention you’ll want to make sure you don’t jam it up with wood bits. This will cost you anywhere from $40-65, and comes in either a rechargeable electric or a manual hand-cranked version (for those of you that don’t want to worry about having one more thing to charge).

HoneyDru USB Car Power Adapter oozes with cuteness

honeydruHaving anything that is “cute” does seem to work these days, and considering how many of us carry a fair number of gadgets, it can be quite a task trying to make sure that all of them are fully juiced at the beginning of each day. Having said that, having a car charger in your ride is not too bad an idea after all, since you can never quite tell just when you might need to fall upon some backup power on the way to your meeting, with your smartphone running on empty. Why not get something cute while you are at it? The $19.99 HoneyDru USB Car Power Adapter will certainly not disappoint, where this small, bee-shaped car power adapter will come with light-up eyes and wings for added “coolness” effect, especially during the evenings.

Good thing nobody should be allergic to this bee-like USB car power adapter, as it does not sting at all, and the only thing it does well would be to power up those thirsty batteries in your well used gadgets. The HoneyDru USB Car Power Adapter would be plugged into most vehicles’ power outlet/cigarette lighter, and it is capable of 5V/2A output, which should be more than some of the native chargers which accompany your devices. Apart from that, it will also feature a coiled cord which can be stretched to 3 feet and retracts to 8 inches for adaptability and flexibility.

Kingston HyperX PREDATOR 1TB USB 3.0 Flash Drive

hyperx-predator-1tbI am quite sure that many of us have attended our fair share of trade shows and conferences over the years that we have amassed quite a collection of USB flash drives in our homes, so much so that these have become not valuable at all compared to the early days when a 32MB USB flash drive was all the rage, and hitting 1GB was like, “Whoa!”. Well, we just love the way that technology progresses over time, and here we are with the Kingston HyperX PREDATOR which offers a whopping 1TB of storage space, and fret not about spending huge amounts of time whenever you transfer data to and from it, as it will feature USB 3.0 connectivity to get the job done as fast as possible.

Having the Kingston HyperX PREDATOR around is definitely a boon, especially for those of you who do plenty of traveling and yet need to carry a portable hard drive around. The physical dimension of it is extremely small compared to even the smallest 2.5” portable hard drive around, although the latter has now achieved the 2TB capacity mark. It really depends on what you want to sacrifice – size or price?

Basically, the HyperX PREDATOR 1TB USB 3.0 flash drive performed as well as its smaller capacity brethren in most of the tests, but there is one major drawback to it. The thickness happens to make it nigh impossible to use normally just like a standard issue USB flash drive, even more so when you want to hook it up to a USB port that is located at the back of your notebook, and this is where the bundled USB 3.0 extension cable comes in handy. Another major talking point (negative one, unfortunately) would be the humongous price tag, as the 1TB model retails for $1,306.63 on Amazon.com. Imagine the number of portable hard drives you can purchase with that kind of money!
