EA Sports FIFA Soccer 13 launches in North America

Soccer may not be as popular in the United States as it is in other countries, but there are hordes of dedicated soccer fans in the US that have been waiting in anticipation for EA Sports FIFA Soccer 13 to launch. This week marks the official launch for the game in North America. EA says that indications are that the launch of FIFA 13 will be the biggest sports video game launch ever.

EA says that over 1 million games have been pre-ordered worldwide and over 4.6 million fans worldwide have played the demo for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. That number represents 42% increase year-over-year worldwide. In the United States alone, 294,000 fans have played the demo. EA is also giving players the opportunity to become a world champion by competing in the FIFA Interactive World Cup.

The Interactive World Cup is one of the in-game modes. In the competition last year, more than 1.3 million registered players from all over the world competed in the Interactive World Cup. The game is launching in North America with lots of advertising via broadcast and digital medias with a cast of sports and celebrity icons.

The game is available on the PS3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita portable, Nintendo Wii, PC, PS2, Nintendo 3DS, and the PSP. The game will also be available for the Nintendo Wii U game console in November. EA also has versions of the game available for mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad. The game is available to purchase right now.

LittleBigPlanet hits PlayStation Vita

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that the award-winning game LittleBigPlanet has officially launched for the PlayStation Vita portable. Tarsier Studios and Double Eleven Studios developed the video game in conjunction with Media Molecule. The game brings all the play, create, and share capabilities of the franchise to the portable entertainment system with a new adventure for the hero, Sackboy.

The game is built specifically for the PS Vita and allows the player to enjoy an entirely new story to explore and play. The portable game has all the tools to create any type of level or game that the player can imagine and can share player creations via the PlayStation Network. The game has 45 new story levels in games to play across six different themes.

The game features new characters, and all the action is set on the fairground planet of Carnivalia as players battle a Puppeteer, who is stealing all the joy from Craftworld. Players fight through a series of themed levels in a storyline to foil the Puppeteer. The game takes advantage of all the multitouch features of the Vita.

The game also supports location-based functionality to find other players in your vicinity and challenge them to beat your score on a particular level. The game also supports multiple player modes, including local same screen versus competition and online multiple player game play for up to four players. The game includes all existing DLC packs along with new tools specific for the PlayStation Vita. The game is rated E for everyone and is available now.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Playable Demo Hits Steam

If you’re a fan of strategy games from developer Firaxis, you might want to grab the latest playable demo from the company. Firaxis and 2K Games have announced that a playable demo for the title XCOM: Enemy Unknown is now available for download on Steam. For now, the demo is available for PC gamers only, but a demo for console gamers will be coming soon.

The demo offers the first two levels of the single player tutorial campaign. The levels allow the user to experience combat controls and effective tactics for fighting the alien threat. Gamers will also be introduced to the XCOM Base in the demo. Soldier training and the researching of alien technology takes place in the base.

The game is up for pre-order right now and include the Elite Soldier Pack. This pack includes the blonde, flattop wearing character from the classic X-Com game. The soldier pack also includes the ability to customize armor in the game.

2K games has been showing off videos and talking a lot about its coming video game called XCOM: Enemy Unknown for a while now. The video game is a strategy game from Firaxis published by 2K, and a playable demo is now available to download at no cost. The playable demo offers players two levels of the single player tutorial campaign.

The two available levels of the playable demo allow the player to experience combat controls and effective tactics for defending humanity against the alien threat trying to wipe us out. 2K says that the two tutorial missions available in the demo will also introduce players to the XCOM base. This base is where soldier training, and the research of alien technology takes place.

In the base, players get the chance to experience the tactical and strategic layers of the video game. The playable demo available right now is for PC gamers only and can be downloaded via Steam. 2K says that a playable demo for console gamers will be coming soon.

The full video game is available for pre-order right now at participating digital retailers for $49.99. Pre-ordering the game guarantees players a bonus called the Elite Soldier Pack. That special package allows the players to receive a new recruit in their barracks inspired by the original game with the blonde, flattop hairstyle. The soldier pack also allows players to customize the soldier with different static upgrades for armor and to customize colors in the game.

Medal of Honor Warfighter Multiplayer Beta Launches in Early October

The next video game in the Medal of Honor franchise is called Medal of Honor Warfighter. The game is set to launch in late October. Fans who can’t wait that long to get their hands on the new video game will be able to access the multiplayer beta starting in early October.

EA promises that Warfighter will be the most realistic and authentic military shooter of the year. The game is inspired by real people, real places, and real operations. The multiple player beta will allow users to choose from 12 different Tier 1 units operating around the globe.

The available units include the British SAS, German KSK, Russian Spetsnaz Alfa Group, Korean UDT and U.S. Navy SEAL. The video game is powered by powerful Frostbite 2 game engine and is set for launch in North America on October 23. Players who download the beta will be awarded 60 minutes of Double XP the full game launches.

If you’re a fan of PC shooters or the Medal of Honor franchise, you probably already heard of the coming entry for the franchise called Warfighter. EA has announced that it will offer player’s entry to the open multiple player beta world of Warfighter in early October. The multiple player shooter allows players to choose from some of the most elite soldiers in the world.

Available fighting units hail from 10 different nations and gamers can choose from 12 different Tier 1 units, including the British SAS, German KSK, Russians Spetznaz Alpha Group, Korean UDT, and the U.S. Navy Seal. The game is powered by the Frostbite 2 game engine. EA says that Medal of Honor Warfighter is the only shooter that lets players choose from the best fighting units available in the world, then battle it out in a multiple player environment.

Gamers who participate in the beta will also be able to unlock a music video from Linkin Park called Castle of Glass. EA promises to release the video five days after the beta launches. However, gamers will be of the unlock video earlier if the beta download reaches 3 million units.

The music video will feature a mix of live-action footage edited with game play recordings taken from Warfighter. Gamers who participate in the beta will also get 60 minutes of Double XP when the full game launches. EA says that Warfighter was written by actual US Tier 1 Operators while they were deployed overseas, and the game will be the most authentic military shooter of the year.

Blizzard Entertainment to launch Mists of Pandaria in China on October 2

Fans of World of Warcraft have been excited for months now over the latest expansion pack set to launch this month in the United States called World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. We know the launch date for the expansion pack in the US is September 25. Blizzard has now strapped the expansion with a launch date for China.

Chinese World of Warcraft fans will be able to get their hands on the expansion pack when it launches in mainland China on October 2. Blizzard points out that this is the first time Chinese players have been able to join the rest of the global World of Warcraft community within the same one-week global launch period. There’ll also be a special edition of the game for Chinese gamers.

Chinese gamers will be able to purchase the premier Chinese Ultimate Edition of Mists. The Chinese Ultimate Edition of the game will sell for 486 CNY. The special version includes several bonus items, including an in-game mount in the form of an Imperial Quilen flying mount.

Players will also get a special in-game pet called the Lucky Quilen Cub. Also included is art from the expansion pack with the 208 page hardcover book. Gamers will also get a special edition mouse pad featuring game character Chen Stormstout. The special edition also includes a soundtrack CD and behind the scenes DVD among other items.

Harmonix talks Dance Central 3 bonuses for the UK

We talked about the video game Dance Central 3 in the past, and we know that the video game will launch on October 16 in the US and on October 19 in Europe. Today retailer exclusives and pre-order incentives for gamers in the UK interested in Dance Central 3 have been announced by Harmonix and Microsoft for the Xbox 360.

People who pre-order the game from GAME will get a bonus track from Lady Gaga called Paparazzi. Buyers who purchase from Amazon will get Usher’s Euphoria. Buying at Tesco will get a Lady Gaga track called Alejandro. Buyers who purchase at HMV, Play.com, or Blockbuster will get the Usher track Twisted.

There are a limited number of these pre-order versions of the game available with the additional track. While the special pre-order tracks were announced, 10 more tracks from the game’s normal soundtrack that players will be dancing to were also unveiled. The tracks are some of the most popular on the radio right now so fans should be excited.

The tracks include: Black Eyed Peas – “Boom Boom Pow”, Flo Rida ft. Sia – “Wild Ones”, Heavy D & The Boyz – “Now That We Found Love”, Jennifer Lopez ft. Slabs running Redmond’s latest OS won’t see a project from the team for a while, however, as the studio is still looking for new hires and won’t open its doors until November.

Darksiders II on Wii U Gets Hours of Additional Game Play

We are already knew Darksiders II would be a launch title for the Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U console. THQ has offered up some details on the video game that we didn’t previously know, that people planning to purchase the Wii U should really like. Namely, the game will have tons of additional bonus content not available on other platforms.

THQ says that the Wii U version of the video game will include the first DLC expansion for the title called Argul’s Tomb. The Wii U version will also get all pre-order bonuses from other editions of the game. Overall, Wii U gamers will have an additional five hours playable content along with the legendary weapons and armor.

THQ has also confirmed that the game’s controls will take advantage of the unique touchscreen GamePad the Wii U offers. The screen will display map and objectives as well as giving quick access to abilities and inventory. The game will also use the console’s Gyro functionality for evading attacks and manipulating objects.
