Reactive Grip Motion Controller Delivers Highly-Accurate Feedback

As gaming console become more advanced, we’re seeing the big three companies provide some sort of motion-based controller system with their consoles, which Nintendo started with its Wii. Both the Wii controller and PS Move provide some sort of feedback when held, but what if they could advance to a point where you’re given an amount of feedback that felt incredibly real?

Palmer Luckey created the Reactive Grip and showed it off at the Game Developers Conference 2013. The controller uses a combination of motion tracking, a modified Razer Hydra and a 3D-printed housing that contains sliders that can move up or down to provide real-time sensation to what’s happening on the screen. Ray Charles Robot Caught Performing In Japan

Ray Charles has been long gone since June 2004, but his memory still lives on in his fans, especially in Osaka, Japan where a life-size animatronic of the legendary musician can be seen performing some of his most notable tracks.

The animatronic Ray Charles can be found belting out tunes in front of Osaka Castle where its creator has made him look and act nearly identical to the real-life version. Well – maybe not look exactly like Ray Charles, but considering this was made by a regular person, we can certainly overlook how terrible its hair looks and that his skin is entirely made of paper clay..

As the music plays, the robo-Ray moves his mouth along with the words to the song and plays the keyboard as well. The music doesn’t come from the keyboard, as many would probably guess, but instead it comes from a small speaker located in his chest. We guess you could say this animatronic Ray Charles carries his music in his heart.

Dark Souls 2 Highlighted In 12-Minute Gameplay Demo

Late last year, millions of gamers cringed at the announcement of Dark Souls 2 during VGA 2012. Not because it’s a bad game, but instead, because they knew they’d once again be buying a video game that does nothing but torture them throughout the entire experience with how difficult it is.

Since its announcement, Namco Bandai hasn’t shared much information regarding Dark Souls 2, but today, IGN released a special 12-minute demo where the game’s director Yui Tanimura and global producer Tak Miyazoe, who acts as Tanimura-san’s translator. The gameplay reveal features direct in-game footage of Dark Souls 2, which Tanimura-san says improving its graphics were one of the major focuses of this game. The gameplay demo will show off the game’s combat system, 3D level design and a new ability that allows your adventurer to carry a torch with them while they make their way through the game in order to help get the jump on enemies before they surprise you in the dark. The Legend Of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Mod Places Nicholas Cage’s Face On Everything

For several years now, it seems Nicholas Cage has been in every movie possible, or at least has attempted to be somewhat included in nearly every film. Because of that, the internet has decided putting his face on pretty much anything and everything should be a thing, the results of which will probably terrify you and make you wish you could have the power to unsee things. This might be one of those times.

YouTube user Criken created a video called “The Legend of Cage: Beneath the Mask” and what it highlights is a texture mod that replaces characters and pretty much anything else’s face in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask with Nicholas Cage’s face. As we warned you earlier, this video is 13 minutes of just complete and utter weirdness. (more…)

Street Fighter 2 – Guile Theme Acapella Version Seriously Impresses

Over the past few years, Guile’s theme, which is a background song for Street Fighter II’s Guile’s stage, has been taking the Internet by storm. It has slowly been injected into a large number of videos to instantly make them a viral sensation due to everyone’s agreement in the track instantly making anything better.

Smooth McGroove recently published his acapella version of the Guile theme, specifically from the Street Fighter II Super Nintendo version, and we think it’s by far one of the best versions of the song that we have heard. McGrove not only accurately belts out each portion of the song with amazing accuracy, but he is even able to match the slight changes in the higher portions of the song which sound like the tune is sliding back and forth. The Email Guitar Lets You Shred Your Way To Responding To Correspondences

If you were impressed with David Neevel’s previous contraption which was able to separate the cream from an OREO cookie, then you’re going to dig his latest project called the Email Guitar.

Instead of sitting behind a computer screen all day and using an archaic input method like the keyboard to type in all of your correspondences, you’ll be able to shred your way into a perfectly constructed email as the Email Guitar translates the notes played on a guitar to its corresponding letter on a keyboard. The results of Neevel’s experiment certainly looks cool, but we can’t imagine responding to an urgent email as you fumble your way through a sentence.

The Email Guitar was brought together with a combination of a Flying V guitar, an Arduino, a custom relay board and a Roland GR-33 guitar synthesizer. If you happen to have all of those at your computer desk right now and feel like creating an Email Guitar of your own, Neevel posted plans and code to help. Just remember to send him a “Thank You” email when you’re fighting off waves of women who are totally into your emailing methods.

Black Ops 2 Uprising Map Pack Marks The Return Of The Replacers

When Call of Duty: Black Ops 2′s Revolution Map Pack was close to being released, Activision knew you’d be spending a lot of time with the game, which is why they suggested you used their Replacer services. With the upcoming release of Black Ops 2′s Uprising Map Pack, The Replacers are back to help you with those important moments in life you need to attend, but would much rather be playing Black Ops 2. This time, the original Replacer Peter Stormare brought along a buddy to help with his replacing this time, actor J.B. Smoove.

As with the previously released Replacer video, you’ll be given a short snippet of the new Uprising map pack, but the main focus of the video will be some of the more humorous job roles the Replacers will have to take up just so you can get some more quality time with Black Ops 2′s newest DLC. You’ll see the Replacers making “Sammiches,” defending the public and fixing the cable to name a few of their roles in the video.

God of War: Ascension 1.0.4 Update Raises Level Cap, Spartan-Kicks Bugs

New Remember Me Trailer Highlights Enemies You’ll Fight In Neo-Paris

Capcom’s Remember Me is scheduled to be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on June 7, which means the famous game publisher has a little over two months in order to start putting its marketing power behind its newest IP. Capcom has released a brand-new trailer for Remember Me which shows Nilin doing one of the things she does best in the game: fighting.

The trailer, which is called “It’s Time to Fight,” highlights some of the enemies Nilin will be fighting across Neo-Paris, whose inhabitants are “blissfully ignorant” to the control Memorize has over them as the corporation stores their memories for their own, yet-to-be known reasons. A group known as Errorists will be joining in Nilin’s battle to take down Memorize, which we’re hoping means they can do all of the heavy corporation-toppling work and let Nilin have a nice French dinner somewhere.
