WWE App Now Available On Xbox 360 Just In Time For Wrestlemania XXIX

Wrestelmania XXIX is taking place this Sunday just a few miles from where I live, but seeing as I don’t have a ticket to the big show, I’ll most likely be watching the big event from the comfort of my home on my Xbox 360 now that an official WWE application has launched on the platform.

Microsoft announced WWE’s dedicated application on the Xbox 360 has officially launched making it possible to order pay-per-view events right within your console’s dashboard. There couldn’t have been a better time to launch the app as we’re sure many of you were already planning on purchasing this weekend’s pay-per-view event, so why not take your business to your Xbox 360? Tok.tv Baseball App Features Voice Chat Along With Sports Stats

April 1, 2013 not only marks everyone’s least favorite holiday, April Fools’ Day, but it also marks the official start to baseball as MLB’s opening day is set to start later today. Getting your friends and family around your TV to watch the opening day festivities will be tricky on a Monday night, but a new app will allow you to watch baseball and still communicate with your friends or family while also giving you important stats regarding the game you’re watching.

Tok.tv is announcing they’re making it possible to not only deliver sports statistics to you through their TV app, but the service will also make it possible for you to voice chat with up to four remote people in order to make the experience as close to having people over as possible, without the need to clean up your apartment or ordering pizza for your guests. “We found voice is the medium to generate emotion, people don’t want to type home run, they want to yell home run,” said Tok.tv’s founder and chief executive Fabrizio Capobianco. YouTube Co-Founder Announces MixBit Collaborative Video Platform

YouTube Co Founder Announces MixBit Collaborative Video Platform

One of YouTube’s co-founders teased he was close to launching a new video service, but was about a month away from its actual launch. What better day to launch an actual product, or in this place a video platform, than on the day where the Internet is running rampant with April Fools’ Day stories? We could think of 364 better days, but regardless of what we think, Chad Hurley decided today was the day to launch his new video platform, MixBit.

The announcement came as sort of an April Fools’ Joke as Hurley announced on his Twitter profile “Since YouTube is ending, we’re launching a new video site.” Of course, YouTube is far from closing its doors, but MixBit is actually a new video platform, although information regarding what it actually does and how it’ll attract the attention of online video watchers is to be seen. Instead of MixBit being a direct competitor to YouTube, the site would provide its users the “flexibility for people to work together and create content.” If that means more cat videos an anime music videos, then we’re all for it.

The Last of Us 30-Second TV Ad Highlights Game’s Story, Action

We think by now we’ve come to terms with Naughty Dog delaying The Last of Us, especially when they continually release new content on a regular basis. The delay only pushes the game back a little over a month, which is way better than having to wait several months. The latest video for The Last of Us is its 30-second TV spot, which was first aired during last night’s season finale of The Walking Dead, which means Sony most likely dropped a ton of cash to air it.

The TV Spot shows a nice mix between highlighting the story in The Last of Us, while also showing some action against those nasty spore-infected people. It felt like the perfect TV ad to air during The Walking Dead, considering those who don’t know the game’s story will most likely believe it’s zombies you’ll be fighting in The Last of Us. Oh, those silly, zombie-loving The Walking Dead fans. They’ll believe anything is a zombie if it shuffles around, lunging at people at every chance they have while often screaming “Brains!”

Apple Product Launch Frenzy Parodied In Somersby Cider Commercial

Apple’s recent commercials have been, in our opinion, a bit lackluster as they no longer talk about their products. Instead, they focus on the experiences its users can expect from their iOS products. Apple really should use the excitement and long-lines that are synonymous with the launch of a new Apple product, especially their mobile devices.

Somersby Cider decided to launch a new commercial that parodies the experience Apple fans go through when a new product launches. Except, of course, the product that’s featured in the following commercial is a cider. The commercial uses a lot of tech terminology that you would find Apple employees describing their products, such as a “16-pit” apple, or buying a cider that’s “completely wireless.”

The Somersby Cider commercial really does a great job at parodying the frenzy that goes on when a new Apple product is launched. It captures the excitement both Apple’s customers as well as their employees experience that day, but again, this is over cider, which makes its excitement completely ironic.

Activision Shows Next-Gen Tech At GDC With Impressive Visuals

The next-generation of video game consoles will usher in some amazing visuals, which we already caught a glimpse of during Sony’s PlayStation 4 unveiling. Activision’s R&D department took center stage yesterday during the company’s GDC panel called “next-generation character rendering,” which after you see their tech demo, will have you wondering if it’s creepy or super awesome.

The real-time character demo is a 2-minute long video that highlights a number of amazing improvements in regards to a character’s facial gestures. The demo, which is all running in real-time, captures the actor’s face, eye movements, skin imperfections and nearly every emotion the actor could think of. (more…)

Amazon Expands X-Ray Feature To TV Shows On Kindle Fire, Wii U

Amazon Expands X Ray Feature To TV Shows On Kindle Fire, Wii U

For the sake of this story, let’s pretend The Hunger Games is a TV show. M’Kay?

Amazon may not be building a $99 Kindle Fire, but it is rolling out its X-Ray for Movies feature it introduced six months ago on its Kindle Fire HD to now be able to offer the same service to its library of television shows.

The X-Ray for TV will allow Kindle Fire users to be able to access IMDb while they’re watching a TV show, giving them immediate access to everything the database has to offer to give them the information they might be looking for on that particular show or episode. The update will be available for “the most popular TV shows on Amazon,” which in layman’s terms means not every TV show will use Amazon’s X-Ray for TV. (more…)

Man Solves Three Rubik’s Cubes While Juggling

Solving a Rubik’s cube on a normal day is pretty difficult for the average person. No matter how hard the majority of us try to get all of the colors in their proper places, we end up removing the colored stickers and placing them all in their proper places. Being able to solve a Rubik’s cube is so easy for some people, they’ll go ahead and add something else in addition in order to slightly challenge themselves. This guy, though, is a complete nut as he attempts to solve three Rubik’s cubes while juggling.

No – he’s not juggling something and solving Rubik’s cubes between throws. He is juggling the Rubik’s cubes he is attempting to solve. So not only does he have to worry about the entire juggling process, which already can be mind-glowingly difficult, but he also proceeds to solve three separate Rubik’s cubes. The level of difficulty behind this trick is amazing, which is why he is surrounded by a small group of people who are probably as amazed as I was watching this video.

BlackBerry 10 Partners with PBS, Viacom & Univision

The BlackBerry Z10 was officially released last week as it was made available on AT&T and today, it has been made available for T-Mobile customers. Not only has the Z10 officially launched in the U.S., but the new BlackBerry 10 OS has also been released to the masses. The content selection for the BlackBerry 10 platform are slim pickings at this point, but BlackBerry is announcing some additional worthwhile content for its new OS.

BlackBerry is partnering with PBS, Univision and Viacom to bring a number of their popular programming, including Downton Abebey and shows from channels such as Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon to BlackBerry’s video catalog. Today’s partnership seems to be exclusive to BlackBerry 10 U.S. users as there’s currently no word on when or if it would be released across additional markets. (more…)

Assassin’s Creed 4 First Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Underwater Exploration

Up until today, we’ve seen Assassin’s Creed 4 in various screenshots as well as some teaser videos showing its in-game engine, but we have yet to see any official gameplay footage. Ubisoft has finally delivered the games first official gameplay trailer, and as you would expect, it looks pretty awesome.

The gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4 follows Captain Edward Kenway, who is the assassin / pirate you’ll be playing as in this title. In addition to the already expected maneuvering through the world at a freerunner’s pace as well as taking down enemies with a stab here and a pistol shot there, Assassin’s Creed 4 will include underwater explorations which include some impressive visuals. The sea’s wildlife, such as sharks, will keep you on your toes and may have you rethinking about going in the water again. (more…)
