NVIDIA Highlights Project SHIELD’s Non-Steam PC Game Experience

Last week, NVIDIA highlighted its Project SHIELD in the first video of its PC Mondays series by showing us how exactly the device will sync up with your PCs. The process was easier than we originally anticipated as it took very little effort to get the PC version of Borderlands 2 up and running through Steam.

One concern people had regarding the demo was how exactly non-Steam games would play. This week’s video highlights playing non-Steam games, one of which is EA Games’ Need for Speed: Most Wanted. (more…)

Minecraft: Day Blockers Is The Best Real-World Game Mashup We’ve Seen Yet

We’re sure, just like us, many of you are fans of Mojang’s Minecraft no matter where you play it. We’ve spent hours upon hours building our dream home by day while trying to stay safe from the enemies that tend to make their way across the world at night. But what if those enemies all of a sudden started coming out during the day?

A fan-made video called “Minecraft: Day Blockers” highlights this exact predicament and was published on YouTube yesterday. The fan-made video  combines the real-world with Minecraft’s 8-bit visuals seamlessly. Throughout the entire video, you’ll see the two Minecraft players attack their enemies with a diamond sword, a bow & arrow, and later on in the video, both. (more…)

Microsoft Surface Pro Ad Has Us Wishing For More Breakdancing Meetings

It seems Google wasn’t the only tech giant to debut a new commercial during last night’s Grammys as Microsoft took the opportunity to debut a new commercial for their recently released Surface Pro.

Even though the Surface Pro reportedly doesn’t have the greatest storage or battery, Microsoft’s newest commercial offers a lot of energy as I could only hope any meeting I attend from now on be as lively as the one featured in their new commercial. (more…)

President Obama Holding Fireside Hangout On February 14

President Obama is no stranger to using the Internet to converse with not only the American people, but also millions around the world to discuss a number of important topics. Last year, he hosted a Google+ Hangout session, and it looks as though he’ll be hosting another one this week.

The event will be called a “Fireside Hangout” and will allow the President to chat with several people selected by Google in order to spark conversation with him with their own questions. The Fireside Hangout will take place on February 14 at 4:50 EST, which is two days after his State of the Union speech to the U.S. Google is giving you until 11:59 p.m. ET to submit your questions as a video or text via the White House’s YouTube channel.

Those interested in viewing President Obama’s Fireside Hangout are encouraged to visit the White House’s Google+ page or their YouTube channel, although if you’re not one of the lucky few who have been chosen to chat with the President, then you should plan for the event to be a one-sided chat.

Google’s First Nexus 4 Commercial Highlights Google Now During Grammys

While my wife and I were busy watching Once Upon a Time and The Walking Dead last night, it seems everyone else was watching The Grammys. Because of that, it seems we missed out on a commercial for the Nexus 4 that was everyone crowing about it this morning.

Google’s Nexus 4 commercial focused entirely on Google Now, which was introduced as a direct rival to Apple’s Siri. It also marked the first time an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean-powered device was featured in a commercial, giving those who don’t have the latest Android OS and don’t follow tech blogs a glimpse into what’s possible nowadays. Controversial Super Bowl GoDaddy Commercial Reenacted With Jay Leno

During this year’s Super Bowl, one of the most controversial commercials to air had to have been Go Daddy’s which featured Bar Rafaeli sucking face with a rather unattractive nerd named Walter, played by Jesse Heiman. The commercial became controversial as a good majority of people found the kiss to be rather disturbing, although we didn’t see anything wrong with the kiss.

Conan O’Brien’s Halo 4 Review Results In Cortana Lust, Controller Licking

Late-night TV show host Conan O’Brien started reviewing video games within the last 6 – 9 months on a semi-regular basis, and each review has been pretty funny, considering Conan has always prefaced each review saying he isn’t a gamer, and actually hates video games. A new video review has aired on his show, and he takes on one of the biggest games of 2012, Halo 4.

During his review, Conan is joined by a staff member who clues him in on what exactly is going on in the game, and he certainly knows his Halo lore. Of course, because of this, Conan asks if his employee has a girlfriend, to which he responds he does not.

Much of Conan’s review is spent ogling over Cortana, and in fact has become very attracted to her. At one point of the video review, Conan can be seen licking the controller in complete and utter lust over Cortana.

Towards the end of Conan’s review, he stumbles onto a point in the game where he and co-host Andy Richter are playing soldiers. Conan stands around to listen to the dialog, but ultimately murders his and Andy’s soldier counterparts.

Assassin’s Creed 3 King Washington DLC Release Dates Announced In New Trailer

Assassin’s Creed 3 was released in time for 2012′s holiday season and received the Battle Hardened Pack last month, but this month it’ll be receiving its first full downloadable content.

The upcoming DLC for Assassin’s Creed 3 is called Tyranny of King Washington and it imagines a United States where George Washington made himself a king, instead of creating a new republic nation by becoming its first president. Washington being in possession of a piece of Eden doesn’t help as he’s become crazy with the power.

Tyranny of King Washington also highlights some special abilities for Ratonhnhaké:ton which will allow him to attack enemies with the Power of the Bear, move quickly with the Power of the Eagle and become the ultimate predator with the Power of the Wolf. He’ll also be given new weapons and a wolf companion.

The Tyranny of King Washington will be released as a three-part DLC. The first episode will be available on February 19th, while the 2nd and 3rd episodes will be released on March 19th and April 23rd, respectively. Each episode will cost $9.99, but a season pass will be available for $29.99 and comes with two additional pieces of DLC.
