Fun’s ‘We Are Young’ Covered By Old Computer Parts

As much as I wanted to not enjoy Fun’s “We Are Young“, I have come to admit that it’s quite the popular song and I should just let the kids have their popular music and I’ll tap my finger to it every so often. How popular is We Are Young? Well, popular enough for someone to go through the trouble of having their old tech collecting dust in their garage have a crack at the song.

The video above features some hard disks, an HP Scanjet 3C and a Yamaha CX-5 working together to create quite the rendition of Fun’s We Are Young. With only three pieces of tech, the sounds they all produce are nearly spot on to the original song, with the hard drives being the most impressive to me as hearing a hard drive click usually means a terrible weekend for me and my computer.

Seeing as the video also has a skull in the background when the HP Scanjet 3C is jamming out, we feel it was a wasted opportunity to have a little fun with that and possibly have it perform some of the lead vocals. Old computer tech along with pieces of the human anatomy is the perfect recipe for a hit video.

Netflix Says Social Features Are Coming Next Year

netflix2 Netflix Says Social Features Are Coming Next YearAccording to Talking Points, Internet video streaming provider Netflix will be introducing “social features” to its service beginning next year. The report follows after the Senate’s decision last week to pass the so-called Netflix bill which aims to remove restrictions that prevented companies from sharing the rental history of their customers. This is also important for customers who want, say for example, to share on Facebook what TV shows they are watching. (more…)

NASA’s Johnson Style Is A Gangnam Style Parody

The folks over at NASA know how to work hard and play hard. NASA’s latest project isn’t a probe or a satellite, instead, it is a quirky educational parody of Psy’s Gangnam Style. The main goal of the project is to inform the public about the amazing work going on at NASA and the Johnson Space Center. As seen above, the nearly 4-minute video is entitled “NASA Johnson Style,” and it is basically a volunteer outreach video project created by the students of NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

NASA says that the lyrics and scenes in the video have been re-imagined. Unfortunately, Psy isn’t the star of the video, but NASA did a good job of picking the best guy to do the horse dancing. Instead of featuring the Gangnam District in Korea, the video was shot inside NASA’s mission control center were advanced flight simulators and rockets are hosted. One section of the quirky song goes, Science everywhere. As we engineer the marvels that fly though the air.”

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Arriving On PSN And Xbox LIVE In January

It was recently revealed that the demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been region locked to Japan, which is a rather historical moment for the infamy of it being the first time a PSN demo has ever been region locked. Well, not all things have turned south though, as you need not wait too long for your own version, since all of the other regions will also receive the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo when January 2013 rolls around. Even better news is, it will arrive on PSN and the Xbox LIVE platform as well.

Chances are Konami has taken this opportunity to make an exception to the rule this time around, no thanks to the rather weird circumstances surrounding Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance as the Xbox 360 version has been canceled in Japan. Perhaps Konami is looking forward to a simultaneous launch worldwide save for Japan, which has been delayed indefinitely until the Xbox 360 demo was optimized and ready. Are you looking forward to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?

YouTube Gets New Look & Improved Guide Feature

YouTube is getting better. Google is announcing today that it has updated its popular video streaming service. One of the highlights of the update is the improvement of the Guide feature, which now works across devices – be it on your iOS device, Android phone, or Google TV.

“Just subscribe to your favorite channels and the Guide lets you know when there are new videos waiting for you to enjoy, suggests the latest and greatest channels you might like, and shows you what your friends are sharing across the web. You’ll also find the Guide and your subscriptions on apps across hundreds of millions of devices including Android, iPhone, Playstation 3, Google TV and more,” Google said.

YouTube now also features a new layout which is cleaner and simpler. Google had this to say about the new layout: “In this new layout, you’ll find the most crucial elements are front and center when you watch a video: the video is right at the top of the page and the subscribe button, social actions and video information are all combined directly below the player. Playlists are now available to the right of the video so you can browse through while you watch.”

Teen Arrested After Bragging Crime On YouTube

19-year old Hannah Sabata of Stromsburg, Nebraska was arrested by authorities on Wednesday last week after proudly confessing on YouTube that she stole a car and robbed a bank just recently. York County Sheriff Dale Radcliff says that Sabata is now in custody for charges of robbing the Waco bank and stealing a Pontiac Grand Am in York. In the video, Sabata admits that she stole a car, while proudly showing the car keys. She writes, “The shiny new car is a Pontiac Gram Am. Of course I already took the license off and threw them out.”

Sabata also admits that she robbed a bank with a gun, a pillow case, and a note, while flashing the $6,256 that she allegedly took. She even confesses that she told her mom that she just had the best of day of her life. “She just thinks I met a new boy,” she added. Explaining the reason for her actions, Sabata claims that she is a victim of the government, saying that the whole system is just a game, and that the government stole her baby. In spite of everything, Sabata says that she can still find purpose – in jail that is. At least, she will have enough time to re-think her life and to make amends for good.
