Vivo Xshot To Feature 24MP Rear Camera

Vivo Xshot To Feature 24MP Rear Camera Vivo has an upcoming smartphone for the masses which has yet to be officially announced, although the world already knows it to arrive in the form of the Vivo Xshot. This particular smartphone does seem to shape up to be a photographer’s dream, where teaser images that have been published by Vivo themselves do point to a 24MP rear camera that hails from the folks over at Sony, sporting Exmor RS technology.

This new Android-powered smartphone’s camera will boast of optical image stabilization (OIS), dual LED flash that we talked about before, and a very large f/1.8 aperture. Those figures would amount to nothing if there is no comparison to figure out where the Vivo Xshot would stand in the scheme of things – the Nokia Lumia 1020’s camera itself has an f/2.2 aperture, with the Sony Xperia Z2’s camera carrying an f/2.0 aperture. It does seem that the camera of the Vivo Xshot is also capable of capturing 3D video, not to mention 4K video as well, with a dedicated shutter button making this smartphone seem more like a digital camera with smartphone functions than anything else.

Other hardware specifications of the Vivo Xshot were rumored to include a 7.68MP front-facing camera, a 1080p display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.

Next Vivo Smartphone Could Get “True Tone” Dual LED Flash

Next Vivo Smartphone Could Get “True Tone” Dual LED FlashVivo did tease the masses concerning their upcoming smartphone a week ago, and it seems that more details on said device have surfaced. Apparently, China-based Vivo has shared more information concerning the camera via its official Weibo (Weibo happens to be the Twitter equivalent in China) page, touting that the main camera behind the next generation flagship smartphone will boast of a two-tone, dual-LED flash that has been given the nickname “True Tone”.

This particular setup will be the same as the one found in the Apple iPhone 5s, not to mention the recently released HTC One (M8). Just what does a “True Tone” flash offer? For starters, it will merge LED lights in white and yellow so that your captured photos would end up with a better color balance across the board.

There is no official name attached to the successor of the Vivo Xplay 3S, although we do know that it will be the first device of an X-Series range of handsets, sporting extensive multimedia capabilities that are predicted thanks to the highly possible inclusion of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. How much are you willing to fork out for this next generation flagship device from Vivo when it becomes available?

Vivo Teases Upcoming Handset

Vivo Teases Upcoming HandsetBack in 2013, Vivo unveiled the Xplay 3S which is the first Android smartphone to ever pack a QHD display. Safe to say that this was a technological achievement by Vivo, a company that was relatively unknown until recently.

Now apart from the amazing display, the handset also came with some pretty impressive hardware specs as well but it looks like Vivo is eager to beat itself to the punch. According to a recent teaser released by the company, it seems that they have a new flagship smartphone in the works that will be ever-so slightly better than its predecessor. (more…)

Vivo Xplay 3S Officially Unveiled, Carries 6” Display

Vivo Xplay 3S Officially Unveiled, Carries 6” DisplayIt is less than a week ago when invites for the Xplay 3S event were sent out in China, and here we are with word that the Vivo Xplay 3S smartphone is officially unveiled to the masses. I suppose something that surprised many people would be the larger than expected display that stands at 6” in size, where it will also sport QHD resolution – referred to as 2K resolution at times, where it boasts of a whopping 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Hmmm, I clearly recall reading somewhere that the Oppo Find 7 intends to be the first 2K display smartphone in the world – guess they might have been beaten to the punch by Vivo this time around.

At that resolution, we are looking (literally!) at a pixel density of 490ppi, which is a whole lot higher compared to the 4.7″ 1080p display that is found on the flagship HTC One smartphone, not to mention after taking into consideration the diagonal size difference. Other hardware specifications of the Vivo Xplay 3S include a Snapdragon 800 chipset, a quad-core Krait 400 2.3GHz processor, an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, TD-LTE and FDD-LTE connectivity, a 13-megapixel shooter, a fingerprint scanner, and a 5-megapixel camera in front. No idea on how much it will cost, though.

Vivo Sends Out Invites For Xplay 3S Event In China

We have been hearing rumors about the Vivo Xplay 3S for a while now, and according to the recent rumors, the handset is expected to sport a pretty impressive 2k display, beating out the competition at the moment who only feature Full HD 1080p displays. In any case it looks like the rumors are about to be put to rest as Vivo has recently started to hand out invites to an event which is scheduled to take place on the 18th of December, which is a delay from the original date which was reportedly pegged for the 12th of December, which is today.

In any case those in the media in China have started to receive their invitations, and instead of a regular electronic invitation, Vivo has sent out physical invitations which might seem rather antiquated and boring, but for those who owns a device with NFC capability, well the invite is anything but boring, which you can check out in the video above. According to the rumors, the Vivo Xplay 3S is rumored to feature a display with a resolution of 2,560×1,440. It has also been rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset with 3GB of RAM, and a camera with an aperture of f/1.8, making it an ideal device for low-light photography.

If you have a few minutes to spare, you will want to check out Vivo’s pretty clever invite in the video above, and be sure to check back with us later for the details!

Vivo Xplay 3S Rumored To Feature 2K Display

Vivo Xplay 3S Rumored To Feature 2K DisplayI guess it is a given that most of us now expect high end smartphones, or flagship devices from smartphone manufacturing companies, to roll out a device that has Full HD resolution support right out of the box. Vivo, however, intends to push the proverbial envelope even further by introducing the Vivo Xplay 3S (much rumored until today), which would then – if rumors pan out to be true, be the first smartphone in the world to arrive with a 2K display.

In fact, the Vivo Xplay 3S could be very much closer to a release than most of us think, especially after you take into consideration that it has been listed by the folks over at China Mobile. It has arrived a wee bit earlier than expected, considering how the Xplay 3S’ official announcement was supposed to happen three days down the road. At 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, surely your eyes would no longer strain when it comes to reading on the move? Other hardware specifications of the Vivo Xplay 3S include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, LTE connectivity support, 32GB of internal memory as well as the option to pick up the 64GB model if you so desire. It does seem to be a China-only device at this point in time though.

More Details On Vivo Xplay 3S Revealed

More Details On Vivo Xplay 3S RevealedSo, do you think that the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the bee’s knees? If you have answered in the affirmative, perhaps it would be prudent to take a step back and see that the world is made up of more than just Samsung and Apple. Here we are with additional details on an upcoming device which is known as the Vivo Xplay 3S, where it does seem to be shaping up nicely as an alternative to the Galaxy Note 3. This new array of leaked hardware specifications point to it featuring a 5.5″ qHD display (that would mean a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels), running on a Snapdragon 800 with Adreno 330 chipset, accompanied by 3GB RAM.

As for the camera, it remains to be seen just what kind of resolution it will pack, although you can expect to check out an f/1.8 aperture that comes alongside it. Not only that, you will also find a built-in Hi-Fi audio chip with USB 3.0 connectivity, clearly making the Galaxy Note 3 not that unique anymore in this aspect. Now, all we need to do is to sit tight and wait for an official announcement for the launch of the Vivo Xplay 3S, perhaps from next year onward as it has been speculated to arrive then.

Vivo Xplay3S Touted To Be First 2K (2560x1440px) Smartphone Display In The World

Vivo Xplay3S Touted To Be First 2K (2560x1440px) Smartphone Display In The WorldJust how much higher resolution would you want to see your smartphone’s display get? After all, how many pixels can a 6” display cram in until it reaches a point where your eyes are unable to tell the difference any more? Vivo might just be pushing the envelope of evolution for smartphone displays, where they have recently teased the Xplay3S, which is touted to be the first 2K display for smartphones in the world, sporting a whopping resolution count of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. So much for a Full HD display on smartphones! It has been nearly a good one year since HTC launched the first Android-powered smartphone that comes with a Full HD display, and it just goes to show just how fast the pace of technology has progressed.

I guess with the Xplay3S, we are looking at a next generation smartphone display that all future flagship devices would want to emulate. Vivo could very well use this display in their flagship XPlay3S when it finally hits the market, and you can be sure that the rest of the hardware specifications are not going to be skimmed over either, including a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800AB chipset, and of course, 4G TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE support that will play nice with all of the three mobile carriers in China.

Vivo’s Upcoming Flagship Smartphone Could Carry Nikon SLR Chip

Vivo’s Upcoming Flagship Smartphone Could Carry Nikon SLR ChipIt does seem as though smartphone manufacturers from China are starting to come into their own, as we have witnessed with this morning’s Oppo N1 launch in Beijing, China. Gotta love that camera module on the Oppo N1 for sure, but then again, another Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo, looks set to make a splash in the high end market with one rather interesting hardware specification – a rumored 1/1.7-inch, 20.2MP CMOS sensor that will feature an aperture of f/2.0, alongside a Nikon EXPEED chip.

Any shutterbug worth his or her salt would be able to figure out that this is one impressive sounding hardware specification, at least when it comes to “paper qualifications” for a smartphone with a camera built right inside of it. Other than that, there were no other whispers of what Vivo could throw into their flagship device, although we do look forward to leaks that should arrive in the future. What do you think that Vivo should include into what is most probably their future flagship device? A Nikon SLR chip within would certainly go some way in making the Vivo smartphone worth more than just a second look, but to fall under one’s serious consideration for a fantastic mobile photo taking experience.
