Designer Luis Pons may have just come up with the biggest innovation in home decorating since wall-to-wall carpeting. This large magnetic panel, which could be easily made to cover the walls of an entire room, is adorned with a metal mesh ‘fabric’ that can be rearranged, repositioned, and even completely replaced to match new decor.
Ever had the urge to turn your home into a life-sized curiosity cabinet? Would you love to surround yourself with full-scale lions, oversized insects, and realistic depictions of human skeletons? Do you often construct your own personal Night At The Museum-style fantasies? If you’ve got a taste for the strange but are a bit short on space, this new Panoramiques wallpaper collection might be just the 2D accent to liven up your home decor.
Yesterday, the New York Times ran a tour of the amazing Brooklyn townhome Beastie Boy Mike D lives in with his family. The house is super cool, but most of the stuff inside is either one-of-a-kind or wildly expensive, by non-famous-person standards. Except for the amazing Brooklyn-themed wallpaper that Mike D designed for the MoMA Store. And guess what? You can buy it!
In this day and age where people can get most things done instantly thanks to technological developments, you’d think that they’d have done something to make home decorating (or redecorating) quicker and less of a pain.
Designers Kim Kwang-hyun, Roh Ga-young, Kim Su-hyun, and Shin Jun-won thought about it, and they decided that something like the Freenter is something that people would need to make the process easier.
Their Freenter envisions a handheld “free printer” that lets users print on virtually any surface in an instant. They don’t expound on the technology behind the concept, but the design is fairly simple. The printer looks like a tablet of sorts with a surface where you can draw, doodle, type, or insert images and patterns of your desired wallpaper design.
Enter the command to print and press the printer onto the wall or surface that you want to print on – and presto! Instant wallpaper.
What do you think? Would you be able to print over old designs when you want to redecorate?

Link may have headed out alone for most of his adventures, but he always had his trusty weapons by his side. deviantART member James aka BLUEamnesiac made a huge wallpaper that contains all of the canonical swords, grouped according to the game that they appear in:
The original image has a 3,200 x 2,000 resolution. I chopped some of its parts down so we can appreciate James’ art a bit better. Hardcore fans of the series will see that James slightly tweaked the art of some of the swords, particularly the less ornate ones.
Head to deviantART to see the full size of the wallpaper. And yes, James also compiled all of Link’s shields.

When you were at high school, math was probably an uninspiring string of algebra you had to crunch through. Get to the cutting edge of computational fluid dynamics, though, and it all starts to look a hell of a lot more pretty. More »
If you grew up at the height of the Cold War and remember spending many nights in your family’s fallout shelter, perhaps warm colors and relaxing patterns just don’t feel homey to you. Chrome OS update revamps app list and Google Drive saves, allows relentessly adorable wallpapers
Posted in: Today's ChiliAw, wouldn’t you look at the cute little… wait. Right, there’s a Chrome OS update. At its heart, the upgrade to Google’s cloud-based platform introduces a streamlined app list that both occupies less space and carries an internet-wide search box. It’s also possible to save files directly to Google Drive, and audio can now play through either HDMI or USB. Don’t lie to yourself, however: the real reason you’ll rush to update your Chromebook today is newly added support for custom wallpapers, which guarantees all-day, everyday viewing of your most favorite dog in the whole wide world. Or at least, a nice change of pace from Google’s run-of-the-mill backdrops. Isn’t it so sweet?
