The Bulletproof Suit – Sticks and stones may break my bones, but shooting me won’t hurt me

Bulletproof Suit
There are some jobs that have you constantly looking over your shoulder. Oftentimes, it’s with high-price products such as oil and diamonds. Thanks to Hollywood, we have an inkling of an idea of how dangerous that market is, but there are many times when real life is worse than what’s on a screen. Simple negotiations could end in someone being seriously injured or killed.

Needless to say, you don’t want to walk in or out of business talks in a different country with a security detail, as that shows you don’t trust the other party. However, if you want to make sure you’re safe from bullets, the suit tailor Garrison Bespoke will have you covered, literally. They put themselves in the market of making Bulletproof Suits. These are lightweight, modern, and can take several hits from 9mm bullets or an attack from a hunting knife.

This is possible thanks to a multitude of layers of custom carbon nanotubes that are the same design from US troops uniforms. Of course, this is patented, and is far thinner than what is used on the battlefield, but you will always have a literal shield when you walk into a meeting. This was said to cost somewhere around $20,000, as they are essentially providing life insurance. The only problem is if you face that kind of fear every day, and need a suit for every day of the week. Not only that, but while it may keep your vital organs safe, you have to remember that your head is still exposed. It may save you from one danger, but not all of them.

Sensoria Fitness Bra will monitor your heart rate

Sensoria
You want to get the most out of your workout, so tracking your performance can help. You’ll see where you fall short, and can know when you’re going above and beyond. One key factor in all this is your heart rate. While most hearts are pretty capable of being put through the ringer, this is the one aspect of your body that never stops working, and you want to make sure you’re giving it just the right amount of push.

While heart rate monitors are great, wearing the strap it’s attached to is not so fun. For ladies, workouts in general are not very enjoyable if you don’t have a good sports bra. For all the women out there who want to keep their bodies inside and out in good condition, the Sensoria Fitness Sports Bra might help. This gives you a place to put a heart monitor, and negates the need for a strap.

Of course, bras are pretty expensive on their own, so it shouldn’t be a terrible surprise that this one is $59, as it has a special function. All in all, that’s asking a bit too much, as you’re still going to have to buy the monitor separately. All this provides is a pocket to put it. It is conveniently located at the breastbone, so it shouldn’t get in the way. It also has, ‘embedded ComfTech textile sensors offer an accurate heart rate monitoring signal through virtually any mobile app that is able to provide information such as: Heart Rate, Breathing Rate, and Calorie Burn ‘.

BearTek Gloves let you control your gadgets in frosty conditions

BearTek Gloves
There’s nothing quite like seeing a new sheet of snow covering the ground. It all looks so peaceful, and you can enjoy the scenery, until you get your snow gear on and romp in it. While most everyone can enjoy playing in the snow and calling it a day, others like to make sure they’re still connected to their gadgets.

Putting your phone in your pocket and using a headset might make it more readily accessible, but getting the phone out and answering the call is another matter. Of course, lots of people also like to listen to music all day every day, regardless of the conditions. Even if you have the ability to answer calls easily, skipping through tracks of your favorite tunes might not be as simple.

You definitely don’t want to get snow on or in your fancy phone, or be trying to pull out a headphone cord while running around outside. This is where the BearTek Gloves would come in handy. These were designed to be compatible with your Bluetooth devices, and keep your phalanges from getting frosty. The buttons are on the sides of the fingers, so while you’ll have to go  bit out of you way to hit them, it will be far easier than fiddling with you phone. There are gloves designed for motorcyclists, snow sports enthusiasts, or lovers of gadgetry. They’ll cost you anywhere from $95-145 depending on the type you choose. Of course, if you want to purchase the various modules that allow you to pair your phone with these, it’ll cost you an additional $140 or more.

Mounted Hand Light is right where you need it to be

Hand Mounted Light
It’s night time, and the desire strikes you to work on a project. Maybe it’s your car, maybe it’s a wood carving of a bear. Either way, you’re going to need some light if you want to have any hope of progressing on your task. Even if you have some really awesome overhead light, there’s always never enough shining in the one place you’re trying to work on.

It’s those little details that matter quite a bit, and if you’re tooling around aimlessly, you might break your endeavor beyond repair, or ruin a work of art. The only solution is to have a multitude of lighting options, from big to small. The Swiss Tech Hand Mount Light Tool will make sure you always have enough illumination in problem areas (wherever your hands are working is obviously a problem area). Of course, this can be used for other things as well, but it will depend on the angle between you and whatever is in front of you. This may not be the best solution for a book light.

It is strapped to your wrist, and hooks around your thumb to keep steady while you work. There’s an on/off switch for the light, and it comes with 2 replaceable batteries. Not to bad of a bargain for only $6, though you’ll likely want to make sure you have a project or two lined up before you get it so you’re not just tossing money out.

LUMOback posture sensor will straighten you out

LUMOback
Do you ever look at a picture someone took of you and realize how terrible your posture was? Of course, for the next few days, you try to correct this terrible flaw, and any time someone snaps a photo, you do your best to straighten up. However, a few weeks pass and you’re back to your old habits again. You can always ask family and friends to remind you when you’re slouching, but that places a responsibility on them that they shouldn’t really have.

The best way to go about changing an aspect of your life is to do it yourself because you want to see the difference. Of course, a little assistance is always nice, but you can’t rely on others to help you with your issues. The LUMOback Posture Sensor will help you do just that, by giving you gentle reminders throughout the day.

This is a strap that is worn on your lower back, and will connect wirelessly with your smartphone. The app it corresponds with will tell you all of the specifics of how you’re standing and sitting over the course of the day. Whenever you spine isn’t doing what it should be, it will vibrate to let you know you need to readjust. This $150 device can be worn over or under your clothes, and can also act as a activity and sleep tracker.

Sholdit Scarf is the keeper of secrets

Sholdit
There are days when you find yourself without a suitable pocket in which you can put your keys, cards, cash, and phone. Nowadays, those are the only real ‘essentials’ we need to tote around. However, you don’t always want to carry a bag with you in place of your pockets, as they can quickly become quite cumbersome. For ladies, we have the go-to of jamming things in our bra (it seriously is another pocket), but that can become pretty uncomfortable after a while, and doesn’t always look that inconspicuous.

If you’re wanting to stay fashionable without having to lug around an entire bag or purse, then there may an option for you yet. It has been named the Sholdit Scarf, and it is both clever and cute. This infinity scarf will allow you a bag that won’t be recognizable by anyone but you.

Obviously, this is aimed at women from the photos they have provided for this product, but that shouldn’t deter gents who like to be trendy on occasion. There are black, cranberry, eggplant, and titanium color options to choose from, and they’ll cost you about $50 a piece. This would be great for travel so you have less to carry onto the plane, and no one will be terribly tempted to snatch a scarf. Possibly the most important factor is whether or not it’s soft, as it will be wrapped around you when you wear it. I don’t know enough about materials to make a valid claim for polyester with spandex, but I am a tad skeptical.

The SOOT Electropack is a bag for every occasion

SOOT Electropack

Almost everyone seems to have a penchant for collecting different types of bags. Messenger bags, camera bags, backpacks, purses, and much more take up space in a corner of our closets. We keep them around because we face various situations in which one bag may not be as efficient as the other. There are times of course where we also buy bags we already have to be trendy, or we find them aesthetically pleasing.

For all of you who have a fondness for minimalism and functionality, you’re going to want a all-in-one sort of deal that isn’t too cumbersome. The SOOT Electropack will fill your every need as a bag of holding, and can transform with a simple pull of a zipper. It can be a carry-on bag, a commuter backpack, or a slingback messenger bag. Of course, this doesn’t just hold your stuff, as it also charges any of your electronics through USB.

On the most basic level, this is a 3-in-1 backpack that also has a backup battery. Probably one of the most awesome things about this bag is that it can be two separate sections, or all one giant bag. The main materials are ballistic nylon, and a marine Vinyl, which means it can withstand water, weather, and is fade-resistant. The battery is 10,000 mAh, and it can charge 2 devices at once. This whole setup will cost you $239, but if you really love just the bag system, it’s also available for $179.

855722p

Kids grow up so fast. I’ve been astounded lately at just how quickly my little girl has become too grown up for all kinds of kid-stuff. We can’t watch Dora anymore, or Little Bear, she’s moved on, and even enjoys a little non-fiction entertainment now and again, and of course her beloved Cake Boss. What could get her interested in a good cuddle and a bedtime story?

Check it out! Designed to be the worlds first interactive Pajamas, Smart PJs are average looking, cozy bed clothes comprised of a top and bottom and made from 100% cotton. These unisex jammies look normal enough, but normal they’re not. Smart PJs are covered in green and blue “dot groups”, that can be scanned with a smartphone, and will tell over 45 different bedtime stories.

Simply download one of the free associated apps, scan a chosen dot group with your phone, and sit back and enjoy a story, pictures, and fun facts via your smart device. How fun is that? Smart PJs is an innovative company with the distinction of creating the worlds first, and only, interactive Pajamas. They realized just how much kids like bedtime stories, and how much parents like a comfy, quality pair of pajamas and voila! we now have Smart PJs.

I wonder where else readable code will find itself? I’m actually a bit surprised it hasn’t already found its way onto much more clothing. Anyway, if you can see your kiddo in Smart PJs this fall, you can have a pair for only around 30 bucks, from our friends at Brookstone.com, in sizes fitting most children from 1 to 10, with either pink or blue detailing. Just make sure you scan only one set of dots at a time… I’m not responsible for what kind of a story you might get if you scan too many at once.
