Windows 9 Details Leaked By WZOR

Windows 9 Details Leaked By WZOR

WZOR is a popular Russian pirate group that has leaked confidential Windows related information and downloads many times in the past. The latest leak brings Windows 9 details as well as information about the next major Windows 8.1 update. The group also claims that Microsoft is working on a cloud based operating system. Microsoft obviously hasn’t talked about any of this as yet, so despite the credible track record, it would be best to take all of this with a grain of salt.

According to the group the second major update for Windows 8.1 might be released this autumn. Apparently Microsoft hasn’t decided on the name as yet, it may be called Windows 8.1 Update 2 or simply Windows 8.2. Previous rumors suggested that the much awaited Start menu might come with Windows 9, but WZOR claims it is going to be included in the next Windows 8.1 update.

As far as Windows 9 is concerned, the group says that Start button will not be going anywhere and would be available on devices with or without touchscreens. It would essentially be a component of the next generation Metro interface expected to debut with Windows 9. The group hears that Windows 9 might be available as a free update but it hasn’t been able to confirm this as yet.

Microsoft is also apparently working on Windows Cloud, a cloud based operating system. It is said that a group within the company is working on a prototype operating system. The client software for Windows Cloud would be available for download free though additional functionality would require a subscription. For full functionality an internet connection would be required, offline the features of this OS would be similar to Windows Starter, Microsoft’s budget OS offering.

HP Windows 7 PCs Are Back By ‘Popular Demand’

HP Windows 7 PCs Are Back By Popular Demand

Windows 8 wasn’t adopted as enthusiastically as Windows 7. The public has different opinions about the former, some dislike the touch UI and say that it shouldn’t have been introduced for desktop PCs, where some like the new UI changes that Microsoft has made. Microsoft might have relied upon OEM partners to push its latest Windows iteration through their products, which would definitely help in increasing adoption as well as shaping public opinion about Windows 8. However, HP has sided with the majority that favors Windows 7. The manufacturer says on the front page of its website that by “popular demand,” it has decided to bring back Windows 7 PCs.

HP hasn’t just brought back computers powered by Windows 7, it is actually offering an incentive to customers who opt for these PCs. Up to $150 in savings are being offered to customers who purchased a computer with the last-generation OS instead. This move by HP isn’t that surprising to be honest, with rumors circulating that internally Microsoft employees refer to Windows 8 as “the new Vista,” this was bound to happen at some point in time. We all know how badly Vista performed in the market. Recent rumors also suggest that Microsoft might talk about Windows 9 at its BUILD conference in April, with a possible release in April 2015. The company is reportedly looking to give up on the Windows 8 brand and start afresh.

Microsoft Windows 9 Arriving Next November?

Microsoft Windows 9 Arriving Next November?I will be the first to admit that I would be pretty surprised if the above were to be true, that Microsoft Windows 9 will hit the markets sometime next November. It just feels too soon, and do we really need a next generation desktop operating system even before the entire world has made Windows 8 as their operating system of choice for millions of computers worldwide? One thing’s for sure though, you can bet your bottom dollar that Microsoft is definitely working on a next generation of their desktop operating system, but what they have decided to call it, and when will it roll out to the masses, remain to be seen. It would be a waste of time, too, to speculate on such details.

Win8China, a site that has provided a bunch of Windows leaks in the past which were hits (as well as misses), claimed that the software giant is working on Windows 9 for a tentative November 2014 product launch, and it would be as early as next January where we will be able to check out a beta. This, however, does jive with whispers on the street that Windows would get a yearly operating system update, and Windows Blue being touted to be a Windows 8 update later this year, so what’s stopping Windows 9 from a November 2014 release? All in all, we will be on our toes to make sure that when Windows 9 arrives, we will report it.
