R2-D2 Christmas Wreath: Astromech the Halls

Your Star Wars themed Christmas just got a new piece of decor. Check out Amy Radcliffe’s R2-D2 wreath. It’s the wreath those impressionable Stormtroopers have been looking for.

The colors match the droid and are nice and metallic. The red balls at the top are a nice touch too since they match R2′s red indicator light. And of course you have to have an R2-D2 figure at the bottom. Awesome job, Amy. But this will attract those pesky Jawas. Set out some cookies for them.

You could make one of these yourselves using Amy’s step-by-step instructions. After all, it’s not enough to watch the Star Wars Holiday Special. A true fan must live the holiday special.

The Ultimate Geeky DIY Holiday Wreath

I love a good wreath during the holidays. But forget all of your pine cones and glittery ornaments. A wreath should be geeky and show everything that you love on it. Well, the folks over at Our Nerd Home have created just such a wreath. And it is an instant Christmas classic as far as I’m concerned.

They combined a ton of different and equally awesome geeky things on their bright wreath, with icons representing Robocop, LEGO, the TARDIS, Batman, Fallout, Q*Bert, Heisenberg and more. Now that’s a wreath.

It looks more difficult to make than it is. They just drew the shapes onto foam board, cut them with an X-acto knife, and used markers and paint to add the bright colors. It looks very dimensional. You can make one yourself and put all of your favorite geeky things on it.

Ok, it’s not as classic as this wreath, but it’s still pretty awesome.

Star Trek: The Wreath of Khan

Christmas time is here and if you haven’t decorated yet, get your Scroogeish buttocks to work. If you are a geek, more specifically a Star Trek geek, this is the best wreath that you could ever hang on your door.

Someone has taken a bunch of printed pics of Khan from Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, then arranged in circle on a wreath making the Wreath of Khan (get it?). This is one of those cool ideas that only geeks will get, other people will be like, “Who is that on your wreath?”

You could even use Benedict Cumberbatch’s Khan from Star Trek Into Darkness if you prefer a modern version. Somewhere on the old school wreath I would have included a picture of Shatner screaming “KHAAAAAAN!”
