Nintendo CEO claims Wii U graphics “capabilities” are “close” to PS4 and Xbox 8. Here’s Why

When the Wii U titles were unveiled at E3, we finally get a chance to look at what it was capable of in terms of graphics. Of course, this is only the first generation of Wii U titles, so you can expect some improvements over its life time. However, we were wondering how the Wii U would compare to Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles. Typically, the leap between generations is quite high, so there are lofty expectations out there for Microsoft’s and Sony’s next hardware.

The Nintendo CEO knows that people may hold out on the Nintendo Wii U if they believe that something “radical” is around the corner, so he came out in defense of his product and said “we can at least assure you that the Wii U will not have such a big difference as the Wii had in comparison to how, on other platforms, developers could expect very different graphic capabilities of generating HD-applicable high-resolution graphics”. Microsoft registers new Xbox-related domain names

Xbox 8While we’re all still waiting for the next-generation Xbox’s official announcement, the name of the upcoming console has yet to be revealed. Possible names include the Xbox 720, though now we have reason to believe it could be the Xbox 8. It has been reported that Microsoft has registered a bunch of new Xbox-related domain names inclduing Xbox8.us and Xbox8.org. Now there’s no telling if Microsoft intends to come up with a product named Xbox 8 or they’re doing it just for safeguarding purposes, but it could be a possibility.

Other domain names registered along with Xbox 8 include XboxPhone.com, XboxTablet.com, XboxLiveTV.com, and XboxCompanion.com. It’s the same case with the Xbox8 domain names – so we’ll just have to wait and see. Though an Xbox tablet definitely sounds like something we’d like to keep an eye out for. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
