Sony Xperia GX might ship in pink

Not too long ago, we talked about how Nokia actually came up with a pink colored nail polish that is said to match the pink colored Nokia Lumia 900. Well, here we are with the possibility of the Sony Xperia GX coming in a third color. Do bear in mind that this is just a rumor and it has yet to be confirmed, where it is due to go on sale later in Japan, and there are also healthy pre-orders for the device. Right now, confirmed images of the Sony Xperia GX point to it being available in either black or white shades, but who are we to rule out a pink color?

ePrice did put in a report concerning a pink version, with an image that frankly, does not look too convincing at all. Still, it was rumored that the Sony Xperia GX will arrive with a matte finish that looks pretty much the same as that of other colored versions models. There is no confirmation as to when or how this will be available, although we do hope to see additional details at the upcoming IFA show which will be happening later at the end of this month.

Sony Xperia GX makes Japan debut today

Sony Xperia GX arrives in Japan stores today

The Xperia GX passed muster at the FCC labs a few weeks back and is filling shelves of NTT DoCoMo stores starting today. If you like your smartphone screens big and high-resolution, you’ll probably be very happy with the Xperia GX‘s 720p 4.6-inch display, wrapped in a curved frame similar to last year’s Xperia Arc. There’s no word on whether the phone will remain a Japan-only exclusive, but Sony is likely to have something new to show off at European trade show, IFA, in only a few weeks. Arguably more of a looker than the Xperia S, perhaps we’ll see a global model — there’s a pentaband 3G radio in this iteration — sidling up next to an Xperia tablet in Germany very soon.

Sony LT29i Hayabusa photos leaked

A few days ago, the Sony Xperia GX was spotted at the FCC, leading us to believe that a US launch of the phone (originally destined for Japan) could be announced in due time. While FCC filings may not necessarily indicate a release in the US, it seems that Xperia GX hopefuls will be pleased to learn that it could be more likely than they think thanks to these leaked photos which shows off an international version of the Xperia GX, also referred to as the LT29i, or codename “Hayabusa”. Compared to the Japan-bound Xperia GX, this particular model closely resembles the build with the exception that it is missing the FeliCa logo under the LED flash and also appears to sport a different chrome rim around the phone.

According to its rumored specs, the Sony LT29i Hayabusa is expected to feature a 4.55” HD 720×1280 display, 1GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with an Adreno 320 GPU along with a 13MP rear-facing camera. No word on when we will be seeing the Hayabusa launched in the US, but assuming that it does, these leaked photos might be an indication of what we will be able to expect.

Sony Xperia GX hits the FCC

Everyone, clear the FCC decks – there is a new smartphone from Sony Mobile, and this time around it is the Sony Xperia GX which is being lined up for inspection. First announced in May earlier this year, the Sony Xperia GX was slated for a summer release in the Land of the Rising Sun, and we bring you good tidings that it is finally making its way to the US, although it will first have to pass through the tests and probes that it will be subjected to by the FCC. What else do we know about the documentation surrounding the Sony Xperia GX? For starters, it will come with a pentaband 3G radio that is capable of HSPA speeds. Hopefully in due time, additional details concerning the Xperia GX will surface – and that would include the kind of carriers it will most probably be made available from.

We already know that it will be powered by the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and have a 13-megapixel camera in tow – the question is, how soon will the Jelly Bean update be released for it?

Xperia GX goes through federal inspection, is still the Sony phone we want

Sony’s forthcoming 4.6-inch Android ICS slab has appeared at the FCC, and has revealed a few more details on what appears to be the company’s next flagship smartphone. The highlight of the federal-sanctioned autopsy of the Xperia GX reveals an interesting point; a pentaband 3G radios capable of HSPA speeds, something that’s still a rarity among global smartphones. The filing otherwise offers up a not-so-thrilling glimpse at the hardware labeling and, well, not much else. See for yourself at the link below.
