Sony - 4K LCD "BRAVIA KD-X9200A" - "Triluminous Display" technology and magnetic fluid speakers - Am I really in my living room?

Sony is releasing 2 new models (65 inch and 55 inch) of their 4K compliant LCD “BRAVIA KD-X9200A” series on June 1.

Because of the high color vividness of Sony’s newly developed “Triluminous Display” technology and use of its Magnetic Fluid Speakers, adopted for use in TVs for the first time, Sony says that its “BRAVIA KD-X9200A” delivers such a vivid sensory experience that you may forget that you’re really not there. “Am I really in my living room…?”

Its 4K image resolution processor enables images with several different levels of resolution to convert to 4K resolution images.

In terms of connecting to a smart device, there are some interesting functions like “One-touch mirroring function” to mirror the screen of NFC compliant Xperia smartphones or tablets to the TV screen, or “TV SideView” so that you can use your smart device as the TV’s remote control.

Sony says Xperia Tablet S sales will resume ‘gradually’ starting next month

Sony Xperia Tablet S sales said to resume 'gradually' next month

Following the unexpected sales halt from earlier this month due to issues with build quality, Sony has taken to its Japanese portal to announce that the Xperia Tablet S will be returning to shelves later next month. Per the company, sales of the 9.4-inch, Ice Cream Sandwich slate are scheduled to kick off again starting mid-November (albeit in small dozes), with the outfit emphasizing that it’s still offering a free-of-charge inspection / repair service to customers who might be affected by the leaky woes. Unfortunately, a “mid-November” estimate is all we have at this point, but you can be certain we’ll let you know as soon as Sony gives us a more concrete date.

Sony Xperia Tablet S review: Sony’s second-gen Android slate has a slimmer design, faster guts

Sony Xperia Tablet S review

For Sony, it’s all about the presentation. To be sure, since the company put all of its mobile products under one roof, it’s achieved more of a balance between style and substance than it did with the original Tablet S and Tablet P — two devices that had a lopsided emphasis on unique, proof-of-concept designs over user experience. It’s fair to say those initial tablet efforts failed to resonate with consumers, leaving the company with little recourse other than an all-out do-over.

Which is why the new Xperia Tablet S has a lot to prove: it can’t get by based on looks alone. Running skinned Ice Cream Sandwich and packing a quad-core Tegra 3 SoC, this 9.4-incher maintains the same 1,280 x 800 IPS LCD panel used on the first-gen S, and even assumes the same folded-over magazine shape — albeit, in thinner form. Yes, that full SD slot remains, but you might not need to rely on it now that the tablet comes with up to 64GB of built-in storage. So, will an emphasis on OS, ecosystem (Video Unlimited, Music Unlimited, Crackle, Reader, etc.) and a slimmed-down build make up for the blunders of the first-gen Tablet S? Will a $399 starting price help this WiFi-only tab stand out amongst the Android competition? Stick around as we find out whether this S is more than initially meets the eye.

Sony XPERIA Tablet gets Sony back in the tablet race

If you have followed the news recently, you may have heard of Sony’s upcoming XPERIA tablet (and accessories, and specs) as a rumor. Well, at IFA, Sony is launching this new device officially, and we had the opportunity to have a quick hands-on before its official debuts. Before we provide our first impressions, let’s talk about what Sony is aiming for.

The XPERIA tablet has been built with a data-driven process. Sony has noticed that a lot of people were using their tablet in front of the TV. That’s why it has added an infrared emitter to turn the XPERIA tablet into a very (very!) fancy universal remote. Samsung has arrived to pretty much the same conclusion with the Galaxy Note 10.1 IR capabilities, and so far, this is a very good idea, and Sony’s remote functionality can handle more complex scenarios than Samsung’s. Sony Xperia Tablet accessories leaked

With the Sony Tablet P and the Tablet S being released last year, it would not be a stretch of the imagination to think that new Sony tablets could be released this year. It wasn’t too long ago that alleged press shots of the upcoming Sony Xperia Tablet were leaked, and purported specs were revealed as well, giving the device a NVIDIA Tegra-3 quad-core processor, 16-64GB of storage, a 9.4” 1280×800 display, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 1MP front-facing camera, a 6,000mAh battery and Android 4.0 ICS on board.

While those specs have yet to be confirmed, photos of the accessories to complement the Xperia Tablet have been spotted which includes a keyboard case, a stand that allows the tablet to be orientated in portrait or landscape mode, and a media dock which basically amplifies the sound coming from the tablet and comes with a remote control as well. Those are some pretty decent accessories, especially the keyboard case which we can’t help but feel is reminiscent of the Microsoft Surface tablet and its own keyboard case. It has been suggested that the Sony Xperia Tablet could be announced at IFA which will be taking place this week, so check back with us for the details.
