Future Zelda Games Might Not Necessarily Be At 60fps

Future Zelda Games Might Not Necessarily Be At 60fpsGamers without doubt would love it if all their games could run at a silky smooth consistent 60fps. The good news is that the latest Zelda game, A Link Between Worlds, does run at 60fps much to the delight of gamers and Zelda fans everywhere, but if you were hoping that this is a trend that will carry on to future Zelda games, both new and possible remakes, don’t get your hopes up, at least that’s what the game’s director wants gamers to know. Speaking to Game Informer magazine (via Nintendo Everything), the game’s director, Hiromasa Shikata stated that despite A Link Between Worlds featuring 60fps, “This doesn’t mean that all future Zelda titles will run at 60 frames per second.”

Apparently the reason behind the 60fps frame rate in the game is because they wanted it to look “smooth” and “crisp”. According to Shikata, “It’s really the concept of the game that changes whether you want to keep the volume of information in the game low and running at 60 frames per second. We kept it at 60 to make the 3D look smooth, allow the players to clearly see enemy movements, and keep everything moving crisply as with previous games. This doesn’t mean that all future Zelda titles will run at 60 frames per second.” We guess this is somewhat disappointing, but at the same time previous Zelda games did not run at 60fps either and those were just as fun, so here’s hoping that future Zelda titles will be fun enough where players can overlook its frame rates.

    X-Ray Illustrations: Cartoon Characters Exposed

Unless you’re an invertebrate, you probably have a skeleton. But even though we all have these bony structures holding us together, we still find skeletons kind of creepy. French artist Chris Panda seems to have an obsession with skeletons, having created a series of illustrations which let us see the bones of cartoon, video game, and pop culture icons.

The image of Sylvester with Tweety Bird in his stomach is pretty amusing, and Batman looks quite majestic, but Ariel’s skeleton put me in the mood to eat fish for dinner tonight. Is that wrong?

The series of images includes everyone from The Legend of Zelda’s Link, to Fionna and Cake from Adventure Time to Popeye. But the most disturbing image of all has to be this one of Miley Cyrus twerking with Beetlejuice. That’s even harder to look at than the original – now that’s an accomplishment.

Links Duke It Out In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

I am quite sure that any gamer worth his or her salt would appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into the development of any first party Nintendo title. For instance, Zelda has thrilled gamers for many years already, and in the latest outing known as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, it is said that gamers are able to duke it out with other players’ versions of Link using StreetPass. This is what we were able to gather from the most recent trailer of the game that you can view above.

As depicted in the trailer, players are able to swap Shadow Links, which happen to be ghost versions of the character, using the Nintendo 3DS’ StreetPass functionality. Once you have created your very own Shadow Link, you will be able to set up the items and number of hearts which he has and send him out. Needless to say, the more powerful a Shadow Link is, the bounty that is attached to him will be correspondingly higher should someone beat them. Once a Shadow Link is beaten, one will earn Rupees, which happens to be the game’s famous in-game currency. On the other hand, there will be no penalty for losing to these Links, making this a win-win situation for everyone. I wonder if this can be turned into a “farming” situation down the road.

A Zelda Movie Might Require Movie Goers To Bring Their Nintendo 3DS

A Zelda Movie Might Require Movie Goers To Bring Their Nintendo 3DSWe’re sure there are many gamers out there who wouldn’t mind seeing a Zelda movie being made, but given that video game movies hardly turn out the way they’re intended, Nintendo probably does not want to sully the name of one of their biggest franchises. However if and when such a movie were to be made, it seems that movie goers might need to bring their Nintendo 3DS handheld console into the cinemas if they wish to be able to enjoy the movie on a whole new level.

Speaking to the folks at Kotaku, Eiji Aonuma revealed that he and Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto have discussed the possibility of such a movie in the past, but instead of merely adapting the game into a movie, they would make it interactive. “If we were to make a Zelda title, if we had interest in doing that, I think really what would be most important to us is to be able to play with the format of a movie, make it more interactive, like you’re able to take your 3DS into the theater and that leads you into participating in it somehow. We wouldn’t want to make it the same as any other movie. We want to somehow change what a movie is.” It’s definitely an intriguing idea, but what do you guys think? Would you love to see such a Zelda movie being made?
