Chevrolet Silverado Black Ops Concept: The Truck for The Zombiepocalyps

If you are worried about the inevitable zombie invasion – and who isn’t – you might want to check out this Chevy Silverado on display at the State Fair of Texas. This ‘Black Ops Concept’ is apocalypse ready. Chevy design manager Dave Ross calls it “a survival kit on four wheels.”

The Black Ops features a raised suspension and body armor to help it traverse the toughest terrain that the post-apocalyptic wasteland has to offer. In the bed is a zombie-proof Truck Vault storage unit. Inside of this is a solar power pack, gas masks, gloves, a military first aid kit, a folding shovel, and a rope. On top of the storage locker are a generator, fuel can, and food and water rations.

It has everything you need to survive hordes of zombies and keep going. I hope it becomes a reality before the undead show up.

Zombie Garden Gnomes Aren’t as Creepy as Normal Garden Gnomes

I’ve never been a fan of garden gnomes, honestly they are little disconcerting. I always had the sense that they’re watching me and is waiting for nightfall when they’ll creep into the house and stuff Tic-Tacs up my nose until I suffocate. For some reason I don’t find these zombie garden gnomes nearly as creepy as the regular ones – go figure.

These would be perfect decorating your garden for Halloween. ThinkGeek has four different zombie garden gnome styles including the survivor, zombie, rising, and evil versions. Each individual zombie garden gnome is between nine and 11.4-inches tall and made from resin.

The only exception is the zombie version (the one with the blue outfit), which is actually made from terracotta.

I particularly like the survivor gnome because he has a machine gun and it says “Say hello to my little friend” underneath. The gnomes sell for $19.99(USD) each, or you can get the survivor and zombie version in a bundle for $29.99. We’ve seen some other zombie gnomes in the past, but ThinkGeek has machine guns (plus they’re cheaper.)

The Walking Dead Companion Series Coming in 2015 – YES!

One of my all-time favorite TV shows is The Walking Dead on AMC. I know I’m not alone in really digging the show because it’s one of the most popular shows on TV. If you’re a fan, you’ll be thrilled to hear that AMC is currently getting a companion series ready for the air for 2015.

The Walking Dead companion series will be produced by the executive producers of the original series, Robert Kirkman and Gale Ann Hurd. AMC says that the shows currently very early in development but calls the show a “no-brainer.” AMCs Charlie Collier, president and general manager said that the new series will have an entirely new story.

What exactly will take place in the new show remains to be seen, but we do know it’s going to be set in the same post-apocalyptic world and follow a new group of survivors as they combat the zombie horde. Season four of The Walking Dead debuts October 13.

Zombie Animated Backpack lets your little one scare others

zombie-snotty-bagGoing back to school is an annual affair for many children who have the privilege of an education, and sometimes, that is the place where they learn about stuff such as peer pressure. Sometimes, they might even come home and tug at your shirt, asking you to buy them the latest pencil case or backpack. Perhaps it is time you indulged your little one for once, after all, how many years do you have with them before they fly away from the nest? Here is where the $39.99 Zombie Animated Backpack delivers a humorous take on what is normally approached with fear and trepidation.

The backpack will not only feature enough nooks and crannies to stash away your little one’s books and other kinds of knick knacks, but it will also boast of its fair share of features. Snot the Zombie will live up to his name, dripping snot straight from his nose, while you can also control him with but a push of a button, making all sorts of funny faces to elicit laughter from the rest of the class. Some of the facial movements include rolling his eyes around and being able to gurgle some zombie noises. Powered by a trio of AA batteries, it might eventually be banned from classrooms as it should provide more of a distraction than anything else.

Walking Dead Pet Bottle Opener: How Michonne Drinks Her Zombie Ale

Assuming you made it past the end of Season Two of The Walking Dead by now, you know all about Michonne and her “pets.” These zombies have had their lower jaws removed so they can’t bite. But that doesn’t mean they can’t still open a bottle of beer with their teeth, right?

walking dead bottle opener

Yes, you’re looking at the latest in wacky Walking Dead merch, Michonne’s zombie pet bottle opener. Unfortunately, it’s not coming out until January 2014, but you can always pre-order one now, and have it in hand so you can drown your sorrows with a few brewskis after Season 4 is over.

Funny thing is, this is probably what would happen to you if you tried to open too many beer bottles with your real teeth.

Invasion of the Zom-Babies

Tired of princess and puppy dog costumes? Why not dress up your baby in some scary threads this Halloween? Sure, it’s still more than a month away, but it’s better to have a costume all prepared than rush around and buy a really crappy one when you realize that you didn’t have time to make one yourself after all.

What’s a better costume for your baby than an undead one? Zombies are all the rage these days, so why not let your baby get in on the action?

Zombabiez

Stephanie Davidson was on the hunt for a zombie costume for babies that would make them appear to be creepy, crawling torso-only zombie and decided to make her own when she couldn’t find it. She decided to share the joy of transforming babies into the crawling dead and launched a Kickstarter campaign called Zombabiez.

That’s essentially what these adorable-looking zombie costumes are called. Each one is made using child-safe materials and has a bunch of colorful innards and hanging organs that babies will probably have a lot of fun grabbing and chewing on.

You can check out Zombabiez here. A minimum pledge of $60(USD) will get you a Zombabiez costume for your little one, just in time for Halloween.

Zombucks: Currency for the Zombie Apocalypse

What are you going to use as currency when the Zombie apocalypse happens? Soda bottle caps? Ammo? Ammo isn’t a bad idea, I suppose. How about Zombucks? When being hunted by hordes of brain eaters, you might as well use currency that features the undead prominently on the face of the coin.

Provident Metals is releasing these 1oz silver coins that will honor 10 separate historical figures and coin designs and zombify them. They will unveil a new design every three months and each release will have a limited mintage.

Collect them all and save them up. You will need them to buy food, ammo, and anything else you need to survive. The silver coins sell for $22.22(USD) and will only go up in value when walkers roam the Earth.

Equip Yourself With Slingshots For The Zombie Apocalypse

When you think about how you would deal with a zombie invasion, the weapons that come to mind probably don’t include slingshots. But if the story of David and Goliath has taught us anything it’s that slingshots are pretty deadly. Plus that whole underdog thing. Whatever. More »

Star Trek Captains Zombie Cookies: To Boldly Chew…

With all of the away missions that the Star Trek captains have been on, I’m surprised that none of them have been bitten by zombies. Well, that may not have happened on the shows, but now you can see what each captain would have looked like as the undead, thanks to these cookies.

trek zombie cookies

Here we have Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway and Archer cookies all zombified and craving the brains of their crew. One can only imagine the panic that would take place on a Federation starship under siege by a zombie horde.

janeway zombie cookie

These awesomely horrifying cookies were made by the blogger behind Food Replicator, a Star Trek cuisine blog, last Halloween. I also love that they look kind of like South Park characters – and how Picard is holding his own head – it’s the zombie equivalent of the Facepalm.
