Best Buy Gets Sued For Using Pirated Software

Best Buy is being sued by Winternals Software LP for allegedly using their software without the proper number of licenses. The software that is in question is currently used by the Geek Squad and costs $1,200 per license. Best Buy and Winternals were working on a several million dollar deal last year and then in February 2006 Best Buy decided to break off the deal because they were no longer interested. The amount being sued for has not been determined but I would imagine it will be at least a couple million dollars. Sounds like an ‘oops’ to me :) .
