Boil-Over-Safeguard

Cooking is one of those tasks that’s necessary in life. Sure, you can get takeout every night, or try to get someone else to cook for you, but the former gets expensive, and the latter can be hard to come by (unless you have a really awesome spouse). One of the most simple dishes to make is spaghetti. All you do is boil some water, dump in the noodles, and warm up the sauce. However, if you’re easily distracted, you might accidentally let the water boil over, and that can cause a mess. If that sounds like something that happens to you, then I’ve got just the thing.

The Boil Over Safeguard might seem like a silly thing to need in the situation I described above. However, imagine that you’re trying to prepare a more complex meal, and you have a couple of little ones running around. It becomes much easier to accidentally let the water get too hot, without giving it a few needed stirs. This silicone lid helps prevent spillovers but widening and extending the opening of the pot you’re using. It sits down snugly on the top of the pot, and has a small opening near the center, which actually sits lower than the outer rings. So if your water does get a bit out of control, it’s not going to spill over the sides, but simply bubble up onto this silicon lid.

The Boil Over Safeguard fits any pot or pan with an opening between 6” and 10” in diameter. It is made of silicon which can withstand heats up to 400 degrees, and can be used in both the dishwasher and microwave.
