When they finally arrived on the surface after two months trapped underground, the group of 33 trapped Chilean miner no doubt got more than they bargained for. There’s talk of movie and book deals and the like–it’s all a lot to take in. The miners are no doubt just happy to be home with their respective families.
There’s another unexpected perk on top of all of that, as well. California-based high-end sunglasses manufacturer Oakley has donated sunglasses to all of the miners. The company let the miners pick between either the Path or Range models from its Radar line–the glasses start at $180.
The donation came after a Chilean journalist approached the company, explaining that the miners would need eye protection after having been trapped in the dark mine for so long.
