The carbon dioxide from car exhausts is one of the biggest contributors to air pollution, which leads to the greenhouse effect and contributes to global warming.
Take your car out for a ride only when you have to and walk when you can. But if you can’t minimize car usage just yet, then check out the CO2ube instead.
It’s a pipe attachment of sorts that’s fastened directly on your car’s tailpipe. The CO2ube is said to filter out the carbon dioxide as the exhaust is emitted, making sure it isn’t released into the atmosphere. The tube uses a combination of algae and sodium hydroxide to strip the exhaust of the CO2 as it exits.
The CO2ube is currently up for funding on Kickstarter, where it’ll cost you $35(USD) to get one. The filter needs to be replaced every eight to ten weeks, so you might want to take the plunge and pledge $500 to get a year’s supply of the filters.
