Amanda Foote waited outside the premiere Apple Store on the Upper East Side of New York City for 41 hours and only got a few hours of sleep over the course of a couple days. But here’s the thing. She didn’t even want an iPad 2. What she did want was a nice offer from someone a bit wealthier who didn’t have time to wait around.
In addition to the strain of waiting dozens of hours in line, Foote had to deal with a thief who stole her box of donuts while she was sleeping. But it was all worth it when Hazen Sayed, an app developers, was strapped for time. He had to leave Friday night for a business trip and wanted to take a brand new iPad 2 with him.
Kudos, Amanda! You have more patience than I do.
