Content Pulled From Apple-Owned Multi-Touch Site–Tablet Imminent?

Have no fear: when it comes to Apple Tablet coverage, there are countless folks out there scouring every inch of the Web for signs of life. Yesterday everyone (ourselves included) jumped all over that quote by the Orange exec who seemingly confirmed that one was coming. This morning, all of the talk is seems to revolve around Fingerworks–a computer accessory manufacturer that produces hardware based on multi-touch gestures.

Apple bought the company some five years ago, and just this week all content was removed from that site. “The removal seems to correspond with the impending announcement of an Apple tablet later this month,” write MacRumors. “One possible explanation is that Apple will finally be implementing many of the same advanced multi-touch keyboard gestures that were originally pioneered by Fingerworks.”

So, what do you think? Definitive proof that the company is set to release that long-rumored tablet, or is this just another case of bloggers making a mountain out of an expired domain? In the lull between CES and that supposed Apple announcement, we’ll take what we can get.
